Ralphie ★ Posted January 22, 2017 Share #1 Posted January 22, 2017 I am dipping my toe into the home brewing waters. What do you think? I saved up a bunch of beer bottles.
smudge ★ Posted January 22, 2017 Share #2 Posted January 22, 2017 Bench capper all the way. I've always had a bench capper, and I'm glad. Seems to be too much potential to mess up with the wing capper. Consider how many bottles you expect to cap; the money difference is not worth it. Bench capper. Ralphie ★ Posted January 22, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted January 22, 2017 Thanks! Does this one look too cheap? It IS a red Ferrari! https://www.amazon.com/Ferrari-Super-Agata-Bench-Capper/dp/B000Q638P2/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1485116979&sr=8-6&keywords=bottle+capper
smudge ★ Posted January 22, 2017 Share #4 Posted January 22, 2017 Ha! That's the one I have. You will do well with it.
Johnny Come Lately Name Posted January 22, 2017 Share #5 Posted January 22, 2017 Capper? Buy the cheapest one you can get. After your second batch, when you decide bottling sucks ass and you go to kegging, you'll be happy you spent less.

smudge ★ Posted January 23, 2017 Share #7 Posted January 23, 2017 Yes, bottling is a chore, but it's worth it. Easier to stash a few beers for ageing, easier to share with others, easier to enter competitions. Kegging is nice, but you always need to bottle beers. Ralphie ★ Posted January 23, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted January 23, 2017 I would like those cute little kegs like Heiney comes in. But that seems like a lot of work too, and seems very experimental at the moment. I think I might be more cut out to just drink beer, but we'll see! smudge ★ Posted January 23, 2017 Share #9 Posted January 23, 2017 Those little kegs have been reused for years. Yes, a lot of work. Fun, but too much dinkin' around.

Yes, kegs are nice, but they have their expense and negatives too.
KrAzY Posted January 23, 2017 Share #12 Posted January 23, 2017 I like the wing one better.. I can easily move across the room capping bottles and not have to designated to one spot only. I highly recommend a bench one for wine bottles.. stay away from the wing one for those. But for caps.. no problem!
