A long time ago, a man and a woman bumped uglies in a small cabin located on an island in Ontario...but I digress.
Screen name is my given name. Creative, eh?
Thank you very much!
We've tried multiple speech therapies and so far this is the only one Kaiden has taken to. Little by little he's mastering it.
Although we may never again hear his voice speaking clearly, we'll be able to hold a conversation.
He's developed his own physical language and we get by pretty good with it (after us dummy adults finally figured it out) but this will greatly expand his ability to communicate.
Speaking of the little devil, evidently it's time to eat, so I'd best get going.
Roasted over an open fire.
Have yet to put one in the smoker. Norway Maple, Black Walnut, & Apple smoked squirrel....hmmm....may need to try that this year.
This has been a pretty good place to work but it's become stagnant as far as IT goes which was a major driving factor for resigning.
A guy I worked with during my consulting days said it best, "The day I stop learning something new here is the day I quit."
after 9 years with my current employer.
Hoping they give me the ol' HR heave out the door during the traditional off-site goodbye lunch.
Lookin' forward to starting my new gig next Monday.
Hey Aire!
PECS doesn't sound familiar. Anne and I are scraping up the cash to invest in either a LAMP device or an iPad with the app. The iPad option is less expensive but we don't know if it's up to snuff compared to the actual LAMP device.
Inch by inch we're learning his language. His is one of doing, not saying. For instance, if he wants me to stand up and come with him first he'll push down on my knee. Once I stand up, he'll walk behind me and push one of my legs in the direction he wants me to go. It takes time to decipher what he means with a specific action but once we get the idea he's very consistent in his actions.
Neither I nor my wife can stand perfumes.
A couple months ago an edict was handed down from on high at work about perfumes because one person here slapped it on so thick (and did so every day), the fumes triggered a bout of anaphylaxis in one of her co-workers.
Hey Indy.
Pretty good. Start a new job on Monday. Slightly less pay to start but more than made up for in benefits and reduced time behind the wheel.
Hoping the *!*^&$%(&^ deer start coming out of the fields. Been out almost every day since opener and have only seen 6. Gotta get that freezer filled before the snow falls!
Kaiden's doing well. Still no speech but his muscle coordination is improving day by day.
Spent a lot of time at the cabin this summer. Gobs of work needed doing but somehow managed to squeeze in a bunch of fishing in parts of Rainy Lake I've either never been or haven't been for a very long time.
Word's getting around about the cookbook my missus wrote a while back. Not jumping off the shelves as such but selling steadily.
What's new by you?
On May 23rd, 1917 a boy was born in the backwoods of northwesterrn Ontario.
His parents named him Nicholas, but he preferred to be called Nick.
On November 24, 1972, one of his four daughters named her firstborn son after him.
End of story.
