Today is Mr.Aire's birthday. We went for a run along the water. Left a note and tip for the housekeeper. Came back, she was in the hall. Spoke to her. She seemed nice. Showered and went for breakfast. Tip and note still on table. Did sightseeing, had food,, and bought some stuff in the Columbia store. Came back to the room 6 hours later. Tip is gone, note in trash, nothing at all done in room. Trash is still in cans, towels as we left them, etc... We aren't that messy it is the principle of the thing-- she took the money and did not even empty the trash. EvenMr.Aire is annoyed. We wentt to the desk. They called the head housekeeper to come inspect the room. For some reason this pissed me off--- like I could not tell the crumpled note was in the trash with the dental floss and it wasn't emptied She comes in and says it isn't acceptable and asks us to leave so she can clean it. Really. We just got back. No thanks-just give us some fresh towels. She did. I told her that she deserved the tip because she actually tried. Then I attempted to give her $20. She would not take it. All in all, it leaves a bad taste and we won't stay here again even thought people seemed nice at first glance. Bought some wine and 25 year cheddar--- cheese is better than the wine. Since we had a big lunch, we will probably call this dinner. I also got some Sugar Rush cupcakes because it is a birthday. Mine is Chocolate Moccha . Mr. Aire;s is black forest. We did not buy any with bacon or pepperoni on them because that is just wrong. Now we are reading and relaxing and drinking wine.3 points

46F mostly cloudy with a high of 67. Perfection. Furnace didn't kick on. I have on fuzzy jammies. Made coffee and breakfast, and now I am listening to Megadeath and getting charged up to lead an all girls ride. Project Badass is coming with, but she is all freaked out. The girl has not stayed with it, after my Summer work hiatus. I don't get people sometimes. She bought a $4000 bike and rode it 4 times this Summer. WTF? I wonder why she bought it. She was charged up. Then, three months later has lost interest. I had to really push to get her to go today. I should just give up on her. She spit out the hook that I thought I had properly sunk into her cheek. You have to show some sort of interest. She said she only likes to ride with me. I can't do another season of being her cheerleader. We will see how today goes. I have 7 girls going. One gal is 13. Let's get it, Ladies!3 points

64 miles, West Yellowstone to Old Faithful and back. Sunny, 35-59 degrees, no wind on the first section to Madison Junction, then less than the usual winds for the remainder of the ride.3 points

27.8 on Brutus, 1841 feet of climbing, 9.4 mph average I wasn't feeling great after mile 3 or so. I got stung by a bee on my temple. I tossed back a Benadryl and a Naproxen and then went on. The Benadryl made me tired and the bee sting made my eye swell. Otherwise, it was a perfect day. I have ridden everyday this month, so far. Who else got some riding in today?2 points

SW has implied that some of my posts are just flagrant attempts to increase my post count. I would never ever do that.2 points

Left eye is half swollen shut. I will wear dark glasses, so people don't have to look at me. Luckily, I can still host my ride today. Unfortunately, I will have to slow down for my descents.2 points

I can't assume anything. Until I hear otherwise, I'm going to sleep in a tent out in the carport with Sam to show solidarity. This is dangerous as it is unkempt and I have seen 2 snakes hanging out there recently. I do this because I am RO's godfather.2 points

Normally yes, at the end of the stay, but no we do not factor in room rate. By the way, my letter to the motel with the late night visitors was successful. The manager even offered to comp us a room on our next stay in town.1 point

Yes, truly. They also make pull down screens for those of you who live in less desirable areas unlike my Greenville.1 point

Forgive me, but I'm a bit puzzled why you would ask a bike-related question here... I thought this was the Forum for advice on thank you notes and casement windows.1 point

Over 400 yards passing. It would be a perfect end to the football season if Goodell had to hand the Lombardi Trophy to the very guy he tried to defame as a cheater.1 point

I spent much of my life scoffing at curlers, then I tried it. Great social game and a lot of fun. Especially the beer leagues. Poutine is disgusting. I guess the French left their taste on the other side of the Atlantic.1 point
