  1. Lindy had an agility trial today. It was his second official competition. In the first one, he did not do so well. Today, he was a super star with a cape. In his first run he not only ran clean he did a 60 second course in 27 seconds!! Clean run means he did every obstacle with no refusals, did not knock down any bars on the jumps, and stayed on the table until the judge told us to move on. It earned him first place!! Second run was also clean. He did however stop to visit with the bar setter person who sits in the ring. That cost him 11 seconds. So he finished in 39 seconds. It wasn't good enough to place but he did qualify. the 2 Q's means that he finished his first agility title today! Hopefully this is the start of a good career. I'm so proud of how far he has come!

  2. This girl is so rad. I got dropped today. She trains and rides with pro riders and is a professional mountain bike guide. She does women's ride clinics too. It was inspiring. We all had a fun time riding together today. It was her and her awesome husband, another guy and my husband and I She is the women in this video that had a terrible crash going big with those stupid balls attached to her bike. The big balls malfunctioned and it sent her flying and she broke both her wrists. She is the gal at 2:13 when it all went horribly wrong. This crash was the fault of big balls. Women do not need big balls.

  8. It was a beautiful day here. I spent it up on the mountain, but I had No time to see it. I was too busy trying to stay with the group. Exhausting ride with people much stronger than myself. It was rad, and I am exhausted.

  22. 54 miles, or 87 km. It was my birthday ride, and I was shooting for 63 miles to ride my age, but it was windy, and cold, and getting dark, so, you know, I wimped out.

  24. Sorry Moose, I am at work and didn't see your thread. I guess the answer is because it's almost an every other day occurrence now that we lose someone beautiful. And yet Neil Young holds on.

  27. Oh for Pete's sake. I am always very excited to try a new trail, but it never works out well. This was a classic example of it. I'm in GB because HoSmudge is having another lumbar surgery. I decided not to sit in his room the entire time this time; I need out, and he needs time to relax. So I brought the fattie and planned an outing. The MTB app alerted me to this trail and called it a gem. I disagree. It's a ski trail for the most part, but it's not signed real well. And the trail is either nicely rolling or super steep and some parts have gnarly, creepy roots. Mostly it was new to me, so I was nervous. I did a lot of walking and stopping and looking around. I somehow managed 6.66 miles; figures. On the way back I decided I wanted to ride the trail on the other side of the creek. I saw another guy on a fattie, so I followed. Of course he dropped me pretty early, but up a ways I saw him cross the creek. Ok. But then...wait; I've never ridden on flat river rock. It was easy, so it was ok. Then....I had to cross the creek. No biggie, but I could see uneven rocks under the water. I KNEW I would slip off one or abruptly stop and topple over or some other hideous ly painful fall. I stood there probably 5 minutes contemplating it and trying to talk myself into it. Nope, couldn't do it. I looked about 15 yards downstream and found a wider but more level spot. Took me a couple minutes to muster up my courage, but then I DID IT!! It was easy...of course. You can see my wet tire tracks... Then a little way closer to the trailhead, I had to cross again. Of course!! I waited a while until there was no one around to see me biff it. And I was getting my courage up again. I FINALLY got up the nerve and went across again. Not quite as easy cuz there was a steep incline with hearty roots as soon as I got across the creek, but I just stepped off the bike. I got back on, and rode to my truck. Thank God it was over! Ah well, I got some fresh air, tried a new trail, and survived two very easy creek crossings. Whew!!!

  34. @tybeegb, the Vietnam era in our country's history was a very difficult time. A time of political and social upheaval. You did nothing wrong. And you didn't run. You went down to a military recruiter and decided to help determine a large part of your destiny. And for 40 years, you opted to make the ultimate sacrifice if called upon to do so. No shame, my friend. The Vietnam memorial always gets me. It remains one of the most somber memorials i know of. And your service honors the names and memories reflected there.

  37. One thing Gina likes to do is check out lady shoes at the malls when we stroll. There is a pair of pumps with a copper finish that loos sooooo cool! To be honest with you, when I see them, I get tingly all over! The pic doesn't do it justice as the finish on the shoes is mirror like. Sometimes we check them out and if they have finger prints on them, I can't help but clean them up ha ha!

  41. I needed a place to grow up and I come from a (somewhat) military family. It was my intent to go to Annapolis. I flunked the physical. There was a war going on and the next choice was enlisting. The Navy looked the other way as I slid through the physical by nefarious means. They were in search of warm bodies and not asking questions. Now, the second enlistment was because of the war.

  42. I was looking at the Domane a year or two ago. I was coming close to going with it. Then I test rode a Felt Z4 and loved it just as much. The shop was having a great deal on that particular Felt (last year's model...trying to make room for new ones), so I ended up with the Felt.
