  1. A brand new shiny 2018 CAADX w/ Ultegra I've been thinking (as you're aware) of getting a CX bike. Well I did. It'll be used mainly on my club's gravel night rides which are a blast. I should have it in a week

  2. Took the Mrs to Farm and Fleet again to do some more shopping for the grand kids. They gave a toy truck to everyone that spent $100 or more on toys. She spent over $200 and got two trucks. But she gave me one and now I have one for my diecast collection. I love Farm and Fleet. And what a gal.

  3. But you score free tickets for the Packer game you have to go to the game. I have family members that I only see few times a year that are season tickets holders that we are tailgating with before the game. If you put your name on the waiting list for season tickets the average wait is 30 years. GO PACK GO

  4. I rode my fatso to dinner last night (same place I had the kick ass burger in last weekend's thread). I ate, I drank...drank some more. Eventually a friend showed up to do the same so the evening was going well. Made chit chat w/ other locals, that was fun. The place got packed. Anywho it was the restaurant's one year anniversary since they opened. So they had free raffle give aways for wine, gift cards and such. I didn't win any of that. So when the time to get my check and scram, I asked the barmaid for my bill please. I was expecting it to be around $50. "It's been taken care of" she replied. I was like by who? The house paid my bill. I've never experience that before, I was blown away. So naturally I gave her a more than usual tip. She said "want change"? No I said, it's yours. She was quite thankful. I really do like small neighborhood restaurants over chains, they feel more like home and they typically take care of their regulars. Never did I except that to happen, but I was pleasantly surprised. The end.

  7. We both ordered a three course food surprise. 100% total darkness. I assumed it would be dark and that maybe my eyes would adjust and I'd be able to make out objects or shapes. Nope, not a hint. An amazing experience. I have no idea what I ate. My wife had two meat dishes, she got them both wrong. It really made me appreciate how challenging it must be to be blind. All of the wait staff is at a minimum, legally blind. Some were completely blind. Our waiter, Maurice, was totally blind. I will come back just for this.

  15. Nice. Yesterday when we left to go Christmas shopping we had such a beautiful near white out of snow, the Mrs let me put on the Christmas music station. When we left the store it was dark and raining. Mrs Grinch made me turn off the radio.

So I come home from work, boy is watching the movie which I'm assuming is edited and then start hearing all the swearing. I look at him and say what are you watching!?!? Goodfellas but its different. I said change the channel and he said it's a DVD gramma bought it for me... I called gramma down, did you buy him this DVD, yeah he wanted it. Did you check the rating??? By this time there were already 1/2 a dozen f bombs and other swear words... Uh..... well...... Hmm good one gramma...

  18. Staying active is something I have not been doing, but just last night a cousin in a similar sedentary lifestyle and I set up activity goals (mostly walking) and diet goals so we don't get any fatter over the winter. I can't wait for April when I expect to be cleared to ride my bike and get a little uphill aerobic exercise and raised heartrate.

  19. A guy walks into a bar, sits down on a stool, orders a drink, and strikes up a conversation with the man sitting next to him. "Where are you from?" he asked. "Dubin, ireland," was the reply. "No kidding! I'm from Dublin myself. Let's have a drink to Dublin!" So they did. "Now," asked the other guy, "Where in Dublin did you live?" "Why, I lived on Sixth Street." "Amazing, so did I! Let's have drink to Sixth Street in Dublin!" So they did. "Tell me, asked the first guy, "Where on Sixth Street did you live?" "I lived at 5204." "What are the odds? I also lived at 5204! Let's have a drink to 5204 Sixth Street in Dublin! So they did. Then they both passed out. At that moment, the bar owner walked in and asked the bartender, "Much business today?" "Just the Sullivan twins," he replied.

  25. Pickups are my biggest temptation when I think aboot getting an old vehicle. I got MGs oot of my system, but I think I would also love a 60s Japanese roadster, like the Honda beat or that Datsun fair lady or Sunbeam or something. Wait, was a sunbeam englich? But you did the right thing, scooter. Modern cars are the shiznitz.

  34. I use to go listen to Gatemouth Brown at Oak Park a beer joint outside of LaPorte, Texas in the late 50s. Last time I watched him play was at Clancys outside of Fort Collins, Colorado, in the mid-60s. He was a bit surprised to find someone from Baytown, Texas in the Colorado crowd, and yes he played some of my requests, Thanks for the memories.

  44. I think most places in our town are locally owned, even if they are franchises. I could be wrong, but it appears locals are reported as owners in newspaper articles, etc. We have a high percentage of local establishments to choose from in addition to the usual fast food places.
