  1. My Cycle Club meets every year at this time and always at the same member's home where we drink tea, eat home-baking and blether to each other. It's become a tradition so this year I thought I'd write something which expressed what it meant for me. The Cycle Meet Aye but it’s grand to be known and I move among them as they greet me thirty years and more I’ve watched them change watched them grow old…keeping pace with myself... and all that time they have laughed with me and I with them... as we mocked ourselves... compared our sore bits side by side and remembered a time when we had none and now each year we meet here before the birth of yet another year to come a reaffirmation of who and what we are I suppose some who have left us are remembered stories told of what they did and how but always with laughter....always.. I need to believe that this will go on that it will always be like this... and friend will meet friend in kind company each and every year and seek nothing else nothing at all but pleasure in the knowing....each of the other.

  4. They originally were predicting at least 8 inches of snow in Petite's area, and she was stocking up with ice cream sandwiches and planning to cancel her training session. But now they're only predicting 1-2 inches of snow, which is practically a spring day in Minnesota.

  6. I posted earlier that someone had charged a flew small Hulu charges on my card in Aug. and Sept. Chase VISA removed the charges and gave me a new card number. But a little investigating on my part showed that VISA's security measures, at least thru Chase Bank, are ridiculously flawed. Today, I received a letter from Chase VISA saying all was good and the case was completely reviewed and concluded in my favor. I called Chase VISA and said no, it's NOT "concluded" as far as I'm concerned. I told them I called Hulu myself and discovered that my 16-digit card number was used but the name and expiration date were DIFFERENT, they were NOT mine: "How," I asked, "did you approve charges against ME without a name or exp. date when some card transactions require all that plus the 3-digit code on the back of the card?" "Well," I was told, "some transactions from major clients only involve the card number." "Well," I replied, "that is not the level of security you are expected to provide. That means I could look up the digits that define the card's a VISA, change my digits a little, and then easily charge on Hulu to some other person's card, right?" No answer from the other end of the line! I said, "I want to register a protest about the way this was handled: your organization did NOT do anything to prevent it from happening again to anyone. You say it was done to my satisfaction but it was NOT if I have to worry someone else can charge to my card number online at places like Hulu. And I bet the person who made the charges didn't even realize he'd originally entered the wrong digits - that's how insecure your system is! So, in some file no one will probably read, is my complaint to Chase Freedom Visa.

  10. We just returned from our early evening outing, and it seems Duke and Smokey have reached an understanding. They touched noses a couple of times, and I did not hear angry noises from either party. Given time, I think they will be buddies and chase each other around the place.

  12. ...just opened up not too far from my office. I was doing my lunchtime walkabout (60* outside today!), and rambled by a brand new Wawa. Right next store to a Dunkin Donuts! Whodathunkit? I spent a lot of time in Wawa as a kid. Tom

  13. She had to fight hard for the right to spend $150 plus fees on two tickets! My opinion is: I am not really into making him even richer and me poorer. But since I grew up in the 70s and have lived in Jersey for over 30 years and she likes him, I 'spose I am obligated.

  24. We bought our one year old grandson from Tennessee a snow sled for Christmas. The few inches of snow we had melted with the recent 40 degree temperatures. We're hoping that the ice/sleet storm we're supposed to get this weekend is all snow instead. Cause grandpa was hoping to pull him around a wintry wonderland with sleigh bells on.

  25. We went to my nephew's graduation this weekend which made me feel very proud. Our family group was having a nice breakfast at the hotel and just as we were finishing, a man in a big Elmo costume walked in. That made me curious. Then came a big Sponge Bob Squarepants. That made me laugh. Then came a minion, who had to be escorted around because his costume's visibility wasn't good. That made me sad. Elmo was posing for pictures with the lady stocking the kitchen. That made me smile. Mickey Mouse came in and smiled at a little child who ran and hid behind her parents. This made me feel bad for the girl. Olaf from Frozen was dancing by the waffle maker. That made me want a waffle. Eventually they started pumping in the music from Suicide Squad which was a bit surreal. We asked the lady at the front desk and she said it was Santa Day at the hotel and that in addition to the characters wandering around there were some animals in the gym. This made us curious, so we went to the gym where there were some frogs! This made me happy. There was also an adorable possum named Finn who made us very happy! Then we went out into the back parking lot where there were pony rides! This made us feel cold since it was snowing and we didn't have our coats because we weren't expecting all these festivities. The line was staring to form for pictures with Santa which made us feel a little crowded, so we eventually left and went back to our rooms. The End
