Last Night I Saved My Shins. Went to pitching lessons. There was a 12U catcher that had just taken hitting lessons. She wanted to hang around and get some reps in for catching. I quickly volunteered Emmy. The 12U looked at "little" 10U Emmy and begrudgingly said OK. After the lesson the 12U girl said "Wow, you throw hard". It was fun sitting back and playing Dad for a bit, just watching and offering the occasional "constructive criticism". First tourney next weekend!

Usual commute of 5 Gym work with project badass: There is a machine that just mimics never ending stairs. I climbed 56 floors on it, level 8. Then did elliptical for another 10. I had her do the same. Weights: bench press with 70#s, shoulder press, and other shoulder work with hand held dumbells, 20 push ups, 30 sit ups (frog style), supermans (20 of them), then lots of stretching.

Yay! I just received a call from the marketing manager at Inova blood donor services. They have a thank you dinner for donors every May. This year they have a woman speaking about how her life was saved by blood donations when she gave birth in 2010. She asked if Inova could invite the blood donors whose donations helped her to the Dinner so she could meet them. I was one of those donors. The marketing manager said that many donors to this woman have stopped donating and they can't reach them. I am the first one they reached. Yay! This should be interesting.

I replace the taars on the Seven in March 2016. They are starting to wear out, not like Longjohn's on the Great Adventure, but risky, like nobody wants a flat on a long ride in freezing temperatures. 6,893 miles is a good return on bike taars. Specialized Armadillos. I may get the same ones if the LBS has them. Those or Conti 4seasons if they don't.

Yesterday morning, one of our Angora goat does had triplets. We have been raising Angoras privately, since the mid-80s and do not remember any of our does having triplets. The first born was breathing a bit hard, and my wife gave it an antibiotic. We do not know if he will make it, but so far they are doing fine. All were sleeping under their lamp in the barn alongside their doting mother at the 4:30am check. I also found a new set of Lincoln twins at that check and moved them to the barn. Most of the Katahdins have lambed, and now the Lincolns are starting. This is early for the goats, but we feel fortunate to have 5 kids in the barn. The first set of twin goats born last week are already jumping and playing. They have a great mom that produces a lot of milk.

Just signed and emailed back acceptance of a job offer. Still got to nail down a start date and go car shopping since for the time being I'll have over an hour commute one way. Good bump in pay which is nice but no benefits. I'm a stressed out wreck. This one happened fast, phone interview yesterday morning, I had an offer by the afternoon. My head is spinning.

The "this is interesting" thread has generated a "start on monday" result. This is short term employment of 30 hours a week or less on a flexible schedule (mine). I don't see the contract lasting for more than a month. This is kewel as I don't have to look forward to the steady grind of "work". It should be fun for a few weeks. But then again the hobby shoppe was fun for a few weeks that lasted into years.

Train still runs but no whistles...unless we get a stray conductor...but they do figure it out... I am working my azz off with a trainer and cutting back my portions..I gotta say this trainer thing is the best thing I have done for myself in years I have not been pushed this hard in years...if ever!

Super cute. I saw some little kid on the bike path yesterday. He had training wheels and he was way ahead of his parents. I creeped up on him slowly. He was going side to side and was all over the path. I slowly announced my presence and said I am going to pass you on the left side. He started to speed up to race me. So cute. I played along and let him win. He stopped where the path met the next street. I gave him a high five and told him how great of a rider he was. Kids can be fun, as long as I don't have to bring them home permanently.
