  3. We used to have a mixture of cinnamon and sugar in a salt shaker when I was a kid. Do you use any sugar? Yay, we have a Kirby cooking thread now.

  4. Yep - I'm praying snow season is done for the year! Of course, we now have rain season, wind season, and rain & wind season coming up But, damn it, I'm making the effort to get out there even in the rain. I ordered some doodads to help add fenders to my Roubaix, so that will help. Today's ride was wet, wet, wet, but no rain - just wind. 39 miles at 17+mph with one of my favorite local climbs at the halfway point. Pretty quiet out there as it seems most folks were home in front of their Zwifts If it ain't raining and ain't snowing, indoor cycling will never trump real outside rides. Tom

  6. Shoveled wet, heavy snow; once to clear sidewalk and deck, and second to clean up stuff thrown in driveway from the plows.

  9. Today will be a good day. Instead of dwelling upon the Monday-morning-slog-back-to-work (except for some people who are retired who will not be named, LJ ) I think it's proper to consider at the start of today the opportunities, and the small benefits and blessings in our lives to which we normally don't give much thought.

  13. Dear Employees Following is a daily breakdown of the 54 workers comp injuries last year. Please note that some weeks we had none and others we had 3 or 4. I averaged this out to about 1 injury per week, since we had 54 injuries and a year has 52 weeks. This makes it is hard for PITA in the cube next door to understand, so I have a favor to ask of you. Please try to check with your coworkers and only have one injury in the company per week. Thanks, Chris L.

  14. I always factor in a 3 trip minimum- one to get the stuff - another to get the right stuff - one to get the stuff you forgot/didn’t know about.

  17. I was on line at the sandwich section of the cafeteria. This made me eager with anticipation. The first person on the line ordered an absurdly complicated sandwich which required a lot of customization and time to make (and trips by the sandwich maker to at least two other parts of the cafeteria for special items). This made me a little annoyed. Then the next person ordered American Cheese on white bread with mayo. That struck me as the saddest lunch I'd ever seen. The sandwich guy tried to liven it up by suggesting tomatoes, or grilled veggies or a tasty side dish of potato salad, but she wanted none of that. That made me a little confused, and still sad. The sandwich guy asked if she wanted it grilled, but no, just cold and plain. This made me perplexed. Then I realized she was probably very happy with her sad little lunch and was looking forward to a tasty meal. That made me feel a little happy. The End.

  22. The only problem is that the bus is limited to two bicycles at any given moment. As you can imagine, there is a risk that you may not be accommodated if others are using the facility. The transportation authority works hard to encourage alternate means of transportation. There are park and ride lots where you can drive to and take the bus. There is also a rent-a-bike operation going on, mostly downtown.

  24. So I was due...maybe even past due The dermatologist suggests fewer showers and cooler ones... After today's work out...I was crusty...and a tad sore...especially after an hour or so of puttering around the house. Finally, I couldn't take it anymore...oh man...hot and lovely....It was a great shower I mean most showers are just showers...but this one just felt wonderful I am clean now

  27. Man, I really didn't like that show. I remember my girlfriend at the time loved it and liked Ross and Rachel because she said it reminded her of how we became a couple. Out of curiosity, I watched a few episodes and asked her: "surely I'm not this much of an idiot right?"

  28. The cinnamon toast, but the other sounds ok too! BTW, I piloted the cheese/PB/jalapeno sandwich (onion foregone because it will be eaten at work). Very good! The PB overpowered the cheese at first, but then the cheese comes through in the aftertaste.

  36. The rent a bike companies have hit Dallas. There are four or five of them and absolutely no regulation, so the damn things are left everywhere. New prank is to drive around and gather up a bunch of them and then leave them in someone's front yard. They are left laying in the park at the end of my street and after a few days, someone will stick one or two one top of the trash cans. I like they system shown, where you have to check them out and return them to a special rack. None of our bike share companies have that.

  39. The amount of radioactive waste that has poured out is truly scary. The ocean is growing so polluted it makes me cry. Aside from the radioactive waste, now shellfish seems to be unsafe as well due to the micro plastics. It is so sad. Fish just seems unsafe and generally unsustainable to eat. I feel pretty good about the hatchery fish, if I am lucky enough to catch one. In regards to mayo, I wouldn't say that great sushi has that in it. Some people enjoy the spicy mayo. However, I wouldn't call their way of eating tacky, just cause I don't prefer it. It's a form of fusion in my opinion. Peace.
