I can make this so much worse than @petitepedal and car shopping. I've been jonesing for this bike forever. I may or may not apply for my current interim position. It's a lot more responsibility, and a lot more hours, and a little more money. I get almost no free time, and getting days off is really hard. That means I have a ton of vacation time. I may cash it out in the spring. I have a friend at work who wants a new bike, and also wants to lose weight. I'm going to offer him my current bike for free if he loses the weight by spring. I will then consider this. I'd get stock wheels for now, no need for 4 thousand dollar wheels yet. Should one ride a bike they are not worthy of?

My Roubaix was way above my skill level when I bought it. 12 years later I'm an old fart on a nice old bike and people assume that back in the day I was a badass. At least that's how I spin it.

Thanks!! Stupid umps. That 4th inning Emmy has 2 outs. Had 2 girls 3-2 and walked both on beautiful pitches right in the middle of the plate at the bottom of the zone. Right at the knees. It was stupid. And the hit batsman was a girl leaning into the zone trying to bunt. Got hit in the hands. Horrible call. Emmy still had plenty to get out of the inning but coach had the luxury of going to another great pitcher so she did. Good to see different looks anyway. Reglardless we won?. Emmy want 2-2 and a walk at the plate. Great team effort.

My long weekend is over..at least the travel part...I still have tomorrow off. Had a 40 minute delay due to road construction in Menomonee...otherwise I made 2 quick stops one in IL for gas, a diet coke and a potty break....One in WI..a cheese break Mmmmmmm and a potty stop..I also bought a can of sparkling water...I left Normal about 1:30 and got home about 9:15....If I had left IL earlier...I would have made a stop or two at an antique shop or gift shop...just to get out and walk a bit...I was rather stiff getting out of the car... It was nice to get away....

I'd say that you left normal a lot longer than that ago.

Haven't used it in ages, it's really just a backup vehicle in case the Element breaks. With the new van there is no reason to keep it. But that's not the story. Hopped in and fired it up to pull out in the open & take some pix for Craigslist. Pulling out of the driveway there was a lot of scraping noise & the truck didn't feel right. Hopped out to check it out, ran over the box the mower came in. Jumped back in to back off the box, felt a sting on the back of my head. Looked around and realized there was a swarm of bees sharing my space, and a hive on the inside of the truck door. Set an all time record for the truck to house dash. Found some bug spray and wiped the little bastards out.

Do it, get the bike and a bell. The e-bike will help you arrive to work without being a sweaty mess. Just because it can go 28 doesn't mean you have to. Roll a respectable speed until it's wide open, then open it up. You'll love it. I used to have a 25 mile commute each day(12.5 each way). The lack of stress from not driving was awesome. It would take me an extra 10 minutes compared to driving. Some days I was faster than driving depending on traffic. I saved a ton of money and was in the best shape of my life. It was like 125 free miles each week. I would end up with 150-200 miles a week.

Commuters are snapping up ebikes here in NoVA/DC. Commute time is the biggest issue. Some customers are saving 20 minutes on a 20 mile commute.

Those are temperatures that cause lady's high heels to sink in asphalt. They have to move fast from car to office or store. Yes, I've seen this happen more than once, even once in eastern Oregon.

Yeah, I used to commute by bike. It dominated my day. I went in early to avoid am rush hour, left late to avoid the worst of the evening traffic. Add the need to bring in clothes to the office, it got old. Only did it one summer.

I'm not a fan of the dark themes, but I know some are - in particular @Road Runner. This is a dark theme with a twist. Depending on the time of the day, the background color changes automatically.
