I’m hopelessly addicted to imaginary people. I tried FB, but too many people there aren’t imaginary, and they’re kinda assholes. So, if you’ll have me back, I’ll be glad.9 points

My sisters and my Mom and I decided to go to the Catskills today This made me excited. The weather was very rainy this morning. This made me disappointed. We first drove to the cemetery and put some autumn flowers on the graves of family members. This made me happy but also very cold. I discovered that the shoes I wore weren't waterproof after all. This made me wet. Then we drove to the town we used to visit in the summers. We drove by the old house which looked nicely maintained and very pretty. This made me happy. Then we drove to the old restaurant for lunch. My traditional sister got the hot turkey sandwich as always. My wild sister got something different which is why she's wild. But my Mom ordered a BLT which is the first time in decades she ordered something other than the hot turkey sandwich. This made me shocked!!! The End5 points

That I lived in a small house in the country...Snug & well built...with a fire place...and probably a puppy.... a nice 1.5 car garage...with room for bikes and crap (one must have crap in the country)...I have seen some old farm houses that would be perfect..if they were just a bit better insulated and tight... Well...I don't have the money for that...but it is nice to have dreams...especially on a snowy day!.5 points

Took a hike with my wife in the early afternoon. We were the ONLY CAR at the trailhead! First time that has ever happened. I decided if the temp stayed above 60*, I would go for a ride when we got home. Thermometer read 60.8* when we got back, so I got in 30 @ 19 - which shows what a little less wind and a few degrees of temp can do for my spirit Then, got home and took my pup for a nice long walk around a neighborhood lake, and verified the ducks were still in place. Now waiting for my wife and our friend to finish making a delicious dinner!!! Tom4 points

We keep scrapers and brushes in the vehicles year around. Never know what might happen at higher elevations even during the middle of the summer. Often interesting to watch tourist deal with snow during the middle of the summer.2 points

5 x 4 combos are not all the same. There are redundancies in every case however. The main transmission has wide step ratios, the auxiliary splits it with close steps. 1st gear in the auxiliary is not used when splitting, as it would be redundant. It is useful as a low starting gear, or for an extra available gear for a downshift on a grade without doing a split shift. A typical progression would be 1 & 1 1st 1 & 2 2nd 1 & 3 3rd 1 & 4 4th 2 & 2 5th 2 & 3 6th 2 & 4 7th 3 & 2 8th 3 & 3 9th 3 & 4 10th And so on til 5 x 4 = 16th. Some combos have a close ratio 5th gear in the main that is not split, yielding a total of 14. Been over four decades since I had my hands on one of those, but it's not something you forget. Here's an old cowboy showin ya how it's done.2 points

Well, I'm in charge of collecting the dues. Shoot me a PM with your bank info, and I can take it from there. It really is worth the cost, and quite posh. Oddly, it also makes posters better cyclists, which is a nice added perk. Tom2 points

Happens to everybody. Truth is, the lyrics are like jewelry. They're nice, but the rockin bod, the dress, even the lingerie are more important (most of the time). My wife thought Hendrix sang 'excuse me while I kiss this guy'. That was a good one.1 point

Just (mostly) cleared oot the accumulated mail and swept and vacuumed. Daughter #1 and her long thick hair moved oot so now Ruby took over as the main hair generator! We need a new kitchen floor but I want vinyl and the Mrs. wants hardwood, so we'll live with what we got. Oops! Just acquired another task as we speak!1 point

Some people see things that are and ask, why. Some people dream of things that never were and ask, why not. Some people have to go to work and don't have time for all that. George Carlin1 point

Not at all, you never hear it hardly neither fore nor aft. I can only think of Olde Mother Hubbard, nursery rhyme or some such. I want to try these best ever squash, though, I do so love the blues and the greens, btw, know you the Turk’s Head variety? They not only look great and last long, they eat very well indeed.1 point

There was a really good tea sample that you sent, one of those with a ton of capital letters, it was awesome and you should get some for yourself. It is one of the 'last chance' teas, and it is pretty cheap for what it was (I think). It wasn't the smoky one, I am not a fan of the lapsang souchongs of the world, although the smell reminds me of camping because it smells like a fire. EDIT: I looked it up, it is this one, I think you would really like it: https://www.teasource.com/collections/last-chance-teas/products/darjeeling-balasun-estate-2nd-flush-sftgfop1-black-tea?variant=33862257541411 point

I like sprouts, I don't have them that often. My wife calls them a gassy vegetable. I never noticed things like that when I was younger. I’m particular about what I eat if I have a massage scheduled or a doctor appointment.1 point
