Thanks. As can tell from the other thread, turkey survives another day. Traditionally go to my mom's but wife not up to an hour plus drive each way so planned a private Turkey dinner for the two of us. Had to change the menu, so hamburgers tonight. But the good news is, looks like finally off the opioid based pain killers with withdrawal symptoms climaxing last evening and now using plain Tylenol.

I don't have to be back to work until Tuesday so I'm going to Georgia for a few days. Maybe I will do a little motorcycles racing while I'm there. Weather permitting, over the years I have become a fair weather racer. If it raining and muddy I'm not racing. I'm off to the airport for my early bird flight. I hope that everyone has a happy thanksgiving.

One thanksgiving when we had three foster kids we were having dinner at my in-laws. My mother in law served the pie and when she went back to the kitchen to get something my father in law took a green pea and put it on her piece of pie. She came back in and saw it and suspected the foster kids. She asked: “ok, who pead on my pie?” The kids about lost it laughing so hard. I miss my father in law.

Cooking breakfast for her family tomorrow. Then taking the camper to Brown County State Park. Infamous for mountain bike trails. Driving back to have dinner with my side of the family then back to the campground. A few other families coming as well. We have a keg. I have a big assed brisket to smoke tomorrow night for dinner Friday. Sat night is our annual dinner with about 5 other couples and their kids at Bigwoods Brew pub for cold ones and pizza. There will be no bicycle races, no softball or basketball games. Just lots of shenanigans.

I got back. Had to drive past WalMart enroute to Winn Dixie. Parking lot was jam packed and no way I was going to turn in there. Picked up the few items and each of the 12 registers were backed up. While ignored the "less than 20 items" line, each line other than that one averaged about 4 people back (that one at least 10 back). Found one where each person in line had just a few items. Only snag when I got up there, a few of the items were priced "with card"...and they changed "the card". I don't typically carry the card around since I don't typically shop at Winn Dixie, but just keep it in the car if I happen to pull in. They scanned the old card and scanned a new one which the old card activated and the discounts were applied.

Was a hit! About 15 years ago and 3 companies prior we started a pre thanksgiving chili cook off and it was really popular. I carried it over to my last 3 employers and today was the first with my current job. My Dept works closely with Corp Real Estate & Facilities so it was combined with the 3 depts. we had 5 Chili entries, I came in 2nd place. The winning chili was beanless.... We had fresh corn bread, pumpkin pie and fed about 20 folks. Somehow HR found out and they came by too! Looks like the tradition lives on in a new place!

In some professional settings I do use the DR. It is often during litigation or mediation. Don’t expect it from my staff nor desire it. I do expect it from my college students in my adjunct gig. I am not their friend or colleague. The curtesy title helps keep that line clear.

I prefer to drink my coffee in a nice clean coffee cup or mug, not a pecan. Besides, Georgia has pecans...Florida has nice clean restrooms. ?

I used to pizz off the boss. I worked hourly and the day before a Holliday they would often come around and say we could leave early. I asked with pay and they said no so I stayed and worked so they didn’t get to go home either.

I got to hang out with our surrogate granddaughter last night. Her nickname is Nanie and she calls me Uncle Nanie. We basically caused a ruckus at the restaurant last night, spilled glasses, paper napkin fights and general horseplay no parent would ever allow in public. It was awesome!

Last year, I was the victim of a huge barrage from BuffCarla because I brought home the wrong kind of Polish Sausage. I know how sensitive the topic can be.
