  1. Oh...this is really sad. You have been such a steadily happy and enjoyable person on the forum and all while dealing with so much. Life is not fair but it is about living. Please enjoy your time with WoSrapr and make every minute you share count. It sounds as though you have been a close couple who have shared a special life together. I had a couple of close scrapes in my life and it taught me that death isn’t horrible for the affected. In fact, it can be a blessing. It is hard on the survivors. I will be thinking of you when that day comes. I am sure she will worry about what happens to those left behind. When the time is right, be sure to assure her that all will be ok. Your character is being tested and it shines. You’re a good man Scrapr. Warm Canadian hugs for WoScrapr.

  2. I didn't mean to pour out a mess of words. It was just that we were in the middle of it. And had hope that the next thing was going to be the "cure". Now we are down to the last one. The Keytruda is a relatively new immunology drug. Instead of the chemo killing the cells it unlocks the immune system to kill the cancer cells. A friend of ours had her adrenal cancer "cured" with Keytruda when she got in a trial. So we have a tiny bit of hope. Tiny. But our pathways are closing. She has had 2 doses with one more today. The tumors seem to still be growing... WoScrapr had so much fun on our trip to the Volvo factory 2 years ago that she talked a lot about going to get hers. I promised her in the oncology ward she would get to go. In late January it looked like she was getting better. We put down a deposit on her trip. Which I had to cancel this week. I don't like to beg but if you hit your knees tonight say a fast one for WoScrapr.

  3. I am drip acclimating the two new clown fish I just picked up. My pup will not leave their tub. She is watching them careful to make sure they are on. Every now and then she licks the container.

  13. Them people there don't swim in cement ponds. They swim in farm ponds. If it's good enough for the cows to drink out of, it's good enough to swim in.

  15. I am so sorry to read everything that you and WoScrapr have been going through, but honored that you'd share your experiences with us. WoScrapr sounds like a remarkable woman. You both will be in my prayers and I hope we're able to give you some moments of levity and diversion. There is a lot of silliness on this forum, which I enjoy, but there are also a lot of caring, kind people and we will be with you.

  22. My attitude is only 10% of WoScrapr's. She remembers every care giver/nurse/scheduler/Doctor/hospitalist name. And knows of their kids & dogs. especially dogs. As a result she gets special treatment everywhere she goes. But that is how she has been since we met 27 years ago.

  24. I've been walk / jogging a few miles most every night, 2.5 to 5 miles. Tonight I actually ran for a couple hundred yards, not a moob joggling jog but a stretch out the stride run. Going down a short steep grade my belly was getting ahead of my feet, rather than fight it I stretched out the stride, picked up the cadence and caught up with the wayward belly. There were a couple miss steps and little muscle spasm in my back but everything settled into place and I was running, smooth gait, easy breathing, runners nirvana running. It lasted a half a minute or so, till my legs outran my lungs, but it felt so good. Gave me some hope. Maybe I can come back from the wreck I've become. I'll have to try riding one of the bikes. ?‍♂️

  33. I used to be a grocery carry out in high school. It was all paper then and about 5 or 6 bag sizes. We could fit the proper bags to the purchase. I could sort like items together and adjust the weight of the bags to the perceived strength of the customer. We had far less bag waste than I see today. Sometimes the old ways are a bit better.

  36. Great temps but very windy so I took off work early in the hopes of getting in 30+ miles. Damned flat rear tire at around mile 12. Hole in tube near spokes holes but rim strip looked good. Patched it and pumped it up the best that I could with a mini-pump. Shortly afterwards I ran into some cycling buddies of mine. They were heading towards my car. I stopped at my car and used a floor pump. Funny thing was that I only had about 40 psi in the tire but I thought that I'd pumped it up more than that. Took off with my buddies and less than a mile later the tire started going flat again. Headed back to the car and home. I put on a new tire and tube when I got home. The tire had seen better days. I made sure that the rim tape was on correctly. Looking at the old tube, the hole was on the seam where the tube halves are joined. Maybe it was just ripping for some reason? Anyway only 18.34 miles at 13.9 mph avg.

  39. He could have just said that all the workers should give their lives so he could get bigger yachts and better planes and more houses. I would be demoralized if I was working there. Sure, work what amounts to two full time jobs, add in the commute, stress yourself to hell, never see your wife, never see or have a hand in raising your kids, never have any interests of your own, and all so so jackhole multi-billionaire can add to his fortune while you quite literally throw your life away.

  40. Tuesday group ride. Pretty windy. We worked together on the way out but riders kept dropping off. Down to 2 of us at the turnaround. Took advantage of the push home. 31.8@18.2 Beer sure tasted good at the end!

  41. Wow. Just wow. I cannot imagine the hell you two are going through. That is amazing that Oregon has the Death with Dignity opportunity. So very scary yet reassuring. Not sure I could do it, but then I'm not in her shoes. The good fortune in her life right now is you. Please be sure to take care of yourself too.
