  1. Went completely unplugged this weekend to check everything out and work out the bugs. So far, I need to replace the coach batteries (not holding a good charge) and the fridge isn't working in the gas mode. It was fine before we left the house, so I'm thinking something rattled loose on the drive. Oh well...the joys of a new rig.

  2. I will come up with some whoppers because it's complete bullshit. My goal is to continue to get paid and retire. Beyond that, I don't care. I think that's reasonable, don't you? I hate the corporate game. That future trippin' stuff is crap. You know it and I know it

  4. It depends I guess. I sat down in 2006 and developed a long term career goal, and every time I wanted or needed something from the bosses a little outside my current(at the time) job description, I cited my career goals and how it would help. Reached that goal in 2015 by following the steps I set out for myself. In that case it worked Now, with the dream job and 6 years before I pull the chute, when they ask me about career goals, I tell them "not get fired in the next 6 years"

  6. A new to me MTB to shred trails with G. It had some pretty nice parts from another bike that suffered a cracked frame. So the dude bought a Nashbar frame and swapped everything over. It’s a ton of bike for what I gave for it. And it fits way better than the other one. The other one has a jacked fork. I would have fixed it but it just was really too small. the old one.

  7. That I found in my desk drawer. It might be from 2012, if I am reading the stamp on the cellophane correctly. But still crunchy. Chocolate chip.

  15. Someone asked me how much weight I've lost...I told her "Not as much as you think" but I am now wearing 8's & 10's instead of being tight in a 12... Food wise I am not doing anything crazy..I do eat fewer carbs..but I still do carbs, less cheese..but Mmmm..Me still LOVE cheese, I am drinking 64oz or more of water (tea, sparkling water and the occasional soda) daily, I make healthy snacks... I am doing less wine... As to exercise...well..you guys already know I am crazy..but I make sure I have rest days and days of easier walks... Being healthy, with a fair amount of strength, and balance and a decent fitness level are my goals. It is very hard to not struggle with the very very very...slow drop in weight...but I also need to enjoy life...I will be making a homemade pizza..either tonight or tomorrow...less fat or salt than anything I could buy fresh or frozen!!

  16. If I want this trend to continue...I will have to order more Snarky Tea...I use 2 bags in my pot!! My meditation practice (and oh it is practice) was interrupted by a squirrel running loudly across my deck..I looked up...and then there was "something" on my table..and I kept going back to that something..was worried it was a dead bird or something...NO the damn rodent dropped a piece of hamburger bun on my table!! I am checking things out here and having tea...and then I am off to run errands and enjoy the day before crappy weather moves in.

  17. ...the forum after participants. Was that his way of communicating who he likes and doesn't like? This bothers me greatly. I haven't slept or eaten as I worry over why SW doesn't like me. But he's not going to run me off with his passive aggressive actions. I'll show him. I will be here.... . . . . . . . . . ...every now and then, as per usual. ?

  20. I'm not sure what my goal is any more. I was totally happy in my position until I got a new boss 2.5 years ago. He's a prick. A petty, vindictive micromanager. I've had many colleagues quit as a result, and I've try to isolate myself away from him, but the strain is starting to cause some cracks. So I've spent all morning sending personal documents from my work PC to home, and have been moving personal belongings out of my office for weeks. I'd like to work here three more years until my sons are in college, but I'm getting ready to jump ship at any point. And with the knowledge that with a large company reorg currently happening, I might not get to make that decision for myself, ultimately.

  21. Mine started tonight..took tomorrow off..going to an eye glass thing to pick out new frames tomorrow..Some big "vendor" event...I had talked to my sister about going to lunch (conversation last weekend) but she "forgot" and would rather go to the dog park...so "f" her... I don't need to get together with her..(I get tired of trying to be a good sibling)...I plan to by some tea..maybe Earl Grey so I can do a milk and Sugar thing on Saturday when Rain & SNOW are in the forecast Cooking shows...a little cleaning and laundry and meal planning..Workout on Sunday after church.. Thought of a car wash and putting my bike rack on...I think I need to lube the hitch..any suggestions on what kind of oil or grease or whatever for the hitch and rack????

  27. ...I went for the long ride for the first time since the big rains hit a few months back. The lower American is still flooding the trail, but it's clear up river, and there's a really heavy Steelhead trout run this year. The swallows are back nesting under the bike bridge up at Goethe park. I think it's about 25-30 miles altogether, but I never clocked it on a speedometer. I went early, so ended up riding from about 10 am to 12:45 to beat the hottest part of the day. When I was stretching up at the bridge, I watched some poor fisherman drift a lure past about 40 trout from up above, and all they did was move out of the way when it went past them.

  28. I want to try and tie a ton of things together. With few words. If you look at the Western way of life, just about everything about it is inflammatory. Most Western diseases, cancer, diabetes, and a hundred others, depend on your inflammation to get going. So I do some things to try and control it. I wouldn't say I am all that good at it, just that I am better, and trying to improve. The first killer is sugar. I've cut way back on sugar, but not enough. The second is excess calories, one of my weaknesses. They get broken down into, you guessed it, sugar. That includes a lot of protein in protein shakes... The third is crappy fats. I am doing better here. You ought to know about this already, but, you should be getting quality Omega 3s every day, and Omega 7 from macademia nuts (you only need a tiny amount, TJ has a good price for them). Your cooking oils should be mostly olive and coconut oils. Something I've been meaning to do is make some ghee. It's not ideal, but is healthier than you might think. Celery juice, beet juice and dark fruit juice like Trader Joe's Power of 7 are all good anti-inflammatories. I put a cup of chopped organic celery in a blender, add 4 oz of organic beet juice, and 4 oz of Power of 7, and blend. If I say so myself, I nailed it with this one. I try and do it every day. You can't get the full benefit from Omegas from pills. You need to be eating fatty fish, and taking Omegas with it. One good, inexpensive, way to do that is to have sardines as a snack or a lunch. I know of a diet that really kills inflammation, but you'd never do it. Neither would I. It involves a 4-6 ounce portion of fatty fish for breakfast and dinner. And lots of high fiber foods. The Today Show got 3 women to try it for a month, at the end of a month, they looked ten years younger. It was amazing. And they all went out to a steak joint right after the show Anyway, you get the idea. Basically a Med diet but no bread, or wine, or anything I've forgotten that's fun and that includes salad dressing. Exercise plays a big role in this, of course.

  35. ...this. I have also learned this. Where I learned it, they also mentioned that more height on the leaf blades also contributes to a deeper root system. Grass wants to be pretty tall, so I have a tendency to let mine get kinda raggedy looking before I mow it. I'm on the cutting edge of a new lawn aesthetic. We are the meadow people.
