Kid #3 (SonofZ) is in his last co-op for his Mech Wng degree. An avid diver he wants to work in the deep sea submersible field. Through his own initiative he managed to get his co-op at a world industry leader, so I thought that was pretty cool, until this week. This week he took his first dip in a 3 man sub. And he had the gall to send me pics of him overseeing it going in the water and him in it. And to top it off, it was the sub built for and used in James Cameron's "The Abyss". I kind of hate him right now.12 points

Sorry that some have motion blur. Somebody wouldn't hold still. A stick is very entertaining.10 points

Tell Ryan thanks for asking. Rudy is growing... And learning. As expected as an airedale, he is smart - sometimes too smart for his own good. Potty training is going better than expected. We have a ways to go on that yet but continued improvement. He continues to be a joy to be around. He likes his food. No, I mean he really likes his food. Last night he decided he would consider sleeping here to wait for breakfast. The tile floor proved to be to hard.7 points

If Ryan would have enough energy and patience to keep up with an 11 week old puppy? She expects a lot of both. @Airehead5 points

Pico (no new pics cause I am at work) is home alone today, which means at 15 years old, knowing no one is home will get up on the couch and sleep most of the day. She may wander out into the back yard and bark hello at the neighbour dog and catch up on the local gossip5 points

I took my wife to the CCS to get a treatment. I stopped at the LGS on the way home and bought some steaks, cooked them on the grill when we got home with some sweet corn. After we ate she said I should go for a bike ride or take the kayak out. She makes all kind of demands3 points

For my coming coming out of softball retirement. To be honest I have been itching to play again but the nagging pain due to bone spurs in my heel make me a little nervous. But being in the field and dug out with my kids is freaking awesome. I went to the batting cages last night as I knew if I popped up or worse yet stuck out I’d never hear the end of it from them... Took me about 10 swings and I was feeling good again.3 points

Son of Z - Hey take these pictures of me in the sub so I can send them to my dad. He’ll think it’s cool and maybe will be a little proud of me. Z- Sum bitch look at that little fucker.... Yeah I get it, I’d feel the same!3 points

My method is even easier. I like to teach life lessons. Example, I divide 71-3/8 by two in my head and get 35-11/16 but my eyes are bad and I mark and cut at 35-9/16. I hand the two pieces to my son, who needed the board cut into two exactly equal pieces and when he comes back to tell me they are not the same length, I tell him life is not fair and if you want something done right, do it yourself. I then walk away smiling to myself. Problem solved.3 points

Lucky is planning to herd cats. Cats are sharpening their claws to resist herding. So far there is a stand off with the cats and dog about 4 feet apart just daring the other to come and start something. The cats who come up to her and don't try to start something just get their nose sniffed... Well maybe their butt too. Shila is resting up so she is ready when we let her and Lucky together to play.3 points

Saw him live in 1994. He shared billing with BB King. Muddy Waters' Band and Little Feat. It was an incredible night. Got to love anyone who could rhyme "sexy" and "apoplexy"!3 points

I mentioned Clippy in a meeting a couple weeks ago when someone referenced a help function in some software. The millennials just looked at me with blank looks.2 points

We asked him that very question last night because unexpectedly a little brother may be available. We actually want a little sister but this boy is a looker and from a performance breeding. Dad is a master hunter titled dog. Mom has a MACH in agility.2 points

I get claustrophobic just looking at that second pic. Cheers to him for his pursuit of his passion, and Cheers to you for raising a young man who has a path in life to pursue.2 points

Well. PtWc killed two socks and a bib last night with accompanying howls, so I'm guessing that unless Wo2 opens the door to the garage to let her hunt dragons (lizards), she'll spend the day in her cat tree, looking out the window at the backs of her eyelids or maybe a chipmunk or two.2 points

For most Americans who still live in the imperial world, this question is a bit like asking "What tastes better, fried chicken or fried walrus penis?" The overwhelming majority wiĺl say "fried chicken" without ever eating fried walrus penis and without knowing fwp actually tastes like a party in your mouth. Having grown up through the imperial system and lived through us converting to metric, I can say the metric system is way simpler and makes more sense. 90% of my thoughts involving units of measure are done in metric. Having said that, I still consider myself 6', 220lbs and never think 182cm, 100kg. Also any measurement over a foot with a measuring tape I still use feet and inches. My kitchen measuring items are still in cups, table and teaspoons. I guess I am a measuring version of bisexual. And for the record, fried walrus penis is just something I made up, and I have no idea what it would taste like. That is my story and I am sticking to it2 points

@JerrySTL - wow, I never knew Duane Allman played on that song. It's by far my favorite Boz Scaggs track and I guess that explains it. RIP, Duane.2 points
