Well FIL was released last night and was feeling well enough for a little drive so we went to Gardens of the Gods. Really spectacular. We also drove into Manitou Springs for lunch. Cool little town. Fortunately we got to se something other than the hospital while we were here.

First time in decades. Pulled the tent out the attic and survived the night.

Our bathrooms at work have sensors on everything. Surprised the bathroom and stall doors do not open automagically. The sensors have ruined me. I now expect faucets to turn on at my merest gesture and soap to be dispensed on demand. I wave my hands under the faucet at home and it just stares at me with what I am sure is faucet disdain.

Not read the other comments, but these can be very disconcerting when one is in a stall for a while and no one else enters the restroom to keep the lights on. I know from experience at our local grocery store.

They really do try hard. I really am humbled and grateful that we get to live here. Really nice neighbor in the farm house next door. Lovely property with 100’s of acres of protected wetlands behind our property. A great barn and an easy to tend house. I count my Blessings each day.

I'll fight you for that. Heck, I was willing to do it over nothing, but now there's a trophy involved? LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!

Today was an off day so I worked on getting the brush pile straightened up for the coming fire pit season. A cinder block and two 4 foot two by fours makes a good rack.

True but you can really see quiet a bit without ever leaving the car like we did!

It is pretty simple. Treat people the way you would like to be treated. Do the right thing. Hold your tongue and try not to speak in anger. Learn to listen. A little bit of kindness goes a long way.

I almost went dark side today. More like Gray side. A friend wanted to go on a trail instead of over at the park that is a paved path. The trail is graveled over a sewer line. She has a hybrid but i only have a road bike. So off we go. It was a beautiful day after a cold week last week. One of my favorite trails but I've only walked it. It was knarly I feel like I have to smoke a bowl right now

I came here to post Stan ridgeways don’t fence me in, but I was bedazzled by the completed Airedale acres. Yay!

I have no idea but they are done.

Bleach is not recommended for stainless steel. It corrodes the welds. Throw a denture cleaning table in there and you will be amazed at how awesome it cleans. I make a citric acid and washing soda natural version of the denture tab. It works well, too.

When I was initially discussing the flight change we were looking at a $600 change fee. I explained to her the reason why we were making the change and if they could help us out. I offered to get a note from the physician. The rep said that wouldn’t be necessary, said let me talk with my supervisor and after a few minute hold said they’d waive the change fees. That was a really pleasant surprise.

So it looks like we have this thing sorted out. Mild stroke as previously reported. They want him in the hospital a few more days for PT and cognitive therapy, basically get him safe to fly home and he can continue his recovery at home. Were all flying back to FL Wed, then WOChrisL and I are flying home Friday. He seems to be improving daily and should be in good shape by Wed. Kudos to Southwest Airlines for changing our flight at no additional charge!

I thought he just meant he and BuffCarla were gonna swap wardrobes for the event. You know, just to "spice things up" a bit.

As a pack rat, I still have the canvas Coleman bought is 1970’s up in attic. Water bleeds through even on first trip as we discovered. Canvas has probably rotted by now and afraid to assemble.

2 months ago, dearie bought our tickets for a local baroque music Christmas concert. I think it's just a few days before Christmas Eve. We've always enjoyed a Christmas instrumental or choral concert wherever we've lived.

I had 28 years of graphite, average shift I used twenty gallons of graphite. I made sure all my tee shirts and boxers were either black or navy blue. My work uniforms were navy blue and never came home with me CINTAS took care of the laundry. Our industrial showers had a good selection of industrial shower products. Retirement is nice, I don't blow black stuff out my nose every time I blow my nose.

Some of my distant ancestors took part in each of the three punic wars. This modern stuff pales in comparison.
