I'll try to include emotional reactions, but I'm not a real emotional guy. Friday I left work early (this made me feel OK) So we could drive to Norwalk CT. There was a restaurant next to the hotel that was a pleasant surprise (I felt pleasantly surprised). The cheap hotel was better than expected, which made me feel satisfied. Saturday started with the information that the free breakfast cost $12.99. This made me feel hungry still. I got cut off on the highway, but fortunately there was a driveway to dive into, so I did. This made the drivers in the exit lane of the Starbucks driveway feel terrified. But we were able to get coffee and breakfast food. We arrived at the car dealership in time to see our car driven onto the floor for delivery. I knew this was the last one in the country in these colors, but then found out it was about to be shipped to LA when I called, so they kept it for me. This made me feel successful . They knew we were in a hurry, so a real quick lesson, signing, my wife got to drive it out of the showroom. This made her feel ecstatic. Traffic was horrible, but the weather was glorious so a 200+ mile trip with the top down made me feel good. And we got home with 5 minutes to spare. Then we had friends over to drink beer and watch the Flyers lose to Dallas, which made me feel extremely angry, frustrated, let down, and anxious. Sunday was the day to clean the blower on the boiler to maybe stop the infrequent error codes. Too late, the error code was constant and we had no heat or hot water. This made me feel chilly. The manufacturer has agreed to replace the entire unit soon so I did not want to spend money fixing it. The Blower is $400. But since the problem was no voltage from the control board, the $300 price for that made me feel less disturbed. But a quick inspection showed some delamination, a quick solder joint reflow of the nearby transistor - fixed! This made me feel better about having spent too much on the car yesterday. On to hockey, we won easily, this made me feel like a winner. Listening to the Eagles game on the way home made me feel happy I was driving a nice new car with many other radio stations. The end.5 points

Here's a link to my guest post on Writers in the Storm Blog. This blog has spent several years in the top 100 blogs for writers according to Writer's Digest magazine, and has been in the top ten for a few years running now. I'm a little freaked out that they want me to become a regular contributor now.5 points

You are too high brow for this forum. You have goals and ideals and we have drivel and pull my finger jokes. But we need you to raise the bar for us.4 points

Post your ride pics. Chris gets the credit for the idea. This one is from last month before we had snow.3 points

#27 I've ridden this, very nice indeed. Old Mission Peninsula (M-37), Michigan This hilly 36-mile trip takes you from Traverse City to Mission Point Lighthouse and passes beautiful vineyards, farmlands, rolling hills, and the Grand Traverse Bay along the way. The Mission Point Lighthouse at the turnaround is located at the 45th parallel, which is halfway between the North Pole and the equator.3 points

I ride Fall creek rd(#17) regularly. It's cool, but not one of the most gorgeous roads even in the county. The photo is actually the inner park rd, Jenny Lake loop, probably 20 miles to the north. It's actually much prettier. Honestly the Sinks Canyon rd is one of my favorites.3 points

For the record, I am NOT going to comment on a lady's weight, age, likelihood of a pregnancy, or anything even remotely related to that! I will, though, comment on @jsharr's and @Kzoo's fat azz bellies and the odds they might actually be pregnant. Your thread was doomed from the get go.3 points

I keep going back and reading the title to this thread. Vacation destinations, although there are some nice destinations my favorite vacations are the family time together. Disney is not my thing but we had a fabulous vacation when we took the kids there. The travel was even fun when done together. My three sons when they were growing up had fond memories of the cabins we rented at Pymatuning State Park, less than thirty miles from home. In 2018 we rented three cabins and had one of the most memorable vacations ever. The grandkids running free from cabin to cabin enjoying their cousins. The bike rides to the beach, the campfires. Cell phones made it easy to keep track when one of the parents couldn’t find one of their kids. Group text: Has anyone seen Clarissa? Immediately answered by someone: She is over here playing with Bella.3 points

I love Hawai’i. Absolutely fabulous. And every island unique. But I love every vacation! Outer Banks, NC is somewhere we go every summer. Very family oriented, we don’t leave the house/pool/beach the entire week, all meals eaten together. Even summer weekends on Lake Erie are like vacations.3 points

For a day: Kings Dominion in Virginia, a 2.5 hr drive for us. The rides and food! For a U.S. week's vacation: Badlands to Black Hills SD to Yellowstone National Park. Such great, unique, and inspiring scenery. For a foreign week's vacation: an Aegean Odyssey Cruise: Athens, Mikonos, Crete, Rhodes, Coast of Turkey (Ephesus, Troy) and Istanbul. Great scenery, history, low prices for food, fun on the ship, etc.2 points

Sometimes I don't even realize the parodies are parodies until after I've posted. and see the other thread. But I do agree that sometimes a thread gets a lot of responses because it starts a running joke or it's easy to post a quick quip. I'm often checking the site from work and I may not have the time to respond to a post that's a bit deeper or requires more thought. I tend to think about those with an intention to come back, but whether I do or not depends a lot on how busy I get. One of the main things I like about this forum is the variety. There's a good load of silly which I can often use during a work day, but there are also posts where people share challenges they are facing, personal losses, family issues or some of the things they are facing during the day. Those are the posts that really help me get to "know" people and care more about them.2 points

I don't think her ass was ever fat - by SW standards - and has gone from "lean" to "schralping lean". I'm gonna go out on a limb, and say that DH probably makes the ultimate seat mate on a flight.2 points

I was thinking of the several parkways (Blue Ridge, Shenandoah, etc) that follow the same route. Not the actual trail. But now that you mention is, I could take an ATV and take out a few hikers at various trail entry points. ?2 points

Would be so much better if the cleaned up those slimy rocks and put in a boardwalk with a Ferris Wheel.2 points

Much as I would like to return to Japan or Malaysia, those were unique trips where we stayed with family and had guides fluent in the local language. I think I'm getting a bit old for 17 hour flights though. Florida isn't a vacation spot. It's a place I'd like to live. I'd probably prefer more local trips. A couple of weeks on Cape Cod would be nice. I know a couple of places where if you walk off the porch you are on the beach and if you go the other way there are miles of relatively flat biking. My favorite vacation is in the secret lab.2 points

Honest mistake I guess. I work for a program that works with troubled parents. This requires that small children be driven around. A booster seat just arrived. The delivery guy asked me if I was pregnant. I emphatically said “NO.” Then I gave him the look I gave @Kzoo the delivery guy backed away slowly as if I were a wild animal. lol2 points

I do. You don’t know what you are missing with the things I have in my life. Not everyone needs to procreate. Some of us focus of helping the lives of young people cause their parents have no time or the drive to do this. Like, writing grants, building bike parks and teaching their kids to ride.2 points
