  2. Well I hired my wife's nephew to do the flooring. He's the super for a very large apartment complex (converted mill buildings) and has a lot of experience at laying floors. He was here yesterday to remove the old flooring and put down the glue. It's 9:29am, I've fed him breakfast (fast food unfortunately) and this much floor is done already. He's worth more to me than the high dollar contractors. He was here at 8am One more row and then the partials for this side of the room and the fridge, stove and extra base cabinet can be moved to do that part.

  3. Almost 2 yrs. ago, I wrote to a national outdoor sports gear and clothing store chain. I bitched that their women's clothing colour selections were crappy dull and mud colours...that didn't jive with changing demographics of their customers especially in big and medium cities...more non-white women who wouldn't wear puke colours against their face colour. Since having very dark brown/black hair and yellow /golden skin tones, are often not conducive dun/dull or puke colours, I told them to stock clearer, some brighter and jewel colour shades for women. I got a $50.00 store coupon ...and promptly used it to pay for a Terry saddle to replace my broken bike saddle. Today, I saw this saddle in another catalog. It reminded me of what I did. The store did /does for next seasons, stock women's apparel in lighter, clearer and happier colours. I used the latter adjective --happier, brighter colours. This is how I changed the consumer world for 1 national chain. The end.

  4. Yea. The floor is in. We will now put the kitchen back together. There are plans to dynamite the corner base cabinet out again and replace it with a commercial cabinet but we are still negotiation with the companies involved for some monetary relief. The nephew however will do any work in the future not the representatives of National Restorations or their subcontractors. They are not welcome in my house. Now womaxx has here coke shrine kitchen/diner that she's always wanted.

  8. Not in Orlando, but daughter did. Being 6 hours ahead of us, they are already out and about with the first snow of the season. Photo lifted from video that greeted us as we awoke, the other an actual photo. They live in the lower altitudes with milder winters, but with the in-laws away, spending the weekend in their home. Altitude of the town around 4000 feet.

  12. At night, yes. During the day, we worked to validate and normalize civil rights won during the previous generation. We went DIY. We questioned authority. We spoke truth to power. And we got smacked with economic recession and factory closures, oil spills, mid-east wars, and family values. Boomers tied our hands with personal devices and game controllers. We confuse motion for action, entertainment for living, and stuff for wealth. Our vision turned inward and our focus shrank to the size of television screens, Gameboy, a PS2. Individually wrapped became our mode.

  13. Well, earlier this week the principal sent us all a link to online teacher training about culturally responsive teaching. The first 800 people who complete two modules receive a Lenovo tablet and stand. At first I was skeptical because the training cohorts began forming in April of 2018. Surely, 800 people have completed two modules by now? But, no. Last night I completed the required tasks, and my Lenovo tablet should arrive within a week. I already looked up student data apps compatible with Android.

  17. It will be shipped from harbor Springs, MI Thursday. I have been looking at different trail groomers since i made the agreement with our county park department to groom 6 miles of multi-use trail for fat bikes, snowshoes, classic and skate style xc skiing and sled dogs. My home built groomer worked but It wasn't great. Also took more passes on the trail to get a good surface. Now I want all of you to get your dancing shoes on and do a snow dance for us. I want to groom more than twice this winter like I did last winter. I had been grooming at 4 inches of snow but the park grooms at 6 so we won't be starting as quick. Sno-master 48 I will be pulling it with my ATV with tracks. Plan is that it will also be going to Mohawk, Michigan with me a couple weeks this winter. I will be spending some time there training the dogs for the Jack Pine 30 race. While we are on that subject who is coming to Gwinn, MI to handle dogs for me at the race on February 15? I could be persuaded to buy that kind person a beer or 2. Does anyone here even know where Gwinn is located? I'm thinking the person with the she shed may have an idea. @smudge http://www.up200.org/

  18. Daughter went to husbands childhood home and caught the first snowfall. While they set up the lower floor as an Airbnb, his parents still live in the upper floor...but they were out of the country...and had their car as took them to the airport. Had the chalet all to themselves. (Summer photo of the chalet.)

  22. Yeah, it's really, really nice. It lifts your mood. This seems to work, even when I am laid up on the couch. Lavender, eucalyptus and some others. I love lemon and eucalyptus. Siberian fir is nice.

  29. Definitely not. OB is something that rich kids are able to enjoy. Never been in a survival situation. I ran low on supplies on a backpack trip once. My husband spent the night out in a park one time. They ran out of light and energy. They had to sleep on the ground in their bike clothes. I think there was some huddling that night, but the three guys rarely speak of that part of the trip. LOL Luckily, they had a lighter. They built a little fire before all the cuddling. Ambiance.

  32. He farted in the lunch room before. It was loud. I was already on my way out the door. I am going to start eating in the hallway. There is a south hallway that has glorious sunlight. It isn't far from where I can use a microwave. These toxic conversations in there are bad for all involved. I want no part of it. It's safer in the public hallway.

  45. I got mud on my face too but it was thrown up there by the dogs and rig. I mixed some soap in and rubbed it around. It didn't work for me either. I guess I need a front fender on the 3 wheel rig.
