  1. Damn where did the time go? I think her hitting 50 is weirder to me than me turning 50 as she’s 4 years younger than me. Now I feel old too!?!? She was 17 when we met 33 years go! Did I say where did the time go!?!! Have a fun day on tap & a big party planned for tonight.

  2. Put up the last of the fascia all by myself. Basically the porch roof portion. The top blocks for the posts made things tricky, and HoSmudge put a super tight wrap of d-edge on those corners. A little nipping here and there, and it was installed. Yup, pretty proud of myself.

  3. With my good friends in Toronto this fall. All of us are cyclists and have been for past 30 years. All of us have cycle toured in several countries (not together. Our separate ways) and all still cycle-commute. The woman with whitest hair is probably in her late 50's, younger than I (@60). She had her own cycling and walking tour company in Toronto for a few years. The one on left at back, is the oldest @approx. 63 yrs. She was a transportation analyst in govn't….cycling, transit, driver licensing (for seniors) for province of Ontario. She recently sustained a concussion when she was doored while cycling in a separated bike lane in this summer. AFter university, she started off as a bike courier in downtown Toronto. None of us dye/colour our hair. Other 2 also love tennis...playing and watching the game. The other 2 are also very good on taking apart their bikes, changing flats, etc. You never know what people are doing in their lives..by just looking at them.

  9. Too many to estimate. I found it more interesting than The Godfather, MUCH better editing and more relevant to my generation.

  12. of the fridge (overstuffing was the main culprit, carelessness a close second). Like any good incident, it often takes two problems to trigger it.) I got off fairly easy - just spilled some ketchup on my sock and the floor and the top shattered, so now we have a nearly full bigass bottle of ketchup with no lid. But the milk held up with just a corner dent, and it is full also so that could have been a mell of a hess. We have a fairly soft vinyl floor so glass might not have shattered, but it is snice not to have to worry aboot that. So @2Far, are plastic containers causing risk homeostasis? I would probably have been more careful with glass. Seems like we really need to finger oot plastic recycling.

  21. I was really surprised by how poorly Francois did considering how impressive he had been previously, and I kept thinking the same thing - he is an old guy against youngsters both with better reflexes and faster recall. Yup, Emma and James are both naturals at jeopardy! That was a fun tournament, and great for Alex - if he has to quit it, I think he can go oot satisfied with that as a grand finale. And Dhru (sp?) was really a class act with his nice note to Alex.

  22. Yeah. It's a penalty in the NFL to remove your own helmet on the field. This a personal foul to remove someone else's helmet on the field. It's a felony to attack someones head with a helmet either on the field or in a alley. Your terminal PRI has finally spread to your brain.

  27. The first time music grabbed my soul, and carried it off, was from the Beatles first American album. I was on paper route, and just stood there, thunderstruck. Gave me my love of music. Recently I've been playing the Beatles a lot, mostly from the albums before Sgt Peppers. This is a lot like sex, as the twig is bent, so grows the tree. i got lucky with the Beatles. It could have been the Bay City Rollers, or rap, or...

  30. I mean, I wouldn’t run after a large angry man with a weapon, but surely it was an emotional night. Usually these these get snuffed out with a few linemen, which was about to happen.
