Do not visit him if you are trying to lose weight...I would have to stay at least a week to eat all the great food and restaurants he was suggesting 4. 2. We were slammed. You would never know that we are under a viral threat. It was take my money all day long. We are practically sold out of kids bikes until we restock. Mostly 8-12 year olds who are out of school for 4 weeks. Parents bought bikes, racks to take bikes on trips, we had six sales people and four in service and were busy all day. Total sales were almost $42k; an unheard of number for March. Those are July numbers when the tour is on. We had some good beer after restocking. Went home and had a good pie for dinner.

  3. Went for a ride in Northern Virginia. The W&OD to the Custis trail to the Mount Vernon trail and back to the W&OD. 27 miles. It’s a pleasant ride along the Potomac River with monumental views and the trees starting to bloom. Stopped at a local landmark. The Weenie Beanie has bee here for over 50 years. Never eaten there but it’s said that they have the best unhealthy food. Chili dogs, half-smokes ( a DC thing) subs, fries, wings and rings. No tables carry out only. The Seven is sporting new bar tape. Specialized S-Works. Grippy stuff, we’ll see how it lasts.

  7. Schools closed indefinitely. School leaders working Sunday to plan. All staff in my schools working Monday to both figure out how to educate kids with very complex needs when they cannot come to school AND how to close down schools for a longer time than we ever do because our kids qualify for 12 month education during typical times. These are not typical times. Honestly, I am feeling the pressure of my job right now.

  8. Had a great visit with @petitepedal this weekend! I wish COVID-19 hadn't affected our ability to visit the blinds and a few other things. It snowed Friday night so our viewing of the birds was a bit different on Saturday. Luckily that worked in our favor for photos!

  16. I finally got Fios, the cheapest plan, after years of getting TV by antenna plus Amazon Instant Video and my first choices among the 5 semi-major stations I get were History and National Geographic, which I enjoyed so much when I last had cable TV. Ever since Fios was installed Thursday, the History channel has been showing mostly "Ancient Aliens" - spouting a lot of the Eric von Daniken-type stuff from "Chariots of the Gods" that's been completely debunked for decades. When that's not on, we get hour after continuous hour of "Coin Collecting with Mike Mezack," "Counting Cars," and "Pickers." Not a single thing about an era, war, or social history? Instead we learn that there are people who believe a "dark, supernatural force" cursed the ancient Anasazi and forced them to flee their homes. Oh, yeah, and it didn't rain for years! Meanwhile, National Geographic has been showing "Drugs, Inc." episodes for the past 27 hours straight. It's going to continue for 8 more hours when it begin showing a variety of shows including "Cooking With Emeril." I'm learning a lot about geography. For example in Miami, drug dealers get nervous when there are a lot of cops around and their big season is during the college "Spring Break" each year. They saw me coming!

  21. Wegman's is the heavy hitter and Topps is second. Aldi third. Price Rite a sad fourth. @petitepedal eats expired stuff all the time and she is fine. If you run out of food come here. I always tend to have too much in the freezer and the basement fridge. Bring your lovely Pat. I don't have any cat food but I have lots of dog supplies. Also come here if you need well water to refill your jugs. And come here to do laundry we are tested germ free. And bring my favorite dog over to play-- that part is important. @Randomguy, you can come too if you run out of food. I'll make you pancakes. But don't ride the bus-- some guy just rode greyhound from NYC to Rochester and he has tested positive.

  23. How about the few of you that want to ruin it for the many cut out your silly veiled attempts at making posts political. While you're at it, stop insulting each other. Most of us have a stressful life, this place is supposed to be fun, and it usually is. I've asked nice over the years, at least a hundred times. I really feel like a broken record. Still, after all that begging, people continue to show their worst side. Lots of good people have been driven away due to the constant negativity. Here are a few I miss. @Thaddeus Kosciuszko @AirwickWithCheese @F_in Ray Of Sunshine @kingtermite This site really is no fun to run and I pay a lot to keep it going. Please see this post, I am still very happy to give the site over to anyone who will commit to keeping it running. If you'd like to take over, please let me know and we'll work on transferring the database and files to your server.

  29. Yeah, I tried not to say anything because, you know, I'm not a gang member. You can't have comedy without the conflicts of life. Irony, conflict, these things allows us to laugh, see ourselves in different light, cope with the world around and within. Curtail those things at your own peril. Cheese only exists because his actions are outside the norm. Many would read something bad into his behavior. RG is really a wheel chair bound, cross dressing, porn video producer in real life. He comes here and pretends to be a Nazi sympathizer. What are you gonna do? Fugettaboutit.

  41. We have two cases in Allegheny County, one in the county just south. As I said in another post, driving on Saturday night felt like being in a Walking Dead early episode. Extremely light traffic verging on being a ghost town.

  42. I haven't noticed. I just notice my dearie's beard. Seriously, I don't really notice men in that kind of way anymore. I notice if a guy in my age, if he is fit or not. I'm gauging the guy more on health rather than coolness or attractiveness.
