  1. Still no softball. We've looked into an on-line virtual pitching coach. She has a wait-list and we are on it. She said that this virus thing has done amazing things for her virtual business. She's one of the few that can say this. We still go to private hitting lessons weekly. But it's one-on-one with a coach and nobody else in the facility. We still pitch 4-5 times a week in the front yard. Still no triathlons. Not sure what will happen there. Hopefully fall cross season is still a go. G has been downstairs on the trainer and running outside. But no swimming. Kids have adopted well to no school (well, E learning). Em talks our ears off when we get home. I think she misses the social aspect. G just wants to know "What's for dinner?" Both of our positive patients have recovered as well as our "patient under suspicion" all of them are back in "gen pop". Work is chugging right along. Wife is splitting time home and office. Everything is as good as can be expected, just wish we could camp and softball. How are you guys doing?

  9. This is up in Lake Placid. I took my parents for a long weekend up there and they loved it. Years later my Mom would tell me how she would sometimes still imagine sitting out by the lake and just watching the clouds roll over and how it would bring her calm. That's one of the few places I'll actually get up early enough to see the sunrise (at least on some days)

  11. The new Bontrager saddle came today! Took off the beautiful Selle San Marco Trans Am ass hatchet and installed the Bontrager. Will take a 6MM allen with me on the first ride as I know the fit will need some sorting.

  14. The family cottage in New Brunswick. It is now owned by my sister and her husband when Mom and Dad were too old for the upkeep but it is still the family gathering place. Of the other 10 cottages there, 7 of them are relatives or family friends. It is where I spent my summers growing up with my cousins as my friends and where my kids met and built relationships with their cousins, and their second cousins. It is the first place I ever did a SCUBA dive when an older cousin brought gear when I was 9 or 10. It is my happy place.

  24. If there was a place I'd like to go to more often it would be the Tides Motel Falmouth MA. It's sort of a fleabag with great location. We go there park the car and don't move it for a week or more. Everything is done on a bike. The beach is at your back door step, the harbor is on the front door side. It is from where that boat is tied up that my ash scattering trip will begin.

  26. This is a stream in the Catskills in the town we'd visit every summer. I grew up in an apartment in NYC, so the summers in the Catskills was my chance to walk all around, ride bikes, and play in the streams.

  27. First task every morning, in the dark, is to get the dogs out for their morning pee and get the newspaper for WofTy. No paper in the driveway. Got the dogs back in and went back down to see if I could find the paper. Looked in the bushes. Under the truck. Both sides of the end of the driveway. With the wind blowing so hard, and the newspapers being so light these days I looked across the road and down a ways and there it was. For once diligence paid off and WofTy is happy.

  29. Mackinac Island. Yes its a tourist trap w/ a lot of fudgies walking aboot. But the place is huge at 8 miles around. And most of the people are downtown where all the business are at which is aboot a mile long. I enjoy riding on it. I also got to explore the internals of the island very well and biked on roads I never have before which was so much fun. The perimeter road M185 is flat, but the inside is all hills. Mornings are best because boat loads of peeps aren't unloaded yet Night riding around it is fun also. There's strava segments too Great bars/restaurants for food and good times. BCC has never been and would like to, and I keep trying to entice her to go. Hoping next year Sure would be a sweet place to have a vacation home. There's plenty of spots along the road to relax and take it all in and relax. This is my favorite spot, Fort Holmes (one of two forts). At the highest point on the island and built by the British, it was a good spot to kick some ass in the war of 1812. Also a nice two mile climb.

  32. They were shooting hoops and having bicycle races with my son. I wish I was there. The three year old twin buddies have so much energy, they didn’t slow down for a minute during the whole video. The six year old has some great ball handling skills but can’t throw the ball high enough to score. The eight and twelve year old girls discovered they could see who was watching so they kept circling past the camera to see who was watching and say hi. The four year old girl was racing her twin brothers on a big wheel trike. They beat her every time. This isolation would be horrible without technology.

  38. I put mine in an 8 qt. stock pot. Fill it with cold water. I add any vegetable scraps if I have them, onion peel, celery ends, whatever you've got. Bring it to a boil and then lower the heat to a simmer. Don't cook it too fast. I let it simmer for 4-6 hours. Let it cook down so it is rich with flavor and not cloudy. A good stock is clear not cloudy. I don't always get it right. It adds so much flavor to the soup. I keep my freezer full of stock(beef, chicken, ham, and vegetable) and use it as needed.
