Never got the recognition they deserved. Everyone knows what a Hurst W-30 4-4-2 is but very few would know what an F-85 is. They were pretty cool3 points

Nothing says "SAFETY" more than snapping a pic of your speedo while doing 80 in a Z71 pickup. Also, what is up with the zip tie pads stuck to the top of your steering column? Was that from your old phone mount?3 points

BIG kudos Short story long - My HR monitor doesn't read correctly. I originally purchased my Garmin Edge bundle in 2013. It worked in the beginning, then became erratic After some time I decided to buy the strap (excluding the sending unit). I recall it working somewhat, then not I was playing around w/ it this past weekend and it would read ≈+100 of what my HR would actually be e.g. 190-230 bpm (while riding). Anywho, I emailed Garmin last week and received an email back last night. Gee, I wonder what they'll say Well, they're sending me a new HR monitor for free This one is a dual mode which is bluetooth in addition to ant+. My Edge is only ant+. I was quite surprised. While searching the internets, I found mention of someone saying they also received a new HR monitor at no charge. Seems like their customer service is kick ass This is a great company.3 points

OK, there's a story here and we need to hear it. No one hyperextends both of their big toes unless it's while jumping from a 5th floor window while saving a baby from a burning building. Make with it...3 points

But I forgot to turn on Garmin tracking until I’d already ridden awhile. I just like the Relive app. https://www.relive.cc/view/vYvrDZnm7L63 points

Hi everyone! I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Ty and I currently live in the Pacific Northwest. On April 30, 2016 I will be leaving on a cross country bike trip from Portland, Oregon to Portland, Maine covering over 5,000 miles in about 4 months. I'm doing the ride to raise money for cancer awareness with the proceeds going to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. I'm pretty much set up to go but signed up here in case I needed some advise etc! Best, Ty2 points

Never had mine tallied, but typically made it home in time for dinner. If I didn't make it home for dinner and after the sun went down, then there was a possibility that I would be tallied.2 points

I hyperextended both my big toes over 25 years ago. The right one still aggravates me on a regular basis. It's been really bad this year. I'm sure the patio work had a lot to do with that. I have had to shift my cleat position on my shoes back a little further or it gets achy on a longer ride.2 points

OK someone has to ask..... What's the point of this thread? 100% on the people in my office right now are male over 60. That will chance in a few minutes when Julie comes in and then only 50% of the onsite workforce will be male over 60.2 points

Their customer service rep was very friendly to me when I called to get help with syncing. The problem was user error. And he was so damn nice about it.2 points

I've had that happen when a storm front is moving in as my Garmin's use barometric pressure. I've also seen it happen when the altitude is wrong at the beginning of a ride. I've seen below sea level when I was at 450 foot altitude. This often happens if the barometric pressure has changed since the last time you used the bike computer. As @bikeman564™ mentioned, Strava has an altitude correction option. My Garmin 520 has a way of setting the altitude for places. That way if you start your bike computer at the same place, it knows what altitude to start with.2 points

I find that my Garmin heart rate monitor often reads around twice of what my actual heart rate is. No way can my actual heart rate be over 200 bpm. This often happens in dry weather when I'm riding with a technical jersey before building up a sweat. I've heard it described as 'flappy jersey syndrome' where the jersey causes static electricity. It usually goes away if I wet the heart rate belt or apply some of that gel used when doing EKGs. Speaking of Garmin Edges, my trusty 520's screen is going out. It's developing a lot of lines where the pixels aren't working. This just started last week and is getting worse. So for my birthday on Sunday I'm getting an Edge 530!2 points
