  1. Cat dragged me downstairs for her treats. Let her out on the back (enclosed) porch to bird watch. She's never been an outdoor cat, but thinks she is. A few turkey families came up near the door to view the cat. Then I decided to go out and fill the bird feeders. There were six moms and a dozen or so baby turkeys. They were very curious about what I was doing. I was up on my deck, so I dumped a cup of bird food over the railing. They came a waddling over, but only got so far, so I dumped so more over and went inside. Interesting dynamics between them. Two of the moms had older

  6. Couldn't use my camera because I'd need to open the window and it was in the bedroom with the sleeping wife. These are from my phone. If you look past the cat (Cookie) you can see one of them.

  10. I am concerned about this as well. My soaps are lightly scented, because I do not like having strong scented body products. My body lotion is unscented. Common fragrances are lavender/rosemary, tea tree and eucalytus, citrus bloom (very light floral with citrus of bergamot, grapefruit, orange), Ylang ylang, and patchouli. I am making a bacth of coffee soap for Phoenix (Chef Neil). My soaps are olive, coconut, palm, shae, and vitamin e.

  12. I define success as good happy empowered employees, customers that keep coming back & a moderate profit margin. To that end you must provide value to your customer. Do that & you have recurring revenue, while providing good margins, which allows good pay & benefits for employees & a decent margin. Value drives all

  18. I had a standing rule in that if I pulled a car over and it was a pretty woman she was getting a ticket regardless. Tried to flirt or show cleavage, nope. I figured they got over enough in life due to their looks and weren’t gonna get over this time. So your inflatable boobies wouldn’t have worked on me! 😁

  23. 55 miles. 4 hours, 4,400 feet climbed. My Cyclemeter recorded 3,442 feet but the Garmins on other bikes recorded 4,400. Nice ride in the country. Middleburg to Bluemont, up Mt Weather, descend to Paris VA. Stop at Sky Meadows State Park for water and bathrooms. Delaplane where we saw Robert De Niro’s place. He has a nice vineyard. And back to Middleburg.

  26. I had vegetables with mystery meat. I think it was sliced pork loin but I didn’t label it when I packed it in freezer bags, I just put the date. I cubed the meat, added half dozen cloves of fresh garlic, carrots, celery, potatoes, red peppers from the garden, zucchini from the garden, red and yellow tomatoes from the garden. I would have added corn from the garden but my wife has had issues with corn lately. Coarse black pepper and a shot of Catalina dressing. It turned out good. I added Tabasco to mine.

  28. First, define success. Is it the amount of money the owner makes? Is it happy, well served customers? Is it a business where the employees feel like part of the family? Is it a business that is established for a long time? Is it a socially responsible business that fills a need in the community?

  30. 45 years ago I was hauling truckloads of the stuff from the plants where it was made to fertilizer plants and it wasn't even regulated. More recently, I was hauling it over frozen lakes into diamond mines up in NWT and Nunavut where they used it to make big holes in the ground.

  39. I have little expertise with cuts affected by blood thinners - my formal coursework and major experiences were in care and prevention of athletic injuries and those teenagers I bandaged, taped, etc. were in great physical shape and not on blood thinners. I agree with Airehead: those in an urgent care center should be trained in stopping the bleeding, applying a triple antibiotic or other med and proper bandaging. If, after the injury occurred, it didn't begin slowing after a few minutes and continue to slow down, I'd wrap it in whatever's handy and head for professional help. Either
