So I went to Road America for the day. It's something about watching vintage cars and motorcycle racing that I like. It's funny to see a car racing with the same tires that you have on your sidecar. The guy who owned this was a factory superbike racer in the 70s and still has the superbike my favorite car of the day5 points

I was returning from Home Depot in my car and glanced at the "oil change" reminder tag. I had gotten my oil changed on Valentines Day and 7 months later, am still clear of the 3,000 mile reminder mileage. Of course, I hate that they say 3k when I usually change it at 7k+, but whatever. Anyway, due to COVID, I have more miles on the bike since Feb 14th than I do on the car @dennis or @shootingstar regularly can say that, but not me. Gotta love being able to ride more and drive less!4 points

Walnuts are the secret ingredient for good crunch. I also used plenty of earl and heat to get them crispier. Now all I need is to get a little whole wheat or buckwheat in the mix. I am thinking of a small batch of jalapeno corn bread later.4 points

Remember Garth? His tires weren’t even broke in at 6,000 miles. He ran them until the air was showing through.4 points

30 miles with my friend. We started at the Redondo Harbor & rode the strand along the coast passing Marina Del Ray, Venice Beach and turning around at the Santa Monica Pier. I live in Orange County so this was way out of my way for me but my friend really wanted to do it. It was fun though.3 points

Aside from lots of laundry...a trip to the farmer's market, work on making seasonal changes on my deck..dishes, cooking, and working on my den..remember the goal is it will be my workout room by the end of the month3 points

That's alright. I have a John Deere lawn tractor and I want to make it radio controlled. Resisted the urge so far.3 points

With a good deck, you could take some time to paint it like one of your frames, see if you could cobble it into a self propelled machine, put a bit of framework on the back so you could stand behind it while it moves and maybe bore and stroke the engine to handle the extra load,3 points

I was going to close down my pool this weekend but my son stopped over yesterday to wish me a happy birthday. I told him I was about to close the pool. He said he would talk to Cora and see if she wanted to come over for the last swim of the year in papa’s pool. I’ll wait until Monday to close it. Cora is the granddaughter that likes the pool even when it’s cold. When I opened the pool in the spring it was only 60°, she stayed in for 45 minutes before switching to the hot tub.3 points

The big hunk of meat is half of a breast, about 4 ounces which is the serving size for a meal. It looks yuuge because I'm using a small plate. There is more veggie under the meat that you don't see. Squash is a starchy carb, so I try to limit quantities to lose more weight. The nutritionist we spoke with last week would tell me to add a cup of low carb veggies to the plate. I don't want to eat that much. It is really not the imbalance that you think it is. I'm down five pounds in two weeks.3 points

My bathroom. I talked to a guy from surface specialists about options for my tub & surround..$600 to about$1,300..depending if they do the more extensive work...at the same time, I would take down the wallpaper..and depending on what it looks like..paint or re-paper...nothing before next fall or even later..but with in the next 2 years..want it done before I retire And retirement is on my mind...2 points

When I run, I toss on a pair of shorts, sneaks, off I go. To ride, I need a water bottle, pump up tires, make sure Gamin thingies are charged, take phone, put on complicated bibs... Darn ankle.2 points

I was looking for some inexpensive lights as we don’t ride at night much. I found these in Amazon for $27 Well see how they hold up but so far they seem like a good bargain. The blinker is pretty bright too. High beam in my garage with the lights off & doors closed2 points

I would not wallpaper a bathroom. Most likely it wouldn't be desired from a resale standpoint, no matter how nice the wallpaper would be. A nice calming paint tint wall colour.2 points

No. Muscles are cold. Think of stretching a cold rubber band. I do stretch after my rides, and think it's important to do so for recovery.2 points

Something I bought and modified. A Big Tex utility trailer, 5'x8' bed, 2995 # GVWR, 3500# Dexter axle with brake flanges installed. Nice trailer. It came with what they call a "rampgate". I took it off and built a little tailgate. A nice feature is that I can swap out the rampgate for the tailgate easily. Many other trailer require some modification to do that. The tailgate swings down just like the rampgate. I just need to paint the tailgate and it will be done.2 points

Oh, I also have a candlestick phone. It’s the most frequently used phone in the house. The speaker larger than what’s in the cordless handsets, and the sound quality is that much better too. My doomer neighbor gets a kick out of it. Says it’s the only rotary phone he has ever used.2 points

I saw Indigenous twice at the Peacock Lounge when they were booking blues bands. The first time they opened for Magic Slim and the Teardrops. It was Mato, his brother on bass and his sister on drums. His sister had to be 10 or 11 and it was pretty shaky at times, but you could already hear Mato's talent. We all worried their parent's vehicle would make it safely back to the reservation. I think the 2nd time they opened for Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials. It was just a few months later, but they were vastly improved. About that time the bar owner's health took a turn and he stepped away so they stopped booking bands. Next thing we know, the kids are headlining at good regional venues and getting national attention. He was back at the Zoo Bar in Lincoln a few months back, but it was a work night and I couldn't leave early because of a big project at work. Hope we get live music again some time so I can see them again!2 points

You have lots of rubber left on the sidewalls. You need to do more riding in the velodrome.2 points

I replaced the flue pipes on the furnace last night. It turned out only one short piece had a problem and I might have been able to fix it. The house is nice and warm this morning. Happiness is a warm fire. Should be good for another five years now.2 points

I feel that I and some others threw some excellent rants out from time to time, but just lacked those few percentage points to get to Nate-level. He was the master.1 point
