...if it makes you feel any better, the first two flights of Sandhill cranes flew over my house today. They come every year to winter over and nest down in the river sloughs and flooded fields south of me. They've been doing this a very long time.

I'm not allowed to tuch the checking account. She probably afraid that I'm going to buy a motorcycle without her permission..... Ok it only happened once... ...ok 3 times but that's all.

I received a certificate from my work. I was a nominee for an award. They sent this pretty certificate. The spelled my name wrong. Wrong. You would think they know my name, y'know, cause of the paychecks, my w2, the office directory. I opened the envelope and was speechless. My husband was laughing and my mouth was just hanging open. Another way to make me feel like I don't count. Fuck you, 2020

I just opened a fresh package of ground coffee that showed up at the office and my knees went weak. The aroma was heavenly.

We were racing at Barber motorsports park a few years ago and when we were going through corner 17 another sidecar was passing us on the inside. As we were going through the turn Wo46's shoulder was on the fender of the other sidecar....only for a few seconds but she was leaning on the other rig in the turn.

Wade put new taars on his Tahoe yesterday. He is 19 and wants a cool looking truck, so he went with a semi aggressive all terrain tire. Looks damn good, and I bit my tongue and did not get on him about mileage and wear and road noise. He can learn about that when his is old and grumpy. It was cool to see how proud he was of the tires.

All of the hospice people are from Allegheny Health and they always call me because my wife doesn’t do well on the phone anymore. My wife had the TV loud and I couldn’t hear what they were saying. I went back in the bedroom so I could hear. It turns out whoever it was that was calling was calling me about one of my prescriptions. They said I had a prescription for a ninety day supply and the pharmacy only gave me a thirty day supply. They said for me to stop back at the pharmacy and pick up the ninety day supply. After I hung up I went over and checked and sure enough of the three heart prescriptions I picked up one was for thirty days. I don’t know who called me from a Pittsburgh phone. I stopped today while in Mercer and got the ninety day supply, no charge. I wonder who that was that called me and how did they know that I got shorted sixty days? Now I have a 120 day supply of that drug. I feel like a certified old person taking all these drugs.

To work today... First time that I can remember I wore a non collard shirt to work. And the staff noticed too. I got several comments from my staff & others working on my campus... Wow boss, dressing down today huh?!?!

6 on the commute. 26.5 on the roadie. We had avoided a favorite route this summer because the road had gotten so bad. I was prepared to turn at the county line where it gets bad.Lo and behold there was brand new asphalt! I was only able to ride a couple miles of it because I was running out of daylight.

The lack of isolation from the pandemic and the extreme polarization of politics have made it stressful for a lot of us! Grateful to have my bikes, the Miata and streaming music while on the patio to buffer things a bit.

The weather this weekend will be perfect, sunny upper 70’s to lower 80’s. Short ride this afternoon then we have to run into town and do a few errands. Planning meeting at church Saturday morning followed by a 30-40 mile ride near Lake Ontario and then pizza. Sunday we are riding with the club from up north for the annual end of the year ride. No bbq after this year due to covid so we will stop at the brew pub in Tupper Lake on the way home.

My brother in-law (84) and my sister in-law (82) (WoBGs sister) both were just diagnosed with the virus today. Of course since they were sick 2 days ago their son in-law took them to for the testing. Now he and is wife get to be quarantined for 14 days. They are doing relatively OK for now....

You used to go to Barley Johns with friends. Church social events. And all those other interactions that we can’t do anymore. Can you plan a safe social event for some of your friends outside somewhere? I’m sure they feel the same. Give each one a task or something to bring. The isolation is wearing on us all.

I don’t think that deary even drives anymore. Isn’t he hanging out in Vancouver for a while these days?

I’d say someone who likes you and wants you to stick around for a while. Could be an administrator who received an alert or it could be your guardian angel. Or both.

Someone with a cell phone. People keep their cell phone numbers for ages, no matter where they move to.
