  1. Took a bit, but the fish, coral and the anemone. Even the pitty loves watching the fish swim from her chair. Now we just give it time to fully cycle and become a stronger system before I add more things.

  2. We have been very busy the last few weeks. Baling hay, bagging silage and getting ready and opening the corn maze so not much milling done yet. Mill is set up and I milled a few cherry logs. Live edge art boards are so popular that I saved many log edges and resawed them on the bandsaw to sell at out store at the maze. Our friends with the sign store will be making us a farm name sign from one of them. Anyone need some nice cherry, red oak or mulberry for your art projects? I am sold out of cherry French rolling pins till I get more turned. Still have maple ones and a few bowls in stock. I need to get a lot more made before the "Ladies Night Out" Christmas sale at church. A few trees are cut for logs but none milled yet. I need about 50 milled logs and only have enough trees cut for 8 of them yet. Our friends from River Run Trading Post are at another show today so we have a few of their items to sell. Welcome sign is borrowed from their store. The other side of is is a summer flower scene welcome sign.

  4. Not sure how 'ordinary' this is... I've never gone skydiving. Never will. Many years ago... when my grandson was on soccer team. We visited Madison WI, to visit our daughter and grandson. Of course we had to go to his soccer game. There wasn't enough referees, some how I got volunteered. I had NO idea what the rules are for soccer, still don't. I just know when I see a goal scored that's good. I was also given 'the stopwatch' I was the official time keeper too. I just let them play.... I couldn't make any good or bad calls, so I made none. The best part... time ran out... and the one team was really playing hard to get a goal. Yeah... I let them play... I wanted to see if they could score. (they didn't) I called time, and the game was over. I still don't know the rules.

  6. Or Patsy Cline’s Walkin’ after Midnight. At 12:23 Sunday morning I got a call from BV, mom’s assisted living place. Apparently, Mom went for a walk out the front door last night. She had her walker and was wearing pajamas and was barefoot. This was between 11 and midnight. Opening the front doors sets off an alarm unless you have a code. The alarm went off. Mom reaches the street that BV is in on and went down the sidewalk. Fortunately, the first passing car was a cop who stopped and asked he what she was doing. Mom didn’t have an answer and by then the aides from BV came up looking for whomever set off the alarm. Mom went back to BV and was put to bed. Today, the director called and said Mom is moving to the 3rd floor memory care unit where she can’t just leave the building like that. JFC mom. She fell again today and went to the ER because her back hurt. Nothing broken but this is the 5th fall and fourth trip to the ER in a month. I need mom bubble wrap.

  9. She went for a new Civic EX. We were very tempted by a 2017 with only 14k miles on it, but decided the price wasn't enough lower. She is waiting for an Aegean Blue one, due this week. Very nice car. We drove an HRV but it didn't float her boat, even though she would have liked the AWD. So they are discontinuing the Fit after this year and it is essentially replaced by the HRV which is on the same platform, but of course much more expensive. They had aboot 30 Fits on the lot but she wanted to go back to a Civic I should have went for that color too. I guess she got the blue gene from me! My black Civic is nice, but that blue has pizazz! Daughter #1 has the blue gene too, but she went conservative with charcoal gray for her Fit The color that year was I think called Cerulean Blue My Integra was Superior Blue Metallic, like an intense sky blue. Cobalt blue sounds nice too My old Raleigh was (is) Royal Blue with a white fork. Right now I am wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans. I guess I am a Bubba of blue. Love the blues too. Back to the car, the LX still has no turbo. In hindsight probably should have considered that more. KISS .

  11. That sounds impossible. When I was maybe 6 or 7, a friend stole 10 bucks from her mom, we got in a taxi, went and got some milkshakes. The smart lady at the milkshake stand called the coppers who came and got us and returned us to where we belonged. I believe that was my first taxi ride. This can't be true.

  12. I did something similar in a video. Transitioning from outside to inside of a house would take a video of the front door opening with no one there. Some Realtors felt uneasy with it, but had one that absolutely freaked the Realtor out. This house had solid clear glass front door AND clear glass sidelights. I tied some clear fishing line to the floor locks and pulled it open from around the corner in the next room while the video was framed to show the entire door and sidelights.

  15. At the Apple Castle yesterday. The hive is in the wall and customers can watch the bees making honey. They are somewhat dormant now because of the weather. i bought my 5 pound jug of their local raw honey that I went in for, then I bought a one pound bottle of their special honey/ghost pepper blend. That stuff is awesome. I also bought a jug of pure maple syrup. They haven’t picked the empire apples yet.

  16. I've never ridden a horse. Like @Philander Seabury, I was never able to get up waterskiing. I had half the lake forced down my throat while being dragged behind the boat after I fell, which is something.

  17. Waterskiing. I tried when I was a teenager but I couldn't get up. Once I forgot to let go and got dragged through the water head first. That was sort of fun (in hindsight, not at the time!).

  25. I highly recommend the Mororsickle Safety Foundation course before trying that! My first try I had no clue what I was doing so I needed to turn around but had no idea how to do it. I wound up on one leg with the dirt bike circling me because I had no idea where the clutch was. Who the fuck puts it on a {#%** brake lever?! Somehow I got back withoot injury or damage for which I am quite thankful as well as amazed. (Guardian Angel? :D) So later in life I learned the proper way on a cute Little Honda Twinstar 200 and I was hooked. Started with a used CB 350, then a new red CB650, then a Sabre VF700s that is still languishing in the garage when I decided after a bike crash and hearing aboot too many motorsickle crashes to stop while I was a head. But my point is it REALLY is nice to know wtf you are doing.

  26. The closest thing I do with birds is when I hear a song-bird repeatedly chirping the same set of notes, apparently trying to attract a mate. Sometimes, I'll try to mimic the song and often the bird responds and lands on a tree branch closer to me. If the bird gets too close, I'll shut up until I've walked another 30 seconds then do my chirps. I've had birds following me for a mile when I've taken Jake for walks. Passersby look at me funny, then are amazed when I point up in the air and they hear the bird make the same song. Jake looks up at me like, "I've heard that before," or maybe, "Are you going insane?"

  29. When we were going to the F1 races at Indy, the V-10s were tickling 20,000. In person the shriek was unreal! It was hard to associate the sound with the car when you first saw them run! A couple years ago a friend organized a rod run to raise funds for a cancer assistance group. Since our daughter had received assistance from the when dealing with her cancer, the organizer invited me to drive the Miata with the group. I was definitely the red-headed step-child in the group! One guy had a pro street Camaro. He was worried about his car because 65 was 3500 RPM. I said my Miata will drive at 75 on the interstate at 4,000 all day long. “What’s your redline?” ”7200” ”Mine’s 5500” ”Sounds like an engineering problem” I actually made a few friends that day!

  34. I'm afraid to tag specific names, because I'm sure I'll forget some, but I really admire the people here who serve others either with their professions or their free time. @petitepedalWho looks after her seniors with such love and care. @Aireheadwho looks after her kids with such professionalism and concern @Zephyrwho serves the public We also have people who help others by bringing relief through mission work, or who volunteer with kids or rescue animal.s I'm sure I''m forgetting some, but hearing these tales make me feel inspired and glad that such people exist and that they'll share their experiences.
