  2. Einstein is in a mandatory quarantine by issue of the health department because one of his nurses was positive for coronavirus. I, too, am now on a precautionary quarantine until his test results come back. I hate working from home. The good news is that we are both symptom free at the moment. The other good news is that aLthough this happened on Saturday a week ago, they just figured it out. So , quarantine is only through the 11th. I think the actual risk is low and the county is acting with caution.

  4. My Dad and I used to dig for clams in low tide on the south shore of Massachusetts. My niece wrote a screenplay one summer based on this activity. She called it “Silence of the Clams”

  6. They took The Ed Sullivan Show off and replaced it with The Jefferson's. I like the Jefferson's well enough but I really liked Ed Sullivan. It was pretty cool watching artists early in their careers. They also moved I Love Lucy from 9:00 to 1:00 and shifted all the other shows up an hour. It threw me yesterday because I used to have lunch after The Lucy Show. While watching yesterday, I kept looking at the time and seeing that still had over an hour before lunch. The last change I noticed is the replaced The Bob Newhart Show with The Dick Van Dyke show. I like that change a lot. It means I get two consecutive hours of Mary Tyler Moore.

  7. Thank you all. The stent placement is tomorrow. It feels like we're moving a hundred miles a minute, an inch at a time. WoHB's has little relief from the extreme nausea or discomfort. Yesterday she went in again for IV fluids and anti-nausea, because she has issues keeping food or oral meds down consistently. K's school is starting a T-shirt campaign, both to show support, and to raise money for anything we might need; they've already completed the design and we just found out yesterday. Just seeing the shirt design makes me want to cry with how clear it is how much she is valued; it's proof of something we've always known and been told, but you don't know just how much until people come out of the woodwork to lead the charge when the chips are down. In the 3-4 weeks we've known, we've already blown through the insurance deductible; everything that's within coverage is now covered at 100% through next September. Fortunately, while we aren't wealthy by country standards, we're in reasonable shape financially. I shudder to think of someone having to go through this uninsured; I supported universal health coverage before, but it's so much clearer how important this is. We continue to appreciate your prayers. I cannot think of something we need more than that, something that is more important.

  11. How can I not panic when this guy sends me an email wanting to turn all my students and faculty into clams? Or maybe it is me that should be a clam?? Our lockdown blinds help keep your teachers clam and your classrooms safe with your schools custom protocols printed directly on them.

  13. Quarantined now due to one of his nurses being COVID positive. We just found out tonight. Otherwise, home waiting for a month to pass to see if it worked. His heart rate has been a bit more stable. He is not a happy camper today.

  15. Salted egg battered spicy shrimp on taco tuesday so the got added to taco fixins and served on top of a murtabak. The murtabak is a Malaysian sort of pancake that serves as the base for many varieties of street food. It can be folded up like a taco or shaped any way you wish. The shrimp were made with real salted eggs shipped here from Singapore, not the boxed mix available here.

  27. Did you simply ignore the Air post about one scofflaw finishing quarantine in a jail cell? Yes in the smarter parts of the country there is some enforcement. At this time we are not, however, allowed to shoot them as a public safety hazzard, more's the pity.

  29. I didn't phrase it well, but I meant run out of all your food so that you don't have enough to eat. For example, I probably have enough pop tarts to keep me alive for a few weeks, even though it's hardly a balanced diet.

  39. We would run out of milk and yogurt but then I would have months of provisions and could still feed us. Dried milk would not be ok for cereal but it would work for other things. We have enough cleaning items for at least 6 months except maybe paper towels if Lindy throws up a lot. Enough soap, shampoo and stuff for at least half a year. Medicine for Tim comes in 90 day supplies so this would likely be an issue. Also the msot important issue because he is dependent upon the magic pills to keep his heart steady.
