  1. Examples of how closely the RC car follows the technology of full sized cars..........or not. The rear suspension from the left side showing upper and lower control arms, the axle shaft, the upright, the left end of the anti roll bar and the transmission case. There is a cv joint inside the upright and a "slider joint" at the transmission end of the axle to simulate a splined end for length changes as the suspension moves up and down. The other side of the transmission showing the "adjustable slipper clutch" on the input side of the transmission

  2. Do not, I repeat do not go to Petsmart for training. I try to be even keel here at the forum but I will voice a hard no to this. You have a rescue dog from unknown situation that has had a move and been introduced to new people. Too much too fast, no wonder the poor dog is acting out. Maybe last person place he could sit on furniture. Who knows. The crate aggression sounds like pure panic to me. I have been involved in dog rescue since 1976. I have seen this many times. Imagine for a moment you are scared Nd in a new place, you might panic too, especially if,ly if the door was locked. Please consider doing three things. One talk to @Couch. He took a very stressed dog and has build a fabulous companion. Email him, text him. He has also worked out strategies for dogs and cats to live together Two- see you vet to discuss medication to help the poor dog cope. A little Prozac may build the bridge you need. Three- get a truly experienced trainer who will stArt with one to one lessons In your home. As an advocate for the dog here, please do not throw him in a loud chaotic place, another new place. Please don’t put him with other dogs that are more strangers. It is like,y they are strangers with bad habits too. Please don’t leave the training of a dog that has been through this much to chance. The dog deserves more. if this gets me kicked out, really too bad. I must be an advocate for the canine when no one else seems to be seeing the world through his eyes.

  3. And the front suspension showing upper and lower control arms, upright, tie rod along with the end of the steering rack. The shocks aren't in place in any of these pictures as they will probably get built later, just before spring racing season begins.

  4. Trying to torque up all the hardware on the suspension, some rather important bolts. 94 pounds seemed awfully easy, all that work at the gym has really paid off! Or, the cheap torque wrench was kaput. Option 2. Oh, well, it's only 150#, I need 250# for the axle nuts. I don't really need professional grade, the Kobalt branded wrench at the Depot got good reviews and a lifetime warranty. The name brand version is $115 on Amazon, the Black Friday sale at the Orange store - $49!!! Oh, and I took apart the broken one, fixed it, recalibrated it, so now I have a 12.5-150# and 30-250# wrench!

  6. RC cars are very much a mirror of their larger siblings. Sometimes it's interesting to see who is imitating who. On my 1/8th gas car, I was in the pits getting ready and one of my friends who was one of the faster guys in the nation pushed down on my front suspension and said "too soft". I walked to his pit and he had the same springs on his front suspension, but when I pushed down, it hardly moved. I asked what was up, he said to read about roll center. I did and at the next race, I came back to him and shared what I learned. He then helped me set the bump stops on the front arms so I had his setup. The car was on rails! He didn't want to share the information until I understood the whys. A couple years later, we were watching a Formula 1 race on TV. David Hobbs was commenting on how little front suspension motion there was compared to previous cars. Chris said, "it's about time they figured that out".. In 2000, our Nationals were in the parking lot of Texas Motor Speedway. There was an IMSA race that same weekend. At one point, the Audi team came to check us out. There was a lot of back and forth about why we were doing certain things and had we tried this, etc. I think they walked away with as much new information as they shared.

  8. Don't have a choke collar. Looking for something that will assist in the walking. Daughter needs money to live, otherwise I pay for everything. Will likely send them to dog training in a couple of weeks, found something at a local PetSmart. Jumped on the counter and ate the bun for my burger. My wife's pork chop was on the other side, that would not have been pretty. Wife's riding in the basement, is expecting to get to eat dinner when done. I want my clean house back. I'm not having fun. Home is supposed to be my happy place. Work is 8+ hours of stress, then I sit in traffic to get home. Then home is always a surprise, never know what new disaster is waiting for me. I hate coming home now. I'm often not a happy person, I hate life, again.

  12. We were told our gas engines were good to 30,000 rpm. When the rod popped, it got quiet quickly. We would just say "30,001"..

  13. When I worked machinery, there was a shop tool called a "torque multiplier". This is an example that takes maximum 154 ft/lb input and outputs 8000 ft/lb. Needless to say it will snap a bolt in half a second if misapplied. Ask @2Far how I know.

  18. Actually there were 30 cans of Latex and enamel paints (28 in the photo) plus many spray cans, plus thinners, wood cleaners, and stains. My sister and I were cleaning out my mother's and step-father's house to sell it. They are in assisted living. I found all this paint in various places around the house and garage. I had to mix in some hardener chemicals for the latex paint and use kitty litter for the enamel paints so that the garbage truck will pick them up. Some of the cans were already dried up. A neighbor took the thinners, cleaners, and stains. We also found a few hundred rounds of ammunition (45, 30-06, and 22 LR) in various places plus gun cleaning and reloading kits. We got rid of the actual guns a couple of years ago when Chuck started to lose it mentally. A gun shop bought the ammo and stuff. We also found a lot of silverware and silver coins plus some gold rings and necklaces. That brought in over $3000. Literally tons of junk. Chuck's son rented a U-Haul and filled it twice. a neighbor who was very helpful over the years took a lot of tools, the items mentioned above, plus some furniture. We boxed up good stuff to donate to charity. Then we called 1-800-GOT-JUNK to remove the rest. Please do your kids a favor and throw out useless junk early and often.

  22. Joe Dits, Outdoor Adventures Column in South Bend Tribune today. This year was different than past years. Because of covid we had a much smaller class. Also this year all the dogs were "northern breeds". In past years we had many more breeds represented at the class. @Airehead I think even an Airedale would love doing this. I know they can do it. I have seen them at many races.

  32. There will be bedroom reassignments this weekend. I need to accept the dog will now destroy another room in the house, but the cat is losing her mind. Yesterday she was too afraid to come out. She stayed in our room for over 24 hours with no food, water, or litterbox. We'll move all that upstairs, and the dog will stay downstairs. Gate on the steps. Looking for a private trainer to come to our house. Will consider a vet visit and antianxiety (for me and the dog).

  33. Just another day of living the dream. Besides work, I am packing boxes with books. I have the flour and sugars measured for toll house cookies that I’m baking later. I’m making a double batch to give away. The dermatologist will get some tomorrow. Shirley, the 90 year old we met in September will get some. My mom’s birthday is Friday (89). I’ll see her Saturday. She and my sister will get some. Wo7 is going to the dentist next week, they’ll get some too.

  37. When Smokey doesn’t want to walk anymore he just parks it and won’t budge. My daughter is good at coaxing him to walk, SIL just gives up... He did that to me Friday night so I’d pick him up and carry him like a child skipping and bouncing him along until he wiggles loose & walks. So last night we’re walking him with my daughter & SIL. Smokey stops dead in his tracks, sits & looks back at me. My daughter can’t get him to go but I knew what he wanted so I snatched him up, start skipping & bouncing him until he wiggles free. About every 20 minutes he’d stop, sit & look back at me! Here we go again!!!! He’s such a silly boy...
