Plus another $100.00 for a couple mower decks and a snow blade. Pretty soon I'll have enough parts and pieces to build a working $500.00 tractor, and bet it doesn't cost me much over a grand8 points

Yep. I think I told this story but we came around a corner near where the canal locks are just on the north side of the highway and the road ahead was full of crashed and spinning cars (it had been raining up to that point). The moment I touched the brakes I heard the wheels slide and I got off the brakes and stayed off. After that it was a matter of very small steering inputs to avoid things, which looked impossible. I picked what looked like the softest spot to crash and at the last minute the two spinning cars that I was going to hit spun away like the parting of the red sea. It's better to be lucky than good sometimes.6 points

When I retired there was no party. The last few hours of work I walked around the factory saying goodbye to the workers that I liked to working with. I was just sick and tired of what I was doing for a living.4 points

Likely she was just evaluating her options and may have found retirement preferable to the other available openings. I know some people who wanted a party and a big parade when they retired, and others who would have preferred to just leave at the end of the day and not tell anyone. I expect I'd be somewhere in the middle of those two extremes, but closer to the person who just wants to sneak out.4 points

I'm not worried about me. The Mrs. is another story. Pretty sure I had this last year and she was unaffected, this year she is feeling like she has a bad cold, and is tired. I'm just achy and tired, not as bad as I was last year....so far3 points

Good afternoon, I just got off the phone with XXXX and they believe they have fixed the problems with XXXX. You may ask yourself, well, how did we get here? It was the constant documentation of the problems with the program. I know it seemed pointless because it seemed it was the same as it ever was. I'm sure you thought, "Say something once, why say it again?" XXXX asked that we report all problems to her. I know she was glad about it.... no doubt about it. Please continue to let me know any problems you may have with XXXX.3 points

Such a great movie. Apparently the boombox was faked. Byrne is so creative. His latest looks good too. And he loves bikes and writing about it.3 points

The new bmx? Good to see a kid ootside on a bike. But not the safest thing, he did it through an intersection on a back road that does have some traffic. But very impressive. He had it straight up and was jumping from one pedal to the other. I am pretty sure he did it to impress me.3 points

Transmogrified set me off on a comics binge. Damn, Bill Watterson makes Gary Larson look like a party guy! Why are these cartoonists so publicity shy? I love these guys. And they all love Charles Schulz. My current favourite, Pearls Before Swine, was said by its author, Stephan Pastis, to parallel Peanuts. Pig is Charlie Brown, etc. And I love how Pastis inserts himself drawn as a total slob in some strips. Awesome. Usually when the characters come up to him and say some variant of “Really? “ BTW, today’s strip featured @Square Wheels as Pig3 points

If I were offered a demotion when I had the opportunity to retire, I wouldn’t think twice about it. See ya. I’d be unlikely to accept any demotion, but with FU financing already in place, I wouldn’t blink an eye.3 points

Our markets back to and in some cases surpassed the 08 bubble. We refinanced recently, the bank wanted to give us cash and to finance higher than we bought. Owe about 100, worth about 550 right now. We politely declined. We just wanted the lower rate, slightly lower payments and a shorter pay off period. Got all three without a sweat.3 points

Not sure I've seen a game at Houston before. The fans are super irritating. When the opponent has the ball, they hum a continuous ooooooooo. I doubt it distracts the players much, I can't imagine anyone likes hearing that, including Houston fans watching from home. Texans are strange.2 points
