For the last few years I've been involved with a really great tech bootcamp company. Creating content, mentoring students, and hosting webinars for both enrolled/unenrolled people. The compensation is nice but the networking and experience is by far the most rewarding part. My latest project has been implementing a "Technical Project Management" program together for them. I partnered with a local branch of the PMI institute to work out all the specifics and make it above board for their programs. With it now launched, I'm doing the "Intro to TPM" type of lectures to drum up interest. Had one last night, good attendance of about 120 people, lots of interaction and overall received well. At the end I typically give out my LinkedIn for the group to connect. So now we get to the title; I got a message from a student thanking me. I'll use a direct quote: "I want to thank you for your ******* webinar. You're like the Bob Ross of Project Management. You made a challenging subject, to me, completely approachable and relatable."10 points

So you may have noticed that there have been no Meter scores the last couple of days. There was an issue with the reverse capacitor connected to the rectum gauge (uses to quickly ID crap posts). Well, I decided to tear into the machine and fix the issue myself. I think I got the rectum thing cleaned out but after reassembling the machine I was left with a few extra wires. This thing is going to have to go in for service. In the mean time I suggest all semi-official scoring be conducted manually by @jsharr. Thanks, Kzoo out.7 points

Absolutely. Every time. Every cord. I hate a rat's nest cord. Just take a few seconds to put it away neatly. You'll appreciate it when you need to use that cord again. And your electric device will appreciate it too.5 points

Getting compared to Bob Ross is almost always a compliment unless they are talking about your hair.5 points

I'm hoping my day includes a shower, removal of two IV's, and a trip home. That would be great! Hold onto your hat today @sheep_herder !5 points

I could not find the part for my hub so I bought a new wheel. My GF wanted a new mountain bike. I talked to the local Trek shop and they said 2022 for the bike she wanted. Another model was Sept. She bought a bike last week. The shop had it on the floor in her size. No test ride as we are buried in snow.4 points

Yesterday I learned that Sally died. I first met her at the record store. She was a blonde bombshell who came in in her Jazzercise leotards buying music for her classes. She was a little older but she loved to visit when she was there. Around that time she started dating and married my doctor. Our paths crossed many times over the years and we loved to chat. I hadn’t seen her for quite a while. By chance, I drove by their place last week and I wondered how she was doing. Now we know.... Tonight, I found out Stu passed away from cancer. We first met when he was janitor at our kids grade school and he was married to a coworker of WoW. Eventually we all 4 worked for the large corporation. He was facilities manager for our building. I was on the server team. We sat in the same area and our jobs overlapped often. We became friends. We ate lunch together several times. Had a lot of talks walking through the halls. He left the corporation a couple years after me. It really did a number on him. He lost his hair suddenly. At the time the Drs had no clue. They could only figure stress. His new job did wonders. They were a client so I got to see him from time to time. It was good to see him have his spirit back if not his hair! WoW and I would see them at the grocery store, etc. and it was always fun to visit. We just couldn’t get his wife to socialize much just to socialize. Going to miss him. I’m a little afraid to look at the obituaries tomorrow....4 points

I haven't been to a gym in over 8 months. My scale proves it. I'm thinking about changing it to kilograms so it doesn't look so bad.4 points

WoJSTL and I walked 4.5 miles. It was sunny, 52°F, and a little wind. Not bad for January. <added>4 points

Got about 12 in on the bike today. Haven't done enough of that, and don't want to turn into a wimp about winter riding. Headed to the gym in a few.4 points

Yup, not fun. 99% blockage is BAD. Went by ambulance to Farttech hospital straight to the Meth Lab. They went through the wrist instead of the groin. Smells much better that way. Rest of my fart smelled good. Just that one blockage. So ya, I’ll be here till Wednesday. We better leave the windows open.3 points

I probably would have responded to her email with an email that said: " The text of your email seems to have been dropped for some reason. Can you please resend so I can help if you have a question." (and if I was very snarky, I'd have copied her manager on my response, so they could see for themselves her method of communication. If her notes continued to be passive aggressive, I'd copy her manager on all my exceedingly polite responses.3 points

They'll get you when you need to buy the cable pack. It won't work with a traditional USB or lightning cable, and the power cord is probably some weird non-standard configuration.2 points

I'll say there is! Push the mower throttle up near the top end, make sure the deck is engaged, and drive over the hose slowly to get the full effect of the mulching blades. Using this technique, you should only have to make one pass and all the hose shards will get blown into the mower leaf bag, too!2 points

Our latest vacuum has a retractable cord so I just have to push a button. I always wound up the cords on the older vacs. I certainly wind up the cord on the shop vac.2 points

I think because some people thought that they didn't do her justice with a good cover. Possibly Wintour wanted her to look relatable to normal people. Personally, I liked her shoes. This is her normal look. That black outfit and her sneakers. I didn't love the sloppy backdrop. Some say she looked washed out. What I don't love is when these magazines fake what someone really looks like. I am supposed to compete with people airbrushed and photoshopped. Fuck you, <insert magazines that print pics of women that are touched up and fake>2 points

Ken kind of did that today during the final, when one of the contestants responded something like... "Who was the Russian dog? The category: Famous Animals The clue: When she first came to the world’s attention in 1957, she was dubbed “Muttnik” by U.S. journalists I'd say Ken was better today... I'm just waiting for him to yell out the answer, when the contestants don't have a clue.2 points

My gym is not crowded ever. I haven’t been there in forever because I haven’t been anywhere. I’m just guessing but I think the members would be really good with the masks, except for the pool. Even before Covid 90% of the members wiped down the equipment with disinfectant. Staff members were always wiping down stuff as well. I’d like to go back some day because it was always my lifestyle, maybe if the vaccine works. Right now I’d be happy to be able to go for a walk, run, or ride.2 points

See if you can find an owner who is not yet willing to sell, but willing to rent with an option to apply all or some of the rent to the purchase price. If you get a good reference from your last landlord and have a very good credit rating, an owner might be willing to negotiate that to get tenants that look like they'll stay longer term, take care of the place, and not stick him with back payments.2 points
