But I only need to look at it while I'm up north. It will save my back/shoulders and the CX bumper from getting punctured by the trailer. Hooking up the trailer at home on the paved, shoveled driveway is no problem. But doing it up north on uneven, icy, barely plowed terrain is a task. Even with the backup camera. Best I can do is get it close and manhandle it from there. This guard gives me some piece of mind knowing that I wont bump into the trailer and shatter the plastic back bumper in sub zero temps. With my truck, I back until I hear/feel a clunk and I'm golden. But if I do that with the CX, it would get expensive. While up north I'll need to remember to back into the parking spaces at the supper clubs so no one will injure their shins.10 points

In the middle of me typing that last post the guy that is doing the procedure came in and talked to me. He says it’s a go for tomorrow morning. I just signed all the forms.8 points

It was for those who thought they had the baddest RC Street Eliminator RC cars in the country. 256 cars started first round. One won the race and the $18,000 winner take all prize. https://www.facebook.com/rcdragtalk/videos/9137596327700945 points

While it wasn't sunny this morning, it was 46F, and I felt some cabin fever. So I did a 40m drive to a Dutch bakery/breakfast place and had myself some good homemade corned beef hash with eggs over easy on top and toast. Then I dropped off a late (thanks USPS) Christmas present to my nephew (it was only a week late at the time, but the family went on vacation after the holidays and the timing never worked out since. Then I drove back close to home, went through the carwash, detoured over to the folks' house and had lunch with them and went home. I am not Italian; but I do love their method of maintenance.4 points

Today we loaded the tire mount machine into the pod using So7’s engine hoist. The pod is packed and ready for pickup tomorrow.4 points

Hmmm... not too many people have to worry about moving a tire mounting machine. I just roll my tires on the rim with my thumbs. You must be doing it wrong.4 points

Seems like we need a pinned topic for LongJohn. One where we can easily see how things are going and talk to him. And then we won't have to look all over the place for the various ongoing LJ topics. Just a suggestion.4 points

Kohler needs to make a generator that runs on bullshit. That would be a huge hit in Texas.4 points

I wasn’t going to mention it but since you asked it was awful. I couldn’t get comfortable, the room mate’s tv was on all night with the most gosh awful shows. His see crap machine sounded like a vacuum cleaner. I finally got to sleep and then the horns started blasting on his see crap. This went on for hours. (If I had a hammer) finally a nurse came in and I threatened her if she didn’t shut that thing off. She took it out of the room. I started having chest pain but I managed to get to sleep just before they woke me for another blood draw. She turned on the light and asked “what’s going on here?” As she looked at my bloody arm. I told her how many times do you think you can poke holes in a vein before it starts leaking. She cleaned up all the blood and bandaged the leak and then poked me again on the back of my hand. She told me she would tell the nurse about my chest pain. The nurse never came. I managed to get back to sleep just as my IV alarm went off. I called for the nurse and she reset it for fifteen minutes. I was still awake when it went off again. I called the nurse and asked for a hammer. She brought in a new bag of fluid and started my wellness check as they brought in my breakfast.4 points

So I dropped into a new cafe that opened in past 4 months. Brave guy. Made sure I socially distanced in this airy place from other clients. Traditional roasted Ethiopian coffee is heated and brought over to you in this ceramic carafe to pour into tiny capucino like cup. It took probably half hr. to heat up which luckily it was Sat. today, me not at work. I asked for cardamon spice to be added (they offered ginger as another flavour). It was very nice with a botta French pastry which I ate slowly and nearly all of it up, by time coffee was served. Not as powerfully dark as Greek or Turkish coffee which I find my system can't take the caffeine punch. This coffee is nearly as strong as a cappucinco...another coffee I also can't take. I do prefer dark coffee, just not to be whacked in the head. The owner dropped by to check how it was since he knew I wasn't accustomed to waiting so long for a coffee this way. He has been here for years..long enough. I'm judging by his style and speech. Let's put it this way: I found the wait....so different than going to a Chinese dim sum place or restaurant where there is speed, bordering nearly on rudeness at times. To counter that, it's best to respect the workers who don't get paid well or at least counter with cheerful energy back to them as a customer.3 points

Santa Ana winds are blowing hard today so we skipped our planned ride and so I decided to make a proper bfast. I scrambled some eggs with onion & garlic, added a little paprika S&P. I then toasted some tortillas in the skillet, a little cheese & Cholula & a tasty egg burrito.3 points

My wonderful husband was out digging again. Our friends came out and were laughing. It looks like a mass grave that he is digging. He is actually dirt harvesting. He likes this dirt. It is sticky and you can mold it He built the base of the bern with lower quality dirt, and he is taking this dirt to cover the corner with it. When he first started this project the hole was about the size for one or two people. I walked down, and was like "Looks like you are digging a grave."3 points
