Spend the money on glass. Lots and lots of money. It will give you a longer season and make heating it more affordable. Also, really think glass. I replace a lot in ours each year. Consider a floor too - definitely nothing pressure treated as it will leach chemicals. We put a stone floor in. Sounds trivial, but you'll get muddy and track that in the house.4 points

I'm guessing it has to do with a doppler effect of the 2 different motions. They would never synchronize if they were on the table. But the board is free to move laterally. The board starts to move. That movement becomes more noticeable as the video progresses. The first metronome just barely starts to move the board. The movement of the board affects the relative motion of the second metronome, which was nearly in sync to begin with. Those 2 metronomes move the board a bit more in the same rhythm. The pattern repeats. The board is moving more latterly because of the first 2 metronomes that are in sync. Soon the 3rd mestome is affected by the lateral motion, until it is in sync, etc… The longer the distance the board osculates latterly, the quicker the other metronomes will sync with the same motion. Yeah, that my BS theory. Until some other geek proves me wrong4 points

So..at break time a resident mentioned a sewer gas smell on the first floor hall way..near apt 126 or 127..I left break early to check 126 was vacant and 129 has been out of town..sometime the water level drops in a toilet and you get a sewer smell...126 was ok..well 129..the kitchen sinks were both full of black smelly yuck told maintenance and the cleared the drain..and the head said call one of the clean up companies. The guy got there within an hour..I called the maintenance guy to hear what he was saying...we are taking wall removal about 2 ft from the floor, flooring and carpet (only a small area of carpet got wet) one side of the kitchen cabinet damaged ..which in general would mean a kitchen re-do including flooring, paint, all cabinets, and at least the living room floor. Maintenance guy says..I dont have time for that..just go.. he told me to call company #2. When I informed him I was waiting for a call back..he said guy #1 was nuts...then I reminded him what company #2 did when it was clean water. The owner has been mostly out of state and is returning on Monday...I talked to one of my bosses...she was in the building today..I know the maintenance guy is stressed and burnt out..I also know he got promoted to head of maintenance based on his time at the building and his knowledge..but he had no management experience...But you cannot splash some bleach on this and call it good. Thanks I needed to vent..you guys can't fix this.3 points

Even if it could be used, the rope would need to be about 30 feet longer, because of the tall ceilings. Or just go simple?3 points

She sure seems on the trajectory of being really competitive at the collegiate level. Parr8 and his family seem to really be helping her get better and better. I know I wouldn't want to go up against her in a game! Maybe for fun Actually, we should have Parr8 post a video or two of him taking a few swings at Em's pitches!3 points

It should also be noted that all the people from SW are lost people. Some are long lost people (like LJ) and some are short lost people (like Petite). Most of the rest of us are just lost.3 points

I want to get Dragnets for the television. Not namby-pamby cop shows, mind you, but real cops with real big ones. By strong, I mean stronger than little girly cops that you can look at and cause them to fall off, but also ones I can pull off without a wench. Do you know of such Dragnets?3 points

...or, at least, running in packs now! I went out on the patio last night, and heard a dog snarling. I looked around for it thinking it would be up in one of the fenced in yards on the hill. I didn't see it, but then I thought maybe I should keep my eyes on the area where the coyote was the other day. Sure enough, a minute later, out popped a coyote. Then another! And another! And finally one more! Four grown coyotes rolling by as a pack. First off to the north, then back to the south, along the path they have made in the grass. This little rabbit is likely the reason they hang out around here.2 points

Yikes, someone (thanks Cheese) just pointed out to me that I had inadvertently hit the wrong emoji on the initial post. Corrected now, but just wanted to mention it so that you knew it was unintentional.2 points

A few years ago he was in Africa, I think Uganda, and got quite gastrointestinally sick. Misdiagnosed as malaria. Actually was Peritonitis, due to a burst appendix. Fortunately the antibiotics they gave him for malaria saved his life. He’s got 7 lives left.2 points

When I saw BF mentioned by Dottles not long ago, I remembered I had signed on there back when the LF was still active. I only used it a few times and didn't feel the community feeling that's here, so I stopped bothering with it.2 points

You might reach out to @donkpow with your EXACT phone requirements. I am sure he could "find" one for you pretty quickly and at a fair black market price too boot!2 points

Maybe. Maybe not. I've been rebuilding the contacts list by hand. That's actually one of the silver linings. Most of my contacts are not being restored.2 points

This is the type of greenhouse I have built. We poured a center walkway, then drove in fence post to attach the lower wood frames to. We had a machine that would roll the bend into fence to rail. We bent our own hoops than then put the entire thing together. We could cover with poly for cold months and shade cloth for warm months. Built quite a few when we were growing our own seasonal color for a nursery I managed way back in the day. It was pretty cool to walk in and see tens of thousands of plants that you had grown from tiny little plugs.2 points

I think I may be able to help. I checked, and shipping cross country to your place would only be about $250, and I'd be willing to let it go for about $250. It works well, but fair warning it's been pretty heavily used. I didn't chip much brush with it, and it kinda stinks of bleach. I used it as a test for all the potential boyfriends that showed up at the door wanting to date my daughters. The deal was if they made it through the chipper in one piece then I'd say ok to the date. Since my daughters are all happily married now I don't have too much use for it anymore.2 points

I actually got off my ass and rode 5.7 miles on the single speed Montague Bi-Frame this morning. Health issues (both mine and other people in my life) have taken me off the bike for a few years. It's hard getting back in the saddle, but hey, no chest pain so I've got that going for me...2 points
