I finally got the bikes out and pumped the tires up. Took it out for a spin. OMG. I'm off for the season! This place is even better than I originally hoped. Turned east on Smith Road and it was like I was riding into Mt. Baker. I'm just starting up again and I'm here to say this county is a bike riders paradise.8 points

will soon be shipped to the local dealer. Our old 20+ year old John Deere 325 has a few 'issues' and when the parts fail, there are no replacement parts. Like the PTO clutch bearings, etc... plus a few other looming problems. We mow about 3+ acres and in the winter the JD 325 is used for plowing snow. The 325 has a hydraulic lift and it's nice easy to use when plowing. The X390 was selected because I wanted a hydraulic lift for the snow blade, or I may splurge and get the snow blower. Side benefit, the hydraulic system is used for power steering too. WoBG will like that. We thought about a zero turn mower... but snow removal for a 150+ foot drive was easy with a 48 inch blade on the 325. Of course the snow blade for the 325 is incompatible (the mounting system is completely different) with the X390, or any other recent JD model. So until the 325 ultimately dies, it will be used mostly for snow plowing. When it does die... then I'll buy a snow blade (or blower) for the X390. Now I get to start adding fuel stabilizer to the gas in the 325. And use it a few times to mow during the year, just to keep it ready for winter.8 points

My oldest brother just passed on the news. Confirmed it was a heart attack. They’re trying to get him to a hospital in Europe or South Africa for better level of care. He never lost consciousness. That’s about all I know.7 points

...I love you guys! Yesterday I had a text conversation with UglyBob, he and his wife sent RO more bath bombs, which she loves beyond all reason. I hope this fun never dies, she just digs them and I don't have to talk her to the bathtub at all when bath bombs are involved. Just previous to that, there was a big package for me, the long delayed table set arrived! Woot! It went together smooth like butter, too, I only had to finesse one chair cushion, and just a touch at that. It really looks like something I would have designed if I had talent that way, and it absolutely fits in perfectly in terms of decor and space! Then last night, another mystery package came. This one came in incognito, no telling who it was from (although now I strongly suspect jsharrt). It was a small box that contained the coolest refrigerator magnet set I have ever seen! The magnets are glass and they look just like planets (because they are supposed to, I gathered), I will attach a photo in a minute or two, but will save the unboxing for RO tonight... You guys rock, and I can't tell you how big my smile was when I went to bed last night! Yay!6 points

I hope yours is a great one. Mine starts with a breakfast with an old employee I’ve kept in touch with. Then it’s off to the office.5 points

If you need a place to hang your clothes, clean out your closets. They really work better than treadmills for clothes racks.5 points

That is sad indeed. Perhaps though, you could one day consider building a house of your own design with one of those shipping container things for extra storage, and maybe even with enough property like a couple acres or so that you could use that for extra bike storage and maybe even squeeze a pump track in between all of that. Crazy idea, I know...5 points

Depending on how you define "mounted", mine is "mounted" on my front steps. Unless it get really windy, then it's "mounted" somewhere in the neighbor's yard4 points

The secondary fermenter. The homebrew is done. Yeast did a good job converting fermentable sugars to alcohol. The secondary allows the beer to clarify and the solids to settle to the bottom. Next weekend we will bottle the beer. OG 1.068 FG 1.010.3 points

You have to remember that this is a woman who is not afraid to hang out of a sidecar at 110+ mph with her face 3 inches off the asphalt and drinks her Whiskey straight on the rocks3 points

I am jealous and vindictive of both your time with RO and the love from this Sunshine Pie Committee. Your grace period is up. I will court MoRO and then post thread after thread of our great times together especially on days when we are at Grant's tomb or Brothers Island.3 points

It's a little box at the post office. They gave me a key. My mail gets shoved, crumpled, and stuffed into it. Once a year I have to provide proof that I live here to keep the box.3 points

Everyone but me is still sleeping at my house. I got up at seven as I usually do. The overhead fan was on, the window was open, and the electric baseboard heater was turned up full. Aha, I hear the litter patter of little Fleets. Probably have someone to snuggle with soon. Memorial service is tomorrow and the Georgia Fleets head home on Sunday. I’m going to miss them but I think it will be nice to have my house back. I don’t know, I haven’t lived by myself for 45 years.3 points

I purchased some key chains made from NYC subway tokens as gifts recently. They had some with old tokens from the era when my sisters and I regularly took the subway. I thought they made for a nice nostalgic gift. Some day DH's blue tokens may be a collector item.3 points

I would pass. I know people that have treadmills and use them. I know vastly more folks that got them and don't use them. 50 to 1, something like that. If you know, and I mean KNOW, you are going to use the hell out of one, get one. If you think you would start strong and then lose treadmill motivation, then don't. Think of it like a stationary trainer, and ask yourself "Have I lost my mind? What the heck is wrong with me?". If those questions resonate, then pass. SW uses his for running and presumably laundry drying at times. He would be an excellent person to ask.3 points

We drove to Chadron tonight to get to my uncle’s funeral tomorrow. Snow for the lat 120 miles. Became an issue on the road the last 60. I should have stopped in Alliance, but booked 60 miles later in Chadron because of hotel reviews in Alliance! Funeral tomorrow, dinner with family. Saturday- drive back home Sunday - nothing.3 points

I've lost $22K so far making improvements and repairing termite damage to my rebuilt house and spent $1500 having trees cut, an old screenhouse removed, and other yard work. I'm upgrading the refrigerator, gas range, washer/dryer, ceiling fans, etc. and I'm paying to have new fence between me and my backyard neighbor - she's not in good financial shape. So I'm going to be even more lost by the end of Spring.3 points

One time I got pulled over for holding my phone in my hands right after the hands free law went into effect. I had it in my hand answering a call and was putting it down when I rolled past a CHP. He just asked me if I knew why he pulled me over. Yea it was in my hand, I understand, do what you have to do. The chippy paused for a minute and said Im sorry but we have a zero tolerance right now, I got to cite you. Yeah for sure, I understand it was in my hand. When he handed me the ticket he thanked me for my understanding & cooperation. He was almost apologetic. It never helps to be a dick.3 points

Even if it could be used, the rope would need to be about 30 feet longer, because of the tall ceilings. Or just go simple?3 points

Another 5.7 miles on the folding single speed. I only have three goals right now: don't crash, don't puke, and don't have a heart attack. So far, so good...3 points

Pricey, but Harbor Springs is. It's on the tunnel of trees, which I've biked thru a couple times. https://www.trulia.com/p/mi/harbor-springs/2635-s-lake-shore-dr-harbor-springs-mi-49740--10062557852 points
