  1. We live in a heavily treed older sub division. Built in the 60s and 70s. Overheard power lines, aging infrasctructe. Storms cause power outages due to blown transformers. Wind will do the same thing. Everytime a transformer blows a whole herd of Karens erupts in alarm over the gunshot they just heard! Was it wrong of me to post this on our neighborhood facebook page?

  3. Well, I spent last summer cruising the Adriatic on a rented sailboat. Only Croatia though, as everything was closed down due to Covid. My job ended unexpectedly as the CEO wasn't anticipating a return to normal travel for some time. I started a new job, literally the following week but it is primarily a domestic US/Canada aircraft. This is ok too because it keeps me closer to home and winters in Ft. Myers. Daughter 1 had to delay her wedding twice so this summer we will do a simple bride and groom plus siblings and parents service. Canada is still very locked down, you see. My wife was diagnosed with a somewhat rare form of blood cancer so we are still awaiting test results to determine treatment etc. I have been very busy flying the new group around as they are in a huge buying spree in the US. Not really what I wanted but I can tolerate it a few years. Oh, and I had CV-19 for 4 months and still have some minor issues. I went to visit AWWC and we watched endless Foxes and Fossils videos and Doris Day movies, snacking on Little Debbies and Cheerwine. One of the statements above may not be true.

  6. Whenever I'm walking Jake and a cyclist behind us calls out, "On your left," I used to immediately tug on Jake's leash to move him toward the grass on the right of the paved trail. Now it's become Pavlovian. When Jake hears someone say, ""On your left," he starts automatically moving to the right before I tug on the leash.

  10. Example: A product is purchased. It's packed and it's shipped and fees have been paid........... "I've decided I don't want this card, can you refund?" Sorry, it's shipped already. "When it gets here can I return it for a refund"? Dude. 5 minutes before you asked for a refund the exact same product was sold on Ebay for $25 less by someone with the exact same statistics as you. Ebay has been contacted and they checked and determined that it was you. No you can't have a refund. There is paid for tracking so we will know when it's delivered. Pictures were taken before shipping to demonstrate that it was in perfect condition. It's unlikely that under the demonstrated circumstances Ebay will grant you relief if it's "destroyed" during shipping.

  19. I waited a year (and a little) and sold the Bend house after Mrs Scrapr passed. I like Bend & the house there a lot. But the pandemic really isolated me (beyond not having the company of my wife). The listing went live on a Friday. There were a kajillion showings. On Monday afternoon we had 13 offers in hand. i chose one. I bought a home back in the area that I had 30+ years in with lots of friends & work associates. The new house is even better than I expected. Very walkable with a nature trail that connects to the neighborhood. Lots of parks. 2 within about 200' (that is 61 meters in Canadian) In December of '19 our Golden passed. I lasted about 2 months before I got another Golden. She is as much therapy dog & companion. I started dating in January & found a special one pretty quickly. In about 2 and a half weeks it will be 2 years since Mrs Scrapr passed. This last year has been a year of growth. My life is much different. I miss her very much

  28. One of my prouder moments in life. We were camping, Griffin must have been about 4 or 5. I was setting up a tent. (this was pre-campers). I grabbed a long neck bottle of Coors Light out of the cooler and put the edge on the lip of my trailer rail. I smacked down on the bottle and the top flipped up and I caught it and took a big swig of brew. Griffin was watching the whole thing and he just said "Niiiiiice".

  30. Sounds good. I am making polenta topped with sauteed mushrooms, with some parm and an over easy cooked egg. Steamed broccoli as a side. This is one of my easy go to meals. It only takes me about 30 minutes to make. I love the creamy yolk with the soft polenta.

  32. Went back to college (online not "old-school"). Just finished a Masters Certificate in Risk Management. We bought a house instead of renting another year. It's in the rural part of VA. Quiet with nice people, good riding area with vineyards, wineries, and horse farms.

  33. perfect. I just sent Josh out to open them on his car. He is young--- no real twist cap experience. I just remembered the belt buckle trick and opened one. Young staff amazed--- I smiled and said it wasn't my first rodeo. These are apparently coke from Mexico all real sugar and no corn syrup. We may need to order more as even the water drinkers are wanting to try them.

  35. Wife got a new job after her previous company tanked & she got laid off. My company is absolutely killing it right now & gave me a ginormous bonus in Feb so I bought a Ritchey SwissCross & built it up with Shimano Ultegra. We also went public & we had an opportunity to buy in at initial IPO so I bought a crap ton of stock with the bonus and although not at its peak I’m still up about $5 a share. We also finally started working on our house which we put off planned repairs due to Covid. We replaced windows & sliders first, had a bunch of electrical work done, redid flooring throughout & as I type this we are living in the garage while the painters do their thing. But best of all my daughter had her kid, Camden Jax “CJ” so I’m Opa ChrisL now. Oh and welcome back!
