Going here. Dope campground This may be the ultimate in glamping. No softball, no grumpy old dialysis patients (at least none that I have to treat) no schedule. Well, we do have a boat rented one day. So that is the only "schedule". Can't wait. We have traveled a ton but it's all been fairly stressful travel due to softball. We're going with 3 other families. Should be very relaxing.

So yesterday we planned to have a lunch down at Dana Point and do some outlet shopping. In the group was WOChrisL, our kids, their significant others, my daughters MIL and my MIL. Parking was beastly so I let my SIL with the baby & geezers take a good spot that opened and dropped off my son & GF. WOChrisL and I then parked out in the street & walked in. So daughter texts me that they are at this restaurant called Wind & Sea. I can see it, hmm looks spendy I wonder who picked it… WOChrisL & I walk up and they are all standing out front. MIL: Doesn’t brunch here sound wonderful!?!?!? My Daughters MIL, my son & GF all said in unison, We’re not paying $35 a head for brunch!!!! I said it looks like we’re going somewhere else. MIL has boo hoo face but we move along… Daughter told us she was adamant about eating there even though everyone else said it was too much. My son left for his GF’s and daughter stayed home afterwards. They are both over her already.

Went there Saturday morning. Picked up some peaches, some jalapeños, corn, and some okra. Made some peach butter, pickled jalapeño slices with garlic, and I’m oven frying the okra later to go with supper. The tomatoes and the green pepper are from the backyard.

This weekend I finally got some more potato pancakes. They are on a lower shelf in the refrigerator. I may finally get to try them this week, unless I forget that they are in there and end up throwing them out in a few weeks when they are long past edible. The tension is real!

Well, as Gomer Pyle used to say, Go-o-ol-ly! It fit! Of course, anything but a gentle covered simmer will overflow it and it looks more like a thick stew than a soup, but I'll get a good bowlful for dinner tonight and add a little water to the rest - the broth is good and strong - the will result in at least 5 more 26 oz. portions - I'll freeze two. Meanwhile, I'm starving - dinner will be close to 9 pm because I got a late start preparing everything due to yard work then shopping for more tools.

My glaucoma seems to be holding steady without getting worse. That's good because the surgery was 3 years ago and it doesn't work forever. It can be repeated at least once however. My retinas however will never get better and the mild double vision isn't going away. I no longer attempt to read print anyway, just electronic where I can change size, contrast and background color. The next visit is in January.

My sidewalk to the street this AM: The sidewalk now and the variation on the "half moon shovel" I used to edge it, which worked pretty well. I scooped up the sod with the square shovel in the 1st pic below. Now I need to run out and buy a cheap broom for outside dirt and hook up the hose/reel/nozzle and squirt it off.
