  2. MIL leaves Wednesday so we took her to the beach last night as we have the kids coming over tonight to say good bye. As we are standing on the bluffs she says how she understands why we live here. My wife said you realize I’m never ever going to live inVA right? MIL says well then I need to live here!!!! My wife and her mom had a stern heart to heart no BS discussion which was needed and I won’t bore you with while I just enjoyed the view.

  3. I noticed my hair pomade was disappearing at a rapid rate so as the tub emptied out I bought more, hid it but left a note in the empty tub which I left out. So today I get a text from my son. Uh where do you buy the pomade??? A dads work is never done… Here’s my note:

  8. Are pretty tough. Defense spot on. Excellent pitching. The pitcher is like 38 and plays true pro softball (apparently Japan has a flourishing league). Monica Abbot (the US pitcher) actually plays over there and faced several of her teammates when she played Japan. They didn't hit a ton, just when they needed to. Very good at not trying to do too much with every swing. Singles win the game. They were hard to bunt against. Standard US ball is the get them on, bunt them over and hit them in. Japan simply outplayed every bunt, fielding it quickly and throwing down to second base to turn a double, instead of taking the easy out at one, moving the runner up to scoring position. We hit the pitcher a few times, just not enough. Stranded enough runners to easily have won. But hats off to them. They played well.

  9. It seems like many calls lately have had complications that require research or a return visit, etc. Today, I was able to resolve several problematic tickets. On a couple, I just did the same thing I did on the last visit and this time it worked! I even had a System Restore to a previous date work perfectly which almost never happens. Kind of needed a day like that!

  11. We parked the car, walked the 100 yards or so and as I hit the edge of the bluffs the damp salt air hit me. I took a deep breath and the only thought going through my mind was home… Everyone associated different things with home. Me, it’s the salt air.

  14. It’s been a wet summer and the vegetation is winning. If you are not in the yard or fields you can’t see ten feet. Bottom has fallen out of the sky too. I had to give up on YouTube, can’t hear anything over the thunder. Floors and windows are shaking.

  24. 😂 Basically you are difficult to live with, you bring tension & conflict into my and my family’s life and as long as you can live on your own we will require you to live on your own. But that was a 60 minute chat full of tears, why’s, I’m not that bad etc…

  25. The Wall Street Journal article is consistent: She has been a rock for so long, handling the pressures of the prior Olympics and tons of other championships But there are times she sounds very vulnerable on social media, I am glad she felt confident enough to make the decision that was right for her.

  26. A friend of mine is a contractor. He had a call for a small remodel. The guy wanted him to do it next week. He told the client he could schedule it for April 2022. The guy hung up. A couple hours later he called back and said pencil me in for April 2022.

  30. Chemo is no fun but it gave my wife another 10+ years of fairly good life. It doesn’t always work. The combination of blood thinners and chemo I’m getting blood blisters all over my body. My veins look terrible. I got three calls from the cancer center today. They want me to come in an hour early for an exam before my treatment.

  34. I had relatives that were adopted and even though the adoptive parents seemed great, I think it's natural to be curious. Adolescence is hard for almost everyone, adopted or not, and it's natural for kids to try to find "their place". Even if you love the adopted parents, many kids still want to think that their birth parents didn't abandon them. I'm sure it's hard for your cousin and natural to feel like your being rejected somehow, but I think it's more about the kid trying to deal with their own emotions than a rejection of the adopted parents.

  36. My middle son married a girl with three daughters. Two of them would visit their dads for the summer. John adopted the third girl, her dad had no interest in her. The oldest girl decided she wanted to go live with her dad. Her mom and John were too strict. She was back in a couple months and has been ever since. I think she is twenty now.

  39. My kids never had any interest in finding their biological parents until they were much older. We made it easy for them. Pennsylvania had a loophole in the birth records law. Our adoption group informed us about it and we applied for pre-amended birth certificates on all three boys with the biological parents names on them. When each of boys turned 18 we gave them to them. Two of our sons have met their moms. Ben has met his dad. Daniel has talked to his mom on the phone.I don’t see anything wrong with that.
