@petitepedal sent me a most heartfelt card and a book by someone she knows about a rescued dog. Both are wonderful and absolutely made my day. Pictures to follow. Sincere thanks for thinking of me.10 points

We painted two walls green and are working our way around the rest of the living areas with a fresh coat of the same color that’s in the kitchen. I have to replace a lampshade, hang a mirror to reflect the view out the front picture window, hang artwork, and find a desk organizer that will hold our laptops.9 points

It has not felt like this in over ten years. Never really loved the city house. I love the bike lifestyle, but don't like being in city limits. Think I shall go and ride my pump track. It is lightly raining.7 points

The sound of rain hitting the metal roof was so nice. We have metal gutters, so I still hear the rain. It's more of a drippy sound. I like the sound of the drips. We had loud thunder and some heavy rain a bit ago.6 points

Boss booked us in an Air B&B. Thought it would be cheaper than a handful of hotel rooms. The AC is out, it’s 87° inside. I’m online booking a Marriott Suites room.5 points

The wife and daughter left the campground to drive to Myrle for a week of softball Nationals. They've been there since Wens and I came home to work. They are doing pretty well and I found a last min cheap flight. So I am able to join them this evening in Myrtle Beach for a few nights. We'll all drive back Sunday. I was able to take off Monday so here comes yet another long travel weekend. I will get plenty of rest when I die.5 points

It is so comfy. I find myself looking forward to getting in it. The room and the bed are just lovely. Having saved a boatload just makes it that much better.5 points

In March as I was recovering..between 2 pay periods where I used 8 hours of PTO..but my files showed 108 hours gone I asked about it, and didn't get a response. Last week we had a zoom with the guy at the main office who works with ADP and is our HR contact...So..apparantly, to promote a "work life balance" they changed the policy.also we accrue PTO based on hours worked not the years hours on our anniversary. I and others were clear...WE WERE NEVER INFORMED ABOUT THIS CHANGE. So...I got 100 hours back N the w I need a cheap vacation..driving preferred over flying due to Covid.. Who wants me5 points

Yesterday it kinda hit me, 2 weeks of MIL, busy weekends, busy work, no rides, few runs, I need a break. I told my boss I’m taking Friday & Monday off and may not even go in today… I need some down time for sure and the next few days should be quiet. Since Covid hit I haven’t taken any real time off, just long weekends here & there. I’m thinking I’m due for a real vacation even if it’s a staycation.4 points

I don;t always use hot sauce, but when I do, I usually enjoy the food more. There have been times when it was nice to just make a bland food edible, but other times it complements a flavor. What do you think? Is there anything like a consensus on this from the experts? Or is it pure opinion and taste.3 points

I have been for the past several years. I have dental care routines that might be a bit on the obsessive or even the excessive side. It has taken over as my main hobby which use to be riding a bicycle. I wasn't always like this; just the opposite really. But things change as we age, even our obsessions. When I was at the dentist's office two days ago, she said something like, "Your gums are unbelievable. When I poke them while examining the area around your crowns, they don't bleed. Amazing. Unheard of, even. Whatever you are doing, keep doing it!" She has said similar things in the past. When I got home, I started to wonder why she never actually asks me exactly what I am doing. If a scientist, or a dentist even, sees something unusual, shouldn't they be interested in determining the root cause? As Alan Harper says, "The price of healthy gums is eternal vigilance".3 points

Goode pointe and congrats, but, 1) Who the flock is Alan Harper? 2) Why would the area around the crowns be more susceptible or different than other areas? 3) Can't believe I almost forgot this. Is she hot? Married? If not married, did you ask her oot?3 points

1) You must be kidding... 2) Not more susceptible; it's just part of her examination of the gums at the crowns. It's a dentite thing, I guess.2 points
