So my mom used to cook our favorite meals to be sure we came around often. She usually cooked for us 1-2 times a week when our kids were young so she could get grandchild time. So I’m making fish for dinner and my daughter calls. Uh whatcha making for dinner? Pastei (Dutch shepherds pie & my daughters & SIL favorite dish). Cool can we come by??? Of course. So I start pulling the stuff out for pastei & my wife says who called and why are you making something else now??? Nikki and don’t you want to see your grand son or not? Uh good call want me to peel potato’s???

Someone is on her way home today. Happier and more energetic than she has been in weeks. Jackson the cat is probably going to make fun of Mona.

I flipped Karen off on the bike path today. Not a GM move. I rang my bell to signal we’re approaching. She veers into the center of the path, weaving atop the yellow lane stripes. I brake. “Are you going to the right or left?” That’s a move I learned from Dr. Mickin earlier this summer. “All you have to say is ‘On your left,’” she replies and veers back into the right lane. Then I forgot I’m a GM now. I said, “That’s what the bell means, dear.” I passed her, so I didn’t exactly hear what she said next. But her tone reminded me of a whiny bitch, so I flipped her off. “Do you want it going right, or left?” Spare us your fecking dissertation about how to pass on the bike path and just keep to the right. So, I’m probably not GM material.

Ryan graduated today from Mesa Airlines flight attendant training in Phoenix. He will be based at Dulles, Airport outside Washington, D.C., an employee of Mesa but assigned to United Express. Here's his graduation and his United Airlines uniform. He will also do some initial training (paid) flights with American Airlines (white shirt on that uniform).

When I use my rower, I watch the goats and chickens at eh lower property. The goats are funny and do the weirdest things. Yesterday one of the goats had picked up an empty bag of feed and was swinging it around. Also, I like watching the highway as the Sprinter vans drive past. There are a lot of them going through. Often they have bikes on the back.

I get my money for nothing and my checks for free.

12 year old girl who has been in our school since age 3. Not one to be ill. Last week, she was hospitalized. Released on Friday. Passed away on Sunday. Life is not fair. I sat on the floor in her home with her during the intake. I know her and the family very well. It sucks.

This is the volunteer work I did prior to cycling. The post has several layers of personal meaning for me. Yes, I've talked about it in bits over the years. The convenience of a blog post that even I can explain to my closest friends, some complicated stuff in just 1 paragraph with illustrations. Even with some friends I don't spend much energy discussing certain issues...because it just gets complicated and long-winded to explain when stuff happens.

I have a few that I planted after the rooster ate all the first ones I planted. I haven’t seen that rooster since the day I caught him tearing up my sunflowers. Something must have eaten him. The owner might have had him for dinner but I can’t imagine that guy cleaning chickens. He is more the have a few chickens for pets guy.

I honestly don't know how you handle your job on some days, but I'm also really glad that people who have to deal with such a terrible tragedy have someone so caring and kind to be with them. Strength to you.
