  1. I really prefer to be in my office but today my co-worker and I are home. We have an Airedale puppy arriving this morning for a two week stay. It is going to be hard to get any real work done. Meanwhile my co-worker is checking his email.

  2. Slightly char some corn on the BBQ or in a pan, cut the corn off and mix it with lime juice, cilantro, green and red onion, and I added cayenne, smoked paprika, cumin, and some fresh cheese crumbled on top. The recipe called for a little mayo but I added a little yogurt in place of that. It came out very yummy. Recipe called for a jalapeno, but I didn't have one. It would be better with it. I made up for that loss with cayenne pepper powder.

  9. Last Saturday, riding the metric ROC the Great Lakes. I got a couple extra miles in riding from my campsite to the ride and back. The elevation gain for the metric was 7590 feet. Oops! Sorry! I shifted the decimal by accident! Elevation gain was 759.0 feet - pretty flat by any standard... A view of Lake Ontario on the ride over: The weather was pretty good, high 70's and light overcast. Many roads in that area are laid out in straight lines. If they do curve, it makes you wonder if the surveying team had too many beers for lunch. At some points the roads just ran arrow-straight and disappeared into the distance: Some of the farms were just huge. Barns and silos on another whole scale greater than in my area. The farmers, of course, don't fool around when it comes to getting the right equipment to farm acres and acres of crops: The turnaround point was at a park in Olcott. I wandered over from the rest stop to the shore to get a look at the lake: The town built a replica of the light house that once stood there: This truck looked like it's been sitting so long in the front yard that it transformed from 'junk' to 'art': I enjoyed the ride... Even though the terrain was pancake flat the vastness, being so different from where I live, was beautiful in its own way and Lake Ontario simply added to it.

  15. Isn't it beautiful. The thing sheds nicely. I am working on season now. I am gonna do three coats today. The important part, the surface, is so silky. Such a gorgeous work of art. I want a 12” too, but the checkbook is slightly tapped out lately. Spending has to slow down a bit. 🇺🇸 makes some nice things. So does 🇫🇷.

  16. Yeah, that's the look. And Rudy doesn't need any help being a terror pup. He's just over 2 years old. I figure in another 5 years or so he might make a good mentor. I love the eyes. It's always the eyes...

  35. Olive oil would be a good addition, like a TBSP. The slightly creamy of the yogurt just finished it off nicely. It doesn't really have a dressing. It needs a littl more than just lime juice.

  38. Since Generac has a major portion of the residential generator market, I looked at an owner's manual for a 7.5KW propane generator. Yours may be a larger unit but the controls are typically standardized across a wide range of capacities even for industrial units. Here's an excerpt: It's important to let the generator run unloaded for about 5 minutes to let the electrical end of the generator cool down and avoid shortening the life of the windings caused by excess heat. I would also suggest talking with your propane supplier to make sure the 1,000 gallon tank is the right size for your location on the coldest day of the year. Your furnace and generator don't run on liquid propane - they run on the propane vapors that exist above the liquid propane inside the tank - basically, whatever propane 'boils off' from the liquid. On a really cold day, the boil off rate is pretty low, so you have to make up for the low rate by increasing the surface area of the liquid propane to get more propane to boil off. In short, that means a bigger tank or a second parallel tank. Your propane supplier should be able to give you this information and they should know how they decided to give you a 1,000 gallon tank to supply the home heating systems and a generator. I've assumed you've got an above ground tank. If the tank is buried the vaporization rates are higher because the ground keeps the tank warmer. What you don't want is a 'competition' for fuel between the generator and your heating system because neither will run well. Your worst case will be if your tank is nearly full (low surface area, as most 1,000 gallon tanks are long cylinders) on a very cold day. Under those conditions the vaporization rate should exceed the fuel requirements for the generator (for this particular generator 30-50 cuft/hr LP gas depending on load) and whatever your heating systems require. Your HVAC company should be able to tell you that, or you can find it by finding the make/model on your furnace and looking it up.

  40. Here was the deal.. called about 3 people selling busses, no calls back and tried multiple times. tried calling 8 people for set vans to turn into a camper.. no calls back or two people were already having others in a bidding war.. I don’t play games like that. Talked the wife into letting me and the kids build a ray rod. Started looking at cars to tear apart and build a slamming street rod out of. i happened to find this one and it ran a year or so ago so I took a chance on picking it up and will be fully restoring it to the day it came off the line. I’m talking keeping as much of the wood flooring, and as many of the original tack nails. Oh yes.. it will have corduroy interior just like it did back in the day. I will be talk of the town as I cruise around at the max speed of 50mph pissing off everyone that has a lot more than 30hp.

  41. One on my nose and one on the back of my neck...not too worried at least on my part...a $400 tube of ointment (I love it when I have met my deductible) and some other cream to try... Doc suggested since I have met my deductible...I might want to try ultraviolet light on my psoriasis... I am not so sure...I keep it in fairly good control..it is mostly elbows and hands..a couple of fingers have gotten bad a few times..but meds clear it up. She was also going to reccomend her plastic surgeon for Larry the Lipoma..her thought being it could have a portion in the muscle that is prone to making more..she felt Larry was almost as big a Fred in only 2 years. However she also agreed no messing with that arm for a year.

  42. Sounds excellent. I cut and pasted your recipe and saved it my veggies folder. It's one of those recipes you can add stuff to. I bought my first road stand tomatoes in two years and the first really, really delicious ones in two years. The last couple of nights I've been having 1-2 ears of white corn boiled for 3 minutes then butter & salt, a big, cut-up tomato that fills up 60% of an 11" dinner plate, and 6 oz. of sirloin steak that's been sous vide cooked at 135°F for 24 hours then seared in a trace of olive oil in a frying pan with a little steak sauce.

  44. I spy a triple crown and a DH helmet. What I liked about this, although shuddering to see, was the fact that it showed you the consequences of freeriding like this. You always see the glory edits but you don't often see all the times these guys crash. You don't see the horrible things that can happen. This ride had a lot of consequence. Nope. Not for me.
