I received in the mail my new registration and tabs for my vehicle. My birthday is next month. Anywho, I had the registration and sticker sitting on my kitchen table w/ some other pieces of mail & such. Over the weekend I decided to straighten up and throw some things oot. Couple days later I decide to place said sticker on my plate. Where is it After looking around I and came to the conclusion that I must of accidentally thrown it ootI then started looking on the Secretary of State website to see how to obtain another one, what a PITA. I was able to download a replacement registration, but ordering the sticker part of the site was jacked up and not working Then I realized it might still be in my dumpster💡 My condo has dumpsters. I just threw the trash oot in the morning before work so I was hoping that it was not emptied. When I got to the dumpster the trash was all there While standing on the side door, I sifted threw and found mineIt was bright day light, so if any one saw me they were probably like . I took it back inside, opened it up and there was my registration w/ sticker I then put it on the plate. Done.11 points

for the great cycle Challenge to fight children’s cancer. Because of my health I only challenged myself to ride 200 miles during the month of September. Some nice lady just called me from The Great Cycle Challenge to thank me for signing up and wanted to know if there was a particular reason I signed up. I told her I hate cancer and especially in children. I told her about my wife and my leukemia and my love of bikes. I probably should have waited because St. Jude’s Children’s hospital is also doing a cycling challenge in September. I have heard good things about St Jude’s, I know nothing about the people I signed up with. I guess I should do some research. At any rate I’m committed to riding 200 miles next month.10 points

My sister is all on board with the idea of putting a koi pond in the moat. So I designed one out. A small waterfall at the head of a stream that goes under the bridge, and ends in a larger pool with a taller waterfall. I have most all the stone on site already. Got a buddy who runs equipment and will work for day rates. Going to have to spend money on the liner material, skimmers, and pumps. Some on plants but not much, got most of that covered already, and some on fish. All total I’m still well under ten grand, so that’s what I’ll budget. Going to give myself a year for the project.8 points

I’ve missed this most basic of comfort foods. I don’t eat oatmeal during summer; not sure why. But I made a bowlful this morning. With pecans, maple syrup, and apple chunks.5 points

Well that one time the river caught on fire. Oh wait, that was Ohio. Never mind. Fire Towers prevent forest fires? Who knew? Maybe NY can sell a few out west; they need some help.4 points

The metric system works real well for measuring weight and size. It really sucks when you try to figure out metric time. Ten minutes in an hour, ten hours in a day, ten days in a week and ten weeks in a month. Then you have ten months in a year. It makes your head spin trying to imagine it and don’t even get me started on the metric alphabet.4 points

No idea. I have no clue what I'm doing, but I enjoy cooking and a lot of what I cook is edible, and some of it good.4 points

Yeah those are true... I solved the problem of not knowing the day of the week, they all seem like Saturday to me. My watch displays the day, and date. Last week WoBG and I went the IL State Fair. I told WoBG the entrance fee should be $11, that includes parking and our senior discount. The woman at the car window tells me $15. I asked why didn't we get our discount, we are both over 60. Yeah.. I saved $4.4 points

I went to the fruit and veggie stand where I got such great tomatoes and corn last week to get more. Out of corn. Stopped at the nearby supermarket. Out of corn. Decided to stop at another supermarket and moaned to myself I might be "stuck" with the fresh asparagus that's in the fridge. The next stop had nice sized ears of corn for 50 cents each. But as I drove home, I thought about how either fresh asparagus or fresh corn - along with roast beef sliced off the marinated slab I'll bake tonight plus an excellent, sliced tomato would have been an exceptionally special meal when I grew up in a poor family. At least half the people in the world wish they had the foods available to them that we take for granted.3 points

My local hardware store does not have the material for that kind of build. I could try the Junior League, but I don’t think they have a parts department.3 points

...but @petitepedal was nowhere to be found! I was out walking my pup, and we came around the corner. She started to sniff the liriope, and then began her "poop pacing" in the grassy area in front of the liriope. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw what I thought was a chipmunk making a run for it. But it was a baby BUNNY! And it was running towards my pup without a care in the world. In fact, I think it thought my pup was its mother!!!! My pup, a rat terrier, is NOT rabbit friendly. In fact, about the only thing she will chase is rabbits (and raccoons), so I told her to leave it, and had her sit. I, on the other hand, put my hand out and that little bunny came RIGHT UP TO MY HAND!!! I got a brief nose touch, and it would scurry away, return, scurry away, return,... SO DAMN CUTE! But also, WTF was the MOM??? And will this little guy/gal be okay? We got home, and I grabbed my wife to go show her the baby. But it didn't come out to greet us. I hope its mom came home and scolded it for wandering on its own.3 points

We designed and built a pond at our previous place. It was a lot of fun. We never had interest in fish so we called it our frog pond. The biggest mistake we made was not building it in an area with cover. It was beautiful but the pump and waterfall wasn't enough to cool the water enough. Fish would have died, the frogs didn't mind and the algae loved it. It was a lot of work to keep clean but worth it. We have a small pond now with a small dam and waterwheel that was built 70 years ago and is integrated into a small trout stream. The brown trout enjoy it.3 points

Never. But you have a good idea. Eat the heavy calories in the am, so you can burn them off. Or, maybe it makes no difference. I don't know.3 points

About 30 years ago..I was unemployed and living in "transitional housing"...an upscale homeless shelter for women . Any way..had a couple of women go dumpster diving by Walgreens...they brought back odds and ends including jars of salsa that were newly expired...then we had the woman who brought back a big junk of meat from the grocery store dumpster..unwrapped..and old..nope...and that ended the dumpster diving...best fi and d was the stuffed parrot that would repeat what you said....all he needed was batteries.3 points

Try the expensive neighborhoods. Those folks throw all sorts of good stuff out, and now that you know the process (and are known as the Dumpster Diver Bike Guy) you can probably give @donkpow a run for his money.3 points

Hey @Allen @Old No. 7 I did it. I have a resting bowl coing and some other cool tools. Yay. Should arrive today, but it seems to be delayed. As always. Bread Baker's Dream Set | Bread Pan | Williams Sonoma (williams-sonoma.com) This should be the exact size for a 3 cup of flour bread recipe, so the no knead recipe is perfect for this. Yay. Figured you both would be proud.3 points

I am very jealous that you have a plan. I was just trying to figure out pond stuff tonight. Apparently I need like 55,000 pounds of boulders if I use a liner.3 points

I burned stuff, then I turned perfectly good food into inedible, unrecognizable masses. And that was just with the microwave. Eventually I learned my cooking techniques by what I didn't ruin, which is peanut butter jelly sandwiches, cold cereal, and scrambled eggs. Well, most of the time, anyway.3 points

When our son moved to Georgia I took all the trophies that we won over the last 10 years and donated them to a place that would use the parts to build new trophies and donate them to Special Olympics. Yes they filled the back of my pickup truck3 points

Aire, dearie took early retirement back just before 2002. He did have a productive retirement. Like everyone else, he checked his email, looked at news on 'Net or on tv for about 1/2 hr. and then got into whatever project that required desktop computer work. Different years, was different things. However I will say he did get up early with me, for early bike to work commute ride...it happened during cycling seasons only for a few years..so that meant joining me at 6:00 am for a bike ride...the commute varied whichever employer I had. But enough to work up a sweat...and then he would ride home. Other certain years, occasionally he would bike out to meet me at worksite/or near it and we would bike home together. I didn't ask for any of this, but I really enjoyed our rides together. It probably gave him a boost to keep his own rides which I'm sure he extended on his own after he left me at worksite. Sometimes I didn't see him for long stretches...cycle touring for many wks. solo ...or he attending various cycling advocacy meetings locally and occasionally elsewhere in the province. He was very happy to leave his career behind him... He spent enormous amounts time writing up reports, presenting to city council, then financial modelling/accounting for son's biz. He created 3 blogs on cycling matters. But sure, occasionally I came home and he would be resting. His tinnitus or sinuses would be bugging him.3 points
