  1. It will be a very different one being it is primarily just the ceremony and in a local park. Covid measures still don't allow guests in the numbers needed for family and friends so this is just family. Hopefully, the ceremony and reception will be held in May. You missed your chance @AirwickWithCheese. No, I am not giving my daughter away. What century do you think this is? She will keep her name. Her grandmothers are both very pleased with that.

  2. I've been spending a lot of money on my motorsports lately. My new motorcycle was paid for by selling my old motorcycles. However, the new trailer, helmet and jacket was not. And yesterday we went to a local snowmobile show with our son/family. https://wideopenwi.com/ And I spent almost $600 dollars within ten minutes of our arrival. Meh, my old snowmobile helmet/jacket was over twelve years old and they say to replace them every 4-5 years. Maybe that's why Mrs hasn't reeled me in, yet. Anyway, I'll be stylin in clothing younger then my grandkids this year... And Maggie approves.

  5. It was very nice. Non-traditional and as you can imagine, I am a traditionalist and my input was discarded. They walked from both ends of the aisle to meet in the middle then walked to the altar. They did do hand binding which I thought was pretty cool.

  8. I was moved to tears when the Amazon lady came. I found a huge box from the sunshine committee with beautiful lotus tea. I am heating water now. There was also a blanket and soap and a tumbler with lid and metal straw and straw cleaner. And lush socks and an eye mask and lotion and probably stuff I missed. I sat right on the floor and cried because my imaginary friends are so very kind. I am deeply appreciative. Einstein and I are blessed to have you all as friends.

  11. Homemade pizza. I made the dough roughly 50/50 white/wheat flour. Thin crust. Came oot like a cracker Muenster cheese, green pepper, and fresh sliced pepperoni. I buy a stick of it, and slice myself. Sauce on top. I tell you hwhat, this was delicious. And washed it down w/ a porter, at the cafe

My neighbor and I try to hit local restaurants not chains..but man...Little Canada as a suburb lost most of its size when the created Interstate 35 E...and widened hwy 36..we are pretty much limited in restaurants..mostly fast food. Apparently "Fat Nat's Eggs" in New Brighton made it to a list...not too far from here..maybe a couple miles from 35W...anyway.. I had their Huvejos Rancheros..they warned about the spiciness of their salsa and guacamole..OMG... I think the quac was made from @Longjohn's peppers My sinuses are clear as can be...but wow..I am ok with hot to a certain degree...this was pretty hot.

  16. All this reminds me that my almost 9 year-old spare tire is close to having to be replaced. One of the things I liked about the Fit when I selected it in 2013 was that it was one of the few subcompacts that came with an actual spare tire - a donut, but a real spare tire instead of a can of fix-a-flat. I checked the manual and it says: All tires, including the spare, should be removed from service after 10 years from the date of manufacture, regardless of their condition or state of wear. So when my calves recover from yardwork - hopefully tomorrow, I'll check the spare tire date and for pressure (should be 60 psi), do a quick re-wash of the car, then wax the car with Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax.

  17. If things go as planned, we are doing a 7-day cruise in February. Also planning on going out West to see the Grand Canyon and the Cardinals play the Diamondbacks. Maybe a bike tour also. I am very glad that I retired back in 2020.

  20. Indeed. I have been trying to do individually wrapped things because of the COVID. I left a tote bag with a variety of candies, peanut butter snack crackers, and individually wrapped Walker's Shortbreads. Maybe tomorrow I will stop and get a giant box of individual packages of trail mix or something else that pretends to be healthy.

  23. (Video Later) 45.76 miles @ 18.1 average speed today. Good strong ride with buddies Jose, Joaquin, and another buddy Tony B. Everything was going well till the end. Joaquin was ahead somewhere, Jose just turned off so I kept pushing on. After a bit I realized I was alone and we had 2 other guys join us for the return. I stopped to wait for Tony and the other guys. Then a couple of women rolled by telling me that Tony crashed. Ouch, I rode back but by the time I got there, he was already on his bike riding. Scraped up pretty good on various parts but seems OK though I know it's going to hurt in the morning. 🤣 FTR, the guy that took out Tony was not from our group. But actually, Tony said it was his fault as he was getting tired losing his composure and made a mistake getting too close to the other guy's wheel when he swung over and took his wheel out. I can smile the first couple of miles as I hold a warmup pace. Then we take turns switching at the front for 1 mile turns. Works well for us until we get involved with other riders. Jose, Joaquin, and Tony Take A Tumble Tony............Only joke because he is OK. He hit the other guy's wheel on a short little hill so we were doing about 15. Good thing it didn't happen sooner when we were rolling at a better rate.

  24. No specific plans for next year. Retirement is not even something I’m considering at this point in my life. We do plan to take a road trip to Utah in the spring. I’m sure family will visit. Just keep on keeping on and spend as much time as I can with this guy.

  27. Drive carefully. It’s going to take a Valiant effort to get that car to Texas. That car looks really good. Two of my high school buddies had Valiants and they were already all putty from rust. Had good times with them though.

  36. We have to replace our helmets after our next race because of the 5 year rule. Ahrma racing rules states that the helmet can not be more than 5 years after the manufacturer date. I bought a helmet for $600 and was only able to use it for 2 race weekends. Since Wo46 and I both have to buy new helmets we will be looking at laying out around $1,5OO for new helmets.

  41. I think it's natural for you to be a bit ambivalent about retiring - it's going to be different than you expected and that's hard. But when the time comes, I'm sure you'll enjoy the new experiences it will open for you. Something tells me I'll never quite be ready for retirement - I'm bad with change and I'm a worrier. I'll always worry about what the future may hold and what economic events could hit. But yesterday I got an email that a former coworker just died, only a few years after he retired. So I have to weigh any financial issues with other factors too.
