  1. Five miles, 22 minutes. First bike commute to this office. Rewarded with a nice sunrise.

  2. I decided to take a walk at a local park today. It was warmer than usual, but there was a nice fall breeze and at times the leaves would flutter down like rain. The park has a few animals, but there seemed to be fewer today than usual. The cows were in the far pasture so I only got to see them from a distance.

  3. The EVP who ran the fishing tournament for vets gave me 5,000 points on the company store for all I did for the event. Holy schiznit nothing on the store is more than 5,000 points and there is some bad ass stuff I can get! I’m eyeing several Garmin products to include a 530 and some gps watches for runs & hikes. I could also get his & her kayaks! Hmm decisions decisions…

  6. Hardly, it was ten years old when I bought it. It was parked along side the barn in a farmer’s field. It had a lot of rust. I paid him $30.00 for it and jumped it off my dad’s car and drove it home. I spent a year fixing all the rust and repainting it. Made a lot of memories in that car.

  7. Played my first game of hockey last night, first time on the ice since February 2020, right before Covid shut everything down. In spite of being active, it is obvious that I use muscle groups playing hockey that I don't use doing anything else. Walking down the hall is like "ow..., ow..., ow.."

  8. I forget how many miles it was but I had to carry a baritone horn and a briefcase full of books to and from school when I was a freshman. Made me the man I am today.

  10. The commute back is going to be hard. In five miles I ride past: Aslin Beer Co Beltway Brewing Crooked Run Brewing Rocket Frog Brewing and just past where I parked is Old Ox brewing. 1 mile per pint is not a good average for a bicycle.

  13. Walked to elementary school grades 1-5 Started riding the bus from grades 6-9. Bus stop was our front yard, so they knew... It was nice to be able to either sit inside in cold or wet weather or hang out with friends in nice weather. And of course, friends could come in and wait if it was bad out. Rode the bus from 6th grade through my freshman year I was lucky and got a car when I turned 16, so after that, I got myself to school and work and wherever I needed to be, and some places I did not need to be. This was close what my Nova looked like,

  18. Oh it’s not fashionable by any means but my feet are warm & protected on the dog walks. Also those socks look like they have a cut out between the toes. The socks just scrunch up when I do it.

  20. 25.1 miles tonight, very nice solo evening. A little bit of gain, 1,417 ft. The high school from where I graduated is just down the street. Didn't realize I caught the name in the pic. Still digging this cheapo XOSS GPS unit and it's auto light. While the Garmin lays dark below. Totally dark ride tonight. Started a bit late, feel safer not riding into a sunset. Through in a little climb at the end up to the hiking trail, the road heading up here is dark but nice!

  33. This guy is giving a presentation on the NASA NEEMO Project(NASA Extreme Environment Mission Ops) training they did in California. My son worked with him there and is currently working with him in Atlanta on another project. If I have not set it up right, about the 53 minute mark he gives a nice shout-out to my son. (Just pull the bar over, you don't need to wait for 53 minutes, because frankly it is not worth it. Lol
