No snow once I got to Ohio. Sixteen people altogether. Lots of food. I brought three girls home with me. They love Oreo and the feeling is mutual.

I had a contract to finish line training and checking a crew recently. They are now flying the same type as me. Apparently their boss didn't like having to pay someone to sign his guys off as competent. The first time I met him a few weeks ago and he greeted me with "What makes you so special?" " Well, my ability to sign your guys off or to walk off your airplane right now leaving you stranded without a crew." He was speechless for a few seconds. Sometimes you just have to put wealthy asshats in their place. I am invited back to do a trip for them tomorrow so he must have gotten over the shock of being stood up to.

It was on for bread, peach cobbler and the naan bread. No turkey was cooked. We went elsewhere. It feels like a bargain using it now.

Roamed around today taking a few more pics. Sunset and some planes. The sunset pics, I tried to get them dark so Gina wouldn't show to much (2 images), just wanted her blended into the image. The other one, use a flash to light her up. Then some planes, trying to capture them with props in motion. I read still propellers are dorky so today, just some experimenting. Along with some images from yesterday's walk with Gina.

My road is snow covered. They probably plowed and salted the paved roads. I won’t ride today anyway. I have three little angels.

I started watching this with the gf last night, and got a couple hours deep into it. It is pretty fascinating from a few perspectives. Documentaries about the Beatles are generally pretty interesting and tend to follow chronologically, but this one is different. After a fluff montage intro with all the little chicklets screaming and quick mention of the level of fame achieved, it veers into the story of the latter stage of the band’s existence as they are writing and recording an album in real time to be performed and recorded in front of an audience. The super cool aspect was that it showed how the songs were written and the evolution of them, and how decisions were arrived at in real time, very teamy. It felt very contemporary, which was a neat trick, and you saw the depth in personalities of them as they went through things. They seemed very self-aware and not insulated from the greater world around them, and talked about the band being nearly broken up at this point in a matter of fact way. Lots of “found footage” that was unique from my vantage point, really cool stuff. I won’t say much more, other than it seems a must-watch if you want more than the same old touch points and the normal superficial rundown of the lifetime of the band. Pretty cool so far.

But it’s ok. I didn’t think I wanted to take all 4 of my bikes to AZ. Gave my son my commuter bike as his hybrid has a bad hub right now. I won’t be commuting to work by bike in AZ so that works. I will be taking my Schwinn for casual riding, my Bridgestone for gravel riding, and my Stradalli for the road. We will take WoW’s hybrid/cruiser and her road bike as well.

Just back from family trap shooting. Felt very cold with winds too windy. Shot my new gun for the first time with limited adjustments. I was not top gun. Need to get the fit dialed in. It is a lovely sporting gun. Eventually the clays will fear me. 🤣🤣 but not today.

Coffee and small slices of pie; apple and pecan. Towels in the washer, sheets are up next. Made appointments for Moderna booster shot. Not till next Monday. Going to get the turkey carcass on the stove to make stock. But first, another cup of coffee. A bright sunny day. Going up to low 50's.

I am 'Tom Sawyer'..., I can convince others the 'paint the fence' and make it so they enjoy unpleasant tasks or situations. When working the road, 9 out of 10 people I gave tickets to would say 'thank you' Also, in our 30-40,000 person organization, I am the only one with the qualifications to do my job. I am working on getting someone ready for when I pull the chute.

We totally love it. Glad I fretted and ended up with the one I wanted. The fan box is a monolith jutting up into the ceiling. I love that too. At first I was like "Holy smokes, that is huge." It seemed intrusive at first. Love it now. It makes a statement over the stove. We sort of had to go that route or the box would have been crooked over the cabinet. The vent works best on the left or middle of the stove. The intake is on the left side. It really draws air if you put it on high. I use it every time I light the stove. Zephyr Mini monsoon. <thumbs up>

I used my carbon monoxide pollution spewing propane stove. I’m not dead yet. Hope to have a new stove by Christmas

This has been one busy week. First Thanksgiving, then womaxx's birthday (yes she was born on Thanksgiving day) and now the annual orgy of Christmas decorations signals the onset of the big one. Sorry, I have to go clean out my email folder. There were 62 new additions this morning, many from companies I've never heard of.

I like when it's snowing with almost no wind. It's soooo quiet then. Horizontal snow means I probably will get to plow my driveway more often. I remember when I worked and I HAD to drive in just about any snow condition. Several times... I had to drive through whiteouts... via the brail method. If you felt bumps on the ride side of the car, you need to move to the left a bit. Now I can stay home and wait for the snow to stop and the plows to clean the roads. Yeah retirement is good.
