  1. Thanks all. Truly. I’m making a decision. This stuff is all too complicated. I’m diving down a rabbit hole that I attempted to, without much success, 18 years ago. I’m driving myself nuts with the “what if’s” and “this could be this” kind of thinking. Too much info out there and if the folks who study all this for a living can’t figure it out, what makes me think I’ve any right attempting to? I’m done. I’m going to choose to not have any disease and get back to normal. The symptoms passed then. They’ll pass now. I hope. Peace.

  2. I’ve spent more than a quarter so far this year. How are things going for me? Fan-freakin-tastic. I got my vision back and can see better than ever. My eye pressure is prefect without medication. I read all the way to the bottom of the eye chart today without even slowing down. I have a girlfriend and life is good. I’ve been avoiding the L- word because she is a bit skittish but today I told her I loved her. Plans for the second quarter? Continue to work on getting rid of stuff at my house. Continue to work on my relationship with Nancy. Continue to rebuild my strength. I plan to be re-married by this time next year God willing.

  3. “I must about my business be As life moves oft into the fray. Sweet Elysian Fields I see Who entreat me kindly; And from here convey...” - Me Just an update for anyone who is curious. From my charts: Health Considerations: Abnormal Immunological Findings in Serum - Positive ANA Panel w/ Positive SCL-70 Antibodies Nerve Palsy Ulnar, Nerve Conduction Study Myalgia and Myositis, EMG – “Muscles are not quite normal” Disturbance of Gait Disorder of Muscle Weakness (Generalized) Left Ventricular Concentric Remodeling Got this on Monday – “Referral to Rheumatology to evaluate and treat abnormal ANA and SCL-70 for possible Systemic Sclerosis (Scleroderma) or other condition.” Have Rheumatology appt April 19 Follow-up Neurology April 20. Two more Cardiologist testing procedures April 11and May 18, then follow-up. Sheesh!! 😯 Doing OK. Legs had been better early in the week. Great reprieve. But the pain and control are flaring again. And my left grip leaves a fair amount to be desired. Scleroderma had never entered the realm of my thought processes/possibility. Interesting, I do have a couple recent patches of thickened skin on my nose and cheek. And some pulmonary involvement. Stuff I mentioned to my general practitioner in passing, but never thought to mention to neurology. Figured it was just age related. And may be. I do not envy medical practitioners. Diagnosing idiopathic, pathological maladies seems a medical minefield. So many diseases present with mimicry; so many symptoms, protean. “It may be that the gulfs will wash us down: It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles, And see the great Achilles, whom we knew. Tho’ much is taken, much abides; and tho’ We are not now that strength which in old days Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts, Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.” - Tennyson 😊 Hope everyone is well. Back after Lent. Peace

  4. The County Inspector, John, I contacted last week just knocked on my door. I had received a letter saying my property was in violation according to building codes but the letter didn't say what the violation was so I called John, whose name was listed on the violation letter as my contact. He said the notice of violation was apparently just due to the building permit not being closed out and something not signed by the contractor. That was taken care of today and I was handed a Notice of Inspection marked PASSED. While John was here, I asked him how I should do the sidewalk repair around the County Water Meter. Simple. Some quick-setting concrete were the meter chamber is a little exposed. Let it set for a few days, then Sakrete or something similar to make it level with the rest of the sidewalk.

  5. You can build a faar. We do. Honestly the majority of campgrounds are like this these days. Most of them really DGAF but have to put that in the rules for "liability". Then when you act up and they kick you out they can have a reason. I have been to tons of campgrounds that don't allow alcohol and we just pour our beer or bourbon and coke into yeti cups and never have a problem. Just don't act stupid and loud and you are fine. The battleship has been decomissioned. No more babies. But we can still practice.

  6. I gave my oldest grandson WoJSTL's Bridgestone XO-5 a couple of years ago. He's tall enough now. 3 miles walking with WoJSTL at the YMCA. We had signed up for a 6K race but it was 32°F and very windy at the start so we wimped out.

  16. 34 miles on the Ritchey. WOChrisL had a lunch with the girls so I had the day to do what I wanted. Sooo, I did a mix of road, gravel fire road & some single track. Got dirty & had a blast. Did collide with a MTB dude on a two way single track. He dropped in pretty quickly as I was coming out of it. I shouted Rider Rider!!! And dude cut the inside on a left hand bend for him, right hand bend for me. I moved as far to the right as I could but knew we would collide so shifted my bike to the right & leaned my shoulder into him laying him out on the trail. I was able to stop without falling. I helped the guy up & he was young and said he was new to mountain biking. He was really apologetic and asked if I was ok. Seemed like a nice guy and genuinely apologetic. I just said it’s a two way trail, gotta keep heads up and not banzai blind corners. Yessir, again I’m so sorry… All I’m all an awesome ride, had too much fun to stop for pictures.

  20. The dowel end allows you to secure it to a wall or board by boring a standard sized hole. The taper of the shaft has a natural tendency to force those things hung on the peg to stay away from the wall. The end provides for some hooking action to help keep whatever item is hung there to stay on the peg. The peg is designed with the grain for both strength and ease of turning. Need I go on?
