  1. She hasn’t wanted to eat for two weeks. I made some chicken noodle soup for her last week because it’s one of her favorites. I got her to eat three spoonfuls and she said she didn’t want anymore. I just threw out the rest of it today. One day I got her to eat four spoonfuls of oatmeal with blueberries and honey. Most days she won’t eat anything at all. Today I made some banana pudding and drizzled Hershey syrup on it. I got her to eat what I brought her, probably a dozen bites.

  4. Prayers and Vibes needed. My 77 year-old cousin Barbara who lives in Horseheads, NY (near Corning) was hospitalized with COVID yesterday AM and given oxygen. Her husband Bob was hospitalized later in the day and also tested pos. for COVID. Both are ICU patients. Barb is doing better this AM and talked to her daughter by phone. Bob is struggling. Their daughter Amy who lives in Maine is at their upstate NY home now and will be caring for them when they hopefully recover. They also have a son who works for Apple in Seattle. I spent a week to a month in some summers with Barb's famil

  5. When my daughter & SIL come over for Sunday dinner Smokey is always pestering Jack who has zero tolerance for the boy. So last night we buried Jack and Smokey spent a good hour at our house never realizing Jack was in there! We did pull the blanket further down but left a opening so he could breath.

  7. Amazon Prime left packages on our ramp. Tons of easy to swallow food. Apple sauce, in several flavors, gelatin in many flavors, grits in different flavors, cream of wheat, and oatmeal. She had some grits for breakfast. She is finally eating better I still feed her because her hands are not steady. Many thanks to the “Square WheelsSunshine Committee” you are the best. ❤️❣️💕

  10. We had between 6-9 inches of snow today that closed a lot of the city. I did not get a call from the Dr, but an email notification to MyChart. If I’m reading it correctly, both the head and neck are ok. I talked to my insurance agency on Friday because I had not heard anything from the other party. She helped me reach out and start a claim with the other company. Both the automotive claim adjuster and medical adjuster called me that afternoon. Neither had been able to reach their insured and they were requesting a copy of the police report, but both indicated they thought it looked pretty c

  11. I went to see my Dr. today to follow-up on last week's blood test. My 8-week avg. blood sugar A1c had dropped to 8.3%, 7 is the normal goal, but he was extremely pleased it dropped from 11.3 to 8.3. He was thinking of tweaking my meds to a little stronger, until I showed him the printout of the charts (screen captures of my phone Freestyle Libre app) I posted here a few days ago. I showed my my 90 day avg. blood sugar was 164 mg/dL and my 30 day avg. was 160, I pulled out my cell phone and showed him on the Freestyle Libre app that the last 7 day average was 153 mg/dL. That corresp

  12. Going to Santa Rosa Beach Florida in July with some great friends. We have already reserved a 4 bedroom house on a coastal inlet, with boat dock and short walk to the beach. Hope to charter a boat for a day of fishing on the ocean and will either take bikes or rent bikes there.

  13. It has been a tough few years building a business to the point of making money. Has taken a huge toll on me and it is nice to go to bed at night not worried about payroll, or payables, or whatever. Now I am look forward to going to work, to budget meetings like we had today, where we can focus on getting more granularity to our numbers and planning for the future. Tomorrow I get to meet with our banker about buying a vehicle for the company and with our phone and data provider about expanding our office It is nice be able to take a deep breathe and look forward to spending some q

  16. I took some Christmas lights down this afternoon. I get done and was coming inside and closed a garage door. BAM! Those suckers are loud when they snap. It took about 5 minutes to remove the broken spring. A quick trip to Menards and the install was underway. No broken bones or blood was involved in the repair.

  17. Ran it for about a minute on the bench. Didn't want to set off the smoke detectors so I shut it down pretty quick. But it does run, and didn't sound too bad considering the carb is very roughly adjusted. I thought it would run, but it has been a long time since I assembled an engine, and this one was in pretty rough shape. I'm happy

  19. Good news, I went to bed at 11, at midnight she calls me and wants a drink of water. I give her some water and go back to bed. At 12:15 see calls out to me that she needs a drink. I go out and give her another drink. I go back to bed, at one she calls me and needs another drink. I get her a drink and I tell her I need to get out my hydration pack and rig it up for her. She smiles at me when I’m telling her that. I go back to bed, before I can get back to sleep she calls out to me again. I go out and ask her what she needs. She says: “Can I have something to eat?” She hasn’t eaten in two weeks.

  21. Normally I just use my cell phone for texting or making a few calls when I'm outside, but would use my work phone or computer for conference calls. This makes me feel efficient. But since I've been working from home, I've used my cell phone for a lot of work calls. This makes me feel slightly less professional, but still ok. Over the past months, I've updated my work area with a new chair, a small side desk, a new floor lamp and even a phone charging stand where I can have my phone stand upright so I can still see it while it recharges. This makes me feel good and bad because I don't reall

  23. Every January a local bike shop runs a special where they take your bike completely apart, clean the frame and all components, reassemble the bike, true the wheels, and adjust the shifters and brakes. Yeah, yeah, I know the drill – the shop offers ‘recommendations’ for you to replace or upgrade components and you walk out the door paying more than you thought. And that’s OK - bike mechanics need to make a living too. So I took my touring bike in and reserved another spot for my newer road bike that I’d bring by later. I’d bought the touring bike in 2008 and it’s seen some tough cyclin

  24. I had a carcinoid tumor removed from my upper right bronchial tube, and my upper right lung lobe removed in October of 2019. This is for annual surveillance. A specific light will be used that will show if anything is present, that will not show up on a CT image.

  25. My wife is always in her bed when I make it and it is awkward. A complete bedding change takes a lot of skill. When possible I try to wait until I have help. Jocelyn makes it look easy but I am helping her. Doing it by yourself you have to use one hand to keep her from rolling back over and the other hand to position all the bedding, outgoing and fresh sheets and pads. The goal is to try to do it with one roll each direction. Sometime it takes me about four rolls.

  28. I went to the bike shop today with my Honda Fit's rear "magic seats" raised so I could stand up a Trek FX 3 behind the front seats and drive it home. Instead, I ended up ordering a Trek Verve 3 Disc Lowstep for almost the same price - I'll get it around March 29th. Thanks everyone who gave recs. on Trek bikes when I asked and those who warned about bikes being hard to get - if I had waited until Spring I might not get the bike I wanted until Fall. When I got to the bike shop, I pointed out I'm 70, there's not as much stretch in my legs as there used to be, and the XL frame recom

  31. I left for work and stopped about 25 miles down the road - typical morning stop. Fresh brewed coffee and gasoline. I went to get the coffee and pay for both but as I was getting out of the car I though it would be a good time to see how much cash I had with me - old school here. I had no wallet. It immediately became obvious that I had left my wallet on the counter at home. Bummer - no cash, no cards... I had fuel to easily get to work so I went to the office and raided a petty cash cache (say that quickly 33 times). Then I out went and got coffee, fuel and a breakfast sandwich.
