  1. Here is a nice video of the race trail. Wendy took it while running the 2 dog scooter class. 3 mile trail. https://www.facebook.com/1410055682/videos/1376278186422076/
  2. It's spring but there were a few flakes of lake effect at the race both Saturday and Sunday.
  3. Kilo is a very good boy. At 6 months he is still a baby. Living with Brandy, owner of his mom, he didn't get to meet many people. He was shy and didn't want me to touch him when I got him Friday afternoon. Now he loves getting petted and loves his aunt Beretta. This morning Beretta took him with us to Tractor Supply to get some supplies we needed for him. She got her normal treat but he wouldn't take his there. He did take it from me when we got home. Many of the employees and several customers petted him and he took it well and he walked up to them. We have made lots of progress since Friday. Brandy said he had never been in the house. It took a little but he followed Beretta in and slept in a crate beside our bed. Plan is that he will be an outside dog most of the time. This race was the first time he has been away from home so he has a lot to learn.
  4. Ike, Beretta and Benelli did get to make some fun runs on the trail pulling the SXS. pulling an 800 lb machine is different than pulling a 50 lb race rig. They can move it by themselves but I kept it in gear to help them on the hills. Too much for only 3 dogs to pull fast or far.
  5. I went to help but also to pick up Kilo. He likes his Aunt Beretta. His sire is Beretta's brother Sawyer. Sawyer if a distance bred race dog and his mom is a sprint bred Siberian Husky so will be interesting to see how he develops. I think he will be very good at both.
  6. Thursday I went to Mancelona, MI for the SpringFest2024 Dryland sled dog race. I wasn't racing but was helping put on the race. Took the SXS, radios for workers and the large coffee maker. Some there thought the coffee was the most important thing. Thursday I spent the afternoon riding ORV trails in the area then when the family who were putting on the race got home from work after 5pm we set up trails. 3 mile and 1.5 mile. Friday morning I went out and rode some more ORV trails then went back and reset some barriers that blew down over night. The other help who were not morning people got there about 11 to finish setting up the race. I was the only one camped there Thursday night. Racers started arriving about 9am Friday morning. With 150 teams racing the field filled up by evening. This was one of the biggest dryland races since it was a qualifier for the North American championship and World Championships. Many of the TeamUSA from 2023 were there and racing in their team uniforms from the world championship in Spain last November. The first time the top two 4 dog teams in USA raced together other than the world championship. This time the daughter of the race hosts won by 2 seconds over the 2 day race. Mandy and Dan put on a very exciting show. I went up with 3 dogs and came home with 4. Kilo is the grandson and nephew of the 3 I took with me. Meet 6 month old Kilo. He is a very good boy. The official trail help on duty. Lemon, Mandy's retired leader and mother of many of her racing team with Beretta. One low quality cell phone picture till I get the hundreds of better ones and the video processed.
  7. May someone fail to clean up their dog crap and she step in it.
  8. Hope we get ewes. So far we have 7 rams and 1 ewe lamb. We need 2 more ewes so all 3 kids have a ewe to show.
  9. How many will she have. 4th time lambing. First 3 were triplets. She is huge. She and her 3 year old daughter are our last 2 to lamb.
  10. getting close to the end. Only 2 more ewes to lamb. I hope we are done before I go north on Thursday.
  11. A few of the RVs that you people travel in are made in Elkhart County Indiana.
  12. I have run out of posts and my new fence is not complete. I think I need to visit Tractor Supply.
  13. Where is the forum party? Is @Airehead hosting?
  14. Enter your zip code and you can see the time and how much coverage you will have. We will be 98.4% at 3:09 pm EDT. https:/www.univision.com/especiales/noticias/infografias/2024/eclipse-solar-2024-en/
  15. I voted early. I voted late. I voted often. Since we know both Emmy and Emma I voted for both of them. It didn't hurt Emmy and Emma deserved some recognition too. I stuffed the ballot box. Maybe I should live in Chicago but I don't want to.
  16. I have my traps ready to go catch that varmint.
  17. With ewes lambing we will be staying home. Will be home monday too. Since Candy has had triplets every year kinda expect that again. Often had to help her with delivery. She looks like she may have them before morning.
  18. Twin rams. We only have 8 ewes to lamb this year. Looks like most of them will be in the next few days. Wouldn't be surprised if we are done in a week
  19. It is interesting that Indiana has 3 of the nominees. Shows the quality of Indiana softball. Our 2 oldest granddaughters used to play on teams against Emma Hiss. They have both given up on softball and the oldest is concentrating on her cross country and track. Has lettered in both sports and then second is playing volleyball.
  20. I don't think it will hurt Emmy's chances of winning but so far I have voted 8 times for Emmy and 3 for Emma. Used different devices and IP addresses so if they want to check they won't know it is the same person. Gotta help out friends and local Indiana girls. P8, Sorry for dividing my vote.
  21. no, only 2 of them. Emma Hiss competes against our granddaughter. Both are very good players and I wouldn't be unhappy to see either one win.
