    TIA

Today it arrived. New greenhouse. The old fabric one is worn out after 20 years use. Now I will be ;busy getting the electric wiring in and all the shelves set up. So far only have an extension cord in to run one heater and the fan.
  5. Dogs, sheep and chickens have their morning feed and care, 2 sheep fleeces washing. One drying. Drying takes about 4 days. One rug on the loom. I have a good start on the morning work but the morning is about over. No ewes ready to lamb for the next few days at least but getting pens ready with heat lamps if it gets cold Need to start shearing so that is done before lambing.
  6. It got lots of cows pregnant for me. Also funded my genetic research. Wait........is that the AI you were talking about?
  7. I have been following it. I don't know him other than what I have heard and read onilne. In second place is 5 time winner Anny Malo, A french speaking Canadian friend of mine who speaks very little English. 7 of the 15 racing this year are friends of mine.
  8. I suspect there are some mushers in town this week who would wear sweaters. 7 of them are very good friends of mine.
  9. members of our 2nd Kentucky 1812 group are buying them.
  10. Raised the sheep, I sheared them, washed the wool then pulled it into roving that I lightly hand twisted before weaving. No spinning on a wheel but pulled and lightly twisted it by hand so it was about a lalf inch diameter cord for weaving. Light felting will bond it together a little more.
  11. I think one of these rugs would look real good in from of @Airehead's fireplace for her and Lindy to lay on while they watch dog shows on TV
  12. Not sure about weaving but she has already knitted me several sweaters.
  13. Using peg looms that have been documented to being used for at least 1500 years. Good way to use up lots of wool. The first one is the first time my wife has done any weaving. Not bad for a first time. Just a little to loose for perfect work. 17 x 17 seat cushion about 1 inch thick This next one is the one I am working on now. When finished it will be a 30 x 36 inch rug. About 3/4 inch thick. I started weaving rugs with my grandparents and have been doing it for over 60 years. This one will probably be sold at out church auction in March. About 16 inches done so far. Should have it finished in the next couple days. Just doing a little at a time between other projects. Her cushion was done with raw wool then washed after weaving. Mine the wool is washed but will be washed and lightly felted after finishing. We have orders for several 30 x 72 inch sleep mats so need to keep working to get them done by the reenactment in may.
  14. Sorry Aire.. Hope you heal fast.
  15. Hope it all goes well with no problems. Good it isn't too cold.
  16. How are your snow conditions? So many races cancelled this year.
  17. Back when the Boland was new the first captain was Elmer F. Murray Jr. WoD_Ps uncle. John J Boland and Adam E Cornelius started Boland and Cornelius which became American Steamship Co. Her dad and uncle worked on A E Cornelius gersey dairy farm near Buffalo in the late 1920s then went on to work on the lakes. Her dad left the lakes in 1947 as a chief unloading engineer. Elmer stayed on till his retirement as a captain. Because of his seniority he got his choice of the newest boats.

  22. He wasn't hurt. The way I found out was when I got a call from the air force base in Florida 6 weeks later asking me about an ELT activation. He registered the plane in his name but never the ELT. I found his phone number and called him. Had him call them. Lost most of my faith in ELT use. By the time they called me the battery was long dead. and the plane was in Saganaw, MI instead of Coldwater. I guess he didn't know how to really dance on a taildraggers rudder pedals. He was grandfathered in on traildraggers but hadn't flown one for many years and didn't get insurance or a checkout in it. With the big tundra tires it was a handful on pavement. Fun to fly off grass and dirt.
