    Jelly Beans

Good call. Best to eat them on the back deck when @SpeedDemon isn't looking.
  6. Froot Loops? Wait, his cell mate, Tucan Sam, has that gig.
  7. That seems.......... well............... antiquated.
  8. Aaaaaaannnnnnnnd you get a 10.
  9. I think I have been there and done that.
  10. Or before any more criminal charges pile up...
  11. But 45yo memories say it was a great place to get something to eat after the bars closed at 2:00. A 3:00am peach roll-up would do just fine until you woke up at noon on Saturday.

    Drafting

I had 3 years of drafting and design at a technical school in high school. Then I was on a board for about the next 10 years. CAD was nowhere in the commercial drawing space then. The last time I was on a board for reals was about 1980. All was with drafting machines - I have used T-squares but never for serious stuff. We bought a couple of old boards - One Daughter#3 uses for art and another antique wood framed board that WoKzoo uses for her art projects.

    Garage door spring

I've been in garages a couple of times when they let go. The last time I had to replace this one I came out of the house and hit the up button and proceeded to walk out the garage door as it was rising. I was somewhere close to just under the opening when it let go. Scaring the crap out of you is an understatement. This time I was in my car and hit the remote. I never heard it. I just couldn't figure out why the door wouldn't go higher than about a foot.
  14. Vellum is all I ever used. My first job was in a department with about 25 drawing boards and a large blueprint room. My board was right outside the blueprint room door. I have fond memories of the ammonia smell.

    Pencils

I spent several years on a drawing board involved in mechanical design. I still have a collection of Pentel 0.5mm pencils in a box somewhere, holding down my collection of circle templates and French curves. One pencil for every lead hardness. They were obviously my favorite.

    Garage door spring

I survived just fine. Like RattleCan said, use the 2 bars designed for the job and be careful. I’ve done a few of these. This was 45 minutes start to finish. Winding the torsion spring was less that 5 minutes of that. It took 31 quarter turns and only the last few were really under much tension. Slow and steady wins the race.

    Jelly Beans

I can take ‘em or leave ‘em.
  18. Broke. I was running errands this afternoon. I came home about 2:30 and the garage door I use wouldn’t work. The spring broke. I replaced this one about 10 years ago. Off to Menards to buy the replacement. It took 45 minutes to replace. The first tension of the spring was perfect. No torsion adjustment needed.
  19. Went to church, stopped at the LGS. Now I’m going to replace a cold air return grate. Then I plan on doing some woodworking.
