Technically - no. Realistically in a commercial environment - yes. -

We got an email this morning from a sub-contractor who has done a lot of work for us in the past, just not recently. He logged into his online account looking for his 1099 for 2023. He couldn't find it. Nothing like waiting until about noon on filing day to line up all your documents. In this case, he was good to go since he hadn't done any work for us since October 2022.
