  1. I have never been to Illinois, sir. Well excluding O'hare. Ahem.
  2. I disagree. A capitalist wants ownership. Giving up the apostrophe seems like a commie move.
  3. Yeah, I'm not even running yet. I'm walking briskly though for an hour. I imagine I'll be trying to start jogging within the year and probably really get into it -- if I know myself. But for now, brisk walking gives most if not all the health benefits and is easier on my knees. As long as i'm losing weight, I'm ok with that. But at some point I know my body is not going to cooperate and I'll have to up my game. FWIW, I try to keep my heart below 150 BPM. Psssssssst. Great work!!

  5. First time I watched them and I really enjoyed how they played. Testament to their players but more so to their couch I think. After that first 10 minutes, their train just kept rolling.
  6. I see one obvious reason she is going to be upset. No Dottleshead.
  7. Yes and I watched with friends. I thought SC was deserving. They played better team ball and were absolute beasts on the offensive boards
  8. Ok, thanks. I will have to google that. I think I watched a Dave Grohl documentary on it and they ballparked them as Chicago?
  9. I'll bet you always wanted to know where it is and perhaps even more inquisitive on how it got it's name. Well, forget @Scrapr or even @Dirtyhip because he/she probably knows. But I'm here to enlighten the rest of youz. https://www.grantspassoregon.gov/395/History#:~:text=Grants Pass was named in,Pacific) was completed in 1884.
  10. Utah, correct? My wife and I were thinking about going there. One of the many parks in the south we need to get to.
  11. I woke up to that song in my brain. It's still there. Chicago's very own Cheapest Tricketh.
  12. I haven't seen them play this year but the radio talking heads love their ability to play defense and 3 analyst repeated that they can be you in multiple ways. Both teams have lived up to their billing and it looks like the basketball world got it's Christmas.
  13. I think UConn takes it. I think. Purdue could do it ut I'm going with your men. Of course I have my doubts -- which is while I'll be watching. Iowa and South Carolina on later today in Women's NCAAs.
  14. Are you sure you're not there and that this post isn't the dream?
  15. This. I claim -- and I'm not certain so maybe he can set the record straight -- is @MickinMD has a nice full pension and he's playing the market for beer money (ok car money). He's in a great position and I admit to being a bit envious. But there are many of us who are not in quite the same position to be gambling on the market ourselves. @Kirby is right about the financial advisor thing -- I'm ok with my investments as I'm really diversified and I have a fiduciary advisor that makes money when I make money and -- well makes money when I lose money. Wait. Wut? WTF am I working with computers again??!
  16. I hear/read that. And it’s not advisable to play the short game. But when one’s retirement is 80% in the market still, such downswings you feel. I don’t have that house money to play. Also we don’t hear from Mick or any others when there stock goes in the crapper or about their bad investments. It’s the nature of the beast. Just saying.
  17. OMG. We have to do at least 3 8 of these. https://www.redwoodhikes.com/TopTenHikes.html
  18. I do not envy him. Moving is a lot of work and the older I get, the less interest I have in it.
  19. You gotta have a stomach for this. You are retired and playing with house money. I aspire to retire and those hiccups are felt much more heavily.
  20. There is no doubt but I often dont start my workout until night
  21. There is no diet per se but when you have cardiovascular it’s better not to eat saturated fats and sugars. Besides I worry about my heart pounding through miles of fat. I can do better.
  22. Thank you. I don’t care either but it’s interesting to see what other folks in here is of value.
  23. We decided a 5 night stay in McKinleyville. Total price comes out to be $800. We get the entire cabin/home on or near the beach to ourselves. Assuming the Redwoods was your cup of tea, how much would you pay to stay 5 nights? That price includes a $100 clearing fee and about $100 AirBNB fee. The location is super awesome. I'm just curious how others around the country feel about the cost? I know economies are different everywhere. Also, these are Spring rates. They go up another $30 a night in summer.
