  1. Maybe we just notice it more because most of us are older?
  2. WoBG selected yet another Christmas movie (the DVR is no longer at 100%, it's down to 92% now) The woman is a photographer (yeah right) and she stops on a trail to take a selfie. I'm not even sure the camera and lens on the DSLR would auto focus with a telephoto lens at that distance. If it did (by some miracle) auto focus then the picture of her nose will be all there is to see. Does anyone in the movie industry understand how a camera works?
  3. Is my old failing memory correct... you had a sewage issue there too? If that's true.... We all know problems come in groups of 3.
  4. OK... that's awesome.
  5. Not sure about doing that. The car maybe disabled, (battery cable removed) to keep her from driving away. I'm sure my brother did that to my dad's car. And then the alert for a lost woman who drove off and got lost. You need to be sure... before you get the car started. And you are indeed a good neighbor.
  6. Now you need a web cam hidden in the box and another outside. This box? https://jcswildlife.com/jcs-wildlife-barred-owl-nesting-box/ I've seen owls here from time to time.
  7. A vacation home for @Kzoo?
  8. This topic could be interesting and it possibly could save some person from losing a LOT of money by opening an email (or text) answering a phone call from a spammer. You all have seen this stuff. Your _____ (fill in the blank) account is hacked/locked/etc.. and you need to respond now and verify their account info via the link provided. It happens to many people who believe this scam, young and old. People trust too much... and need to learn about this before it's too late. I just read this the other day.. Teen loses $25,000 after falling for phone scam I tell WoBG to NEVER click on a link in an email, or text if you don't the person who sent it. Then again... someone's account could be hacked and even that kind of email link could be phishing attempt.
  9. At our old home.... We had an EF2 tornado go by about 1 1/2 miles to the south. An EF4 that destroyed about 600 homes in Washington IL (about 40 miles SW of the old home) the tornado lifted... but was a funnel cloud that passed over or home. LOTS of roofing material, insulation, plywood (yeah 2 X 3 parts) all fell into our yard. We heard the ROAR of the wind.... and figured it was time to hide. At our new home location, before the home was built, an EF 3 was about 1/2 mile (or less) from our lot.
  10. I think when she got strapped into the car, THAT freaked her out. She kept pulling at her clothing around her neck. WoBG told me when she worked, they had a 'reward' and severs people got a ride along at the Joliet NASCAR track. Obviously it was not the 'true' NASCAR experience they only got up to maybe 90. WoBG told the driver... I drove faster then this driving to Joliet. WoBG told once... "Those yellow diamond speed limit warning signs for curves... my car can go thru the curves at twice the recommenced speed."
  11. OK... I've never seen that before.
  12. I don't recognize any of them either. Nope... not doing that...
  13. BGE uses automated meter reading for both gas and electric meters. On the BGE web site for your account, you can probably find the hourly electric usage data for your meter for every day (yesterday and prior) for the last year, or more. Your bill is based on all of that hourly data added up in your billing month. You should be able to download that billing data into Excel and if you are real ambitious calculate your own bill. (I was very good at doing that when I worked.) Not sure about the gas usage that may not (no need for that kind of data) be hourly data. Estimated billing would be rare for a utility that uses automated meter reading. Unless of course if you meter is fubar'd.... and that doesn't happen very often either. Some utility web sites provide 'Forecasted' billing information. That forecast is based on the hourly energy usage you have accumulated so far in the billing period. The real bill is what I always look at. I never use the forecasted billing info for anything. At least in our service territory if a bill had estimated electric data, the bill would have to indicate the data was estimated on the bill. That seldom would happen after automated meter reading was installed in our service territory.
  14. Both of our dogs are very calm after a 1 1/2 to 2 mile walk. They sleep for a long time after that. Apparently one of our dogs is a dog breed that is typically VERY hyper. It helps that our Jack Russel (Parker) is 15 years old. We rescued him 3 years ago. I did a bit of research before he came to live with us. The breed is the FAST (in 5th place for the fasted dogs at 38 mph) and when they pick up a scent they like... they will follow it for a LONG time. When they are younger they are VERY hyper too. They tend not get along with other dogs very well. But... we still adopted him. I was up for the challenge. About 2 1/2 years ago WoBG took Parker outside with no leash. Parker started to track a scent, and he was gone. He started running following the scent. She chased after him for a while. He finally stopped... at a spot where there must have been a really great smell, and he just could not leave to move on. WoBG caught him. She gets back home. I asked "Where have you been?" 'Chasing Parker and yelling to you for help.' I was in the garage cleaning something, and never heard anything. Parker (and our Beagle) they tend to run off and follow scents too) have been on a leash EVERY time they go outside after that day. Yeah this small dog is FAST. He a 18 pounds of muscle.
  15. I wonder how many years @bikeman564™ or @Kzoo have spent in prison?
  16. Toilet seat up. That's way better than the lid being closed. The lids are always down here... we have had dogs for decades. The toilet seats here gets cleaned, along with the rest of the toilets on a regular basis. If recall... the last time I blew chucks was in 2016 when I just started getting sick from pancreatitis.
  17. So.. now you know I'm a Ghost.
  18. Yeah... I agree. She's 3 years younger than me. Back in 1984 she was in the movie Grandview USA. They filmed a lot of the movie in Pontiac IL. Back in 84 that was in my service area for the power company. The Pontiac City Manager called me and he waned me to meet with the movie's production people, as soon as possible. So I made the trip and was there within an hour. First thing.. the CM tells me... "I need to talk to the police chief, and tell him to watch for you speeding here. (I drove my dark blue Z28 on the job). We meet with the production people. They wanted a temporary electric power installation, in a few days. I kind of laughed... and I had to explain, if they wanted that to happen you should have asked 3 months ago. We had lunch at a local restaurant that's part of the hotel. JLC walks by the window going to one of the movie locations.
  19. This... I just about never buy from Amazon. I don't need to kill small businesses. I'll buy from just about anywhere else other than Amazon. Amazon is my last choice. I don't use Prime. I should say... I don't pay for Prime. When I needed something, and it didn't cost enough to get free shipping. I signed up for Prime, got the stuff shipped for free and it arrived faster. Then I canceled Prime before the 30 day free trial ended.
  20. I was watching yet another Christmas movie (WoBG has FILLED our DVR with them) and one of the characters said "Go Birds". My guess was they were in Philly. I searched "Go Birds" and this is one of the things I found, for a baby. If you want one... link
  21. First I say... I've posted her that the doc who took out my gallbladder had an 'unusual' sense of humor. At our follow up meeting after the surgery.... The first thing he said when he walked into the room. "Your alive!" During our conversation... he asked if I needed needed more pain meds. I told him no, I only took one pill and I had aa lot of extra pills. He tells me... "You can take them to any school and sell them for $20 per pill." Yeah... he said that. Or not... https://www.timfrankseptic.com/news/flushing-medications-harms-your-septic-system-33322
  22. This... 35 is the fastest I'll go now down the few hills I have.
  23. I use my power washer to clean my concrete driveway, and the house siding. (it has adjustable pressure settings) I like my bikes too much to kill them with the power washer. I only use the power washer on my car when it's really dirty. Like it would be after driving on @Longjohn's roads. Most of the time I just use the hose on the car and a wet towel on the bike.
